Pretty much anyone in a top spot in a stat category in the book has no life what so ever, and are not ashamed to admit it to the world.

I can't speak for anyone else, but to me, the recordbook became a way to set goals for myself and continue to play one of the greatest games of all time-- I've played other games and always come back to VC-- until I discovered this recordbook, I really had no reason to try and master any one race or stat or anything-- the competition becomes spirited at times and it pushes you to improve yourself--
Couldn't agree more.

My Cone Crazy was my best moment. The RC Bandit was good too.

KM - Thanks for not beating the crap out of my recordbook pride!

Spuds - Excellent post! I wish that I knew about this place when I first got VC, so I could've had time to take part in some of those "great moments in life" that make it worth living. :( (tears of joy)

I'm surprised I couldn't find any other decent recordbooks out there when I first went looking for them. I would have thought for a game with so much players and so much records to be broken, the internet would be awash with recordbooks and the like. But the only place I came across one that had good competition and regular updates was here on a Gran Turismo forum. Go figure.

Doesn't matter Dingo... now that you've got SA you can be amongst the first to start setting the records for the SA record book...

Yeah, that has always puzzled me. I don't think GTAForums.com has one. NeoSeeker has one, but that Forum is full of Noobs.

I'm sure Spuds will second me when I say: "Keep away from NeoSeeker. It's Newb-evil!"

(That was clever. A play on words I didn't realise. "Newb-evil" = "Newbieville".)

But anyway, I have just completed the preparation for the San Andreas Record Book. I could probably post it now (which wouldn't be a bad idea, considering the number of Threads taken away from other people on this Forum), but I'm not going to.

Just a reminder not to post there before I finish. ;)

well have fun guys, as my friend now has SA he has taken back his ps2 so i must wait until i can get a pstwo and SA. have fun and im sure it wont belong until i find the races and start posting some nice times.

Yeah, I realised there are some people that could be playing Vice City. If you are, feel free to keep posting your Records.

Exactly! It's the beginning of a whole new experience, and this time I'm here for it. :sly: It's going to be great!

It'll be a while before any SA record book gets underway properly but I'm already on the lookout for good spots for wheelies and stoppies and for good stunting spots. There's some great looking dry canals and the likes that could be had fun with in a PCJ.

GTAforums had a PS2 one---in fact Shannon copied the first version or ours from there (before I started coming here)--formating and everything-- I Embarrassed myself over there big time when I sort of accused them of copying this one-- was actually the other way around--anyway, the posts started dropping off and the administrator (azazel) got tired of updating and no one else wanted to do so they let it die over a year ago--

They do still have a PC recordbook over there but its hardly ever updated-- I did get the guy there to link to mine (for PS2 records) and I linked back to his for (PC records)

For KM regarding SA, I did notice the bike physics are a little different--I'm finding it hard to get good spin--- I did find one good spot and got an 1115 rotation (and I landed it). But it wasn't a way I got it in VC. The stoppies are hard (at least for me) with out the Dpad. Wheelies seem a bit easier--or maybe they are easier with the stick and I never new...

Yeah, well I found wheelies are tons easier, but I don't know about the previous games with the Stick. The bicycle is the easiest for wheelies. If you find a good spot to wheelie, I suggest using that.

Ahh, ok. I checked there, and couldn't find one. I couldn't be bothered searching or delving through heaps of pages, as I thought their's would be fairly active, too.

Also, funny about the embarrassing moment. I had one there where I thought I had an 8 on Cone Crazy, and I said I'd load it up and prove it. I think you were the main person that was absolutely assuring me I didn't have it without the Moving Cones glitch, and I swore I had. I loaded up to find a 14. My worst noob moment ever. I felt like an absolute idiot.

Jimmy -

Spuds - Off topic, but did you see the Prez?

You were talking about stoppies being hard on SA: 68 seconds with the bike!

this thread just died didnt it? oh well once SA wears off i might might play VC some more, but VC is in no way better than SA im afraid :(

I need to update my stats-- I never added the ones from my 17 hour 100% game-- I got a couple of "fewest in a 100% game" ones--- I wonder where my VC disk is??? :dopey:

I lent my PC and PS2 discs to a friend. He hasn't even played them yet. :grumpy:

I too would like to get them back. I'm pretty sure I left out some Records.

Well I've lent my Vice City game to a friend too, but he doesn't have a PS2 anymore so I need it. When I play through the game again to help me finish my strategy guide I'll try to do some records too.

I'm trying to view them but the site is slow....checking it out....nice find.

I haven't see any record better then one here--- KM would own that place as almost all of them are timed ones.

yeah.. i'd even have a couple of top 3 records for VC :) if you go to the forums they have a pretty long thread about SA and i believe they're working on getting a record book up for it.. i registered and mentioned our recordbook.. gotta go back to work now

Ok I found a couple of records better then ones here-- a 0:13 hotring lap time---they obviously don't know about starting the race to read the time-- I don't believe anyone got less then 14 seconds.

a 290 meter jump in a Rhino-- I don't think so

I went ahead and registered so I can wow people some of my records.

I registered, but when I tried to login, I can't get past the login screen--- it did mention me on the home page as the newest member....

It seems to be really slow at the moment. I've got a DSL connection and it's still taking an age for some pages to load.

edit: I've added my 4 Chopper Checkpoint trials and I'm going through the rest of the timed records and adding them.

KM.

I recommend anyone who's got the time to register and post their records. I haven't come across a record yet that one of the regulars here couldn't beat.

The only problem is that the site is REALLY slow. It takes about a minute just for a page to start loading.

But it'd be fun to have a mass assault on their site and beat all their records. It's just a pity it's basically timed records and not much else.

I've a feeling that I'm gonna be challenged on a lot of them and required to post proof. They have a forum for providing proof. I don't mind though, I still have my Vice City game and disk ready if I need to take a few snapshots.

KM.

Some of your screenshots might be linked to the recordbook (recent ones anyway)--otherwise you will be searching for a while.

I'm a dolt, I had to verify my registration by clicking a link in an email they sent me.

Spuds

Anything still linked in the recordbook I'll use. Anything else it'd be faster to take screenshots again. But some records like Alloy Wheels of Steel and The Driver I can't take shots of again because I never saved my game after them. I might have pics somewhere on my PC still though.

KM.

What are the Phil's Place jumps? I keep hearing about all these huge jumps and then it says "(Phils Place)" . PS. I got a 609ft jump in a Rhino. My previous record was 499ft on a PCJ.
