Just hope the physics engine will let us pop wheelies in high powered cars. :)

The limiting factors so far in previous GT's has been a limit to the suspenson soft/stiff range, and tires that aren't sticky enough (I don't mean soft road race tires, I mean like "drag-slicks-w/ 10 psi" sticky)

True. I got one of the new IBooks. It does look cool. :)

The latest build is certainly looking very nice indeed. I like the GTA Vice City type glow from all the lights.

Amazingly the wheels are actually round (with 3d rims), some of the E3 vids have the same octagonal wheels as Prologue.

Strangely the road seems to reflect the colour of the cars, they must have some shiny roads in Vegas ;) And the people at the start still seem to be made out of paper!

Ya still dosen't work though. It says you nead to download other programs that are only downloadable for the pc. :indiff:

Go to this places:

www.versiontracker.com, or
www.macupdate.com

Search for a software called "ASXrecorder" or something like that, it is a freeware, a small program of just few MB. Also check those URLs for everything about Mac third party softwarem those two are Holy places. Then install it (follow the instructions) and notice that this program records stream in the place you set up in its preferences.

You must have a latest Windows Media Player (9, I think) for this installed first (available at Microsoft's site) an then you commense a stream on japanese site. After the stream ends, in "edit" window of WMP option "info" becomes avaliable. Select it to see the source of the movie, and then type that URL into ASXrecorder. Press "start" and wait until software record the whole stream on your hard-disc.

It is very simple actually. Oh, and you must run OSX for that.

I think the only reason you get "jaggies" is becase of the scan lines on your TV. If you used your PC monitor, jaggies will be gone.

There's no screenshots for us to actually judge if there were jaggies or not, just some dude on a forum.

I don't get how GT4 can have graphics that are at a resolution any different to anything else the PS2 products.

Wrong.

Aliasing is actually more prominent on PC monitors since VGA connections can carry a better quality signal than a normal TV could.

Games are displayed with pixels. No matter what they are displayed on, they will always have aliasing. You need to have some sort of filtering technique, such as FSAA, to mask aliasing better.

I got me a HDTV and component cables. It's a Zenith so I'm ready for no noticeable jaggies
You will still notice aliasing. The problem is with the PS2 hardware, not your TV. But, you will notice a better quality picture. The component cables can carry a higher quality image and the HDTV can display that high quality image as well.

But the aliasing wont be crazy like it was in gt3? I'm sure there wont be alot of jaggies, you might have to look for them but if you are racing and enjoying your time, I doubt you'd notice them.

Actually, he's partially right. Scanlines on analog Television sets do make aliasing more appearant than on a screen which scans progressively. Besides that, you're absolutely right, the use of filters for oversampling or antialiasing is the only way to make the jaggies in any game less appearant since the fill rate of pixels is a lot slower than the viewing field.

Yeah what I was thinking. TVs are great for 'hiding' low resolutions. Hell Half-Life in 800x600 looks great on our 28" widescreen TV, but pixelated on my 17" monitor.

The most noticable sound is the blow off valve you hear from the 400R at 13 seconds in the out of car vid, the camera is on the Celica but you hear the 400R's BOV.

Yeah ok, I cranked my earmuffs and now I hear it. I cant wait to hear it after some mods!

Did anyone see the latest vid of the Nurb? It's a mixture of real life footage and ingame footage. The cars sounded real!!
