Well as I'm packing, guess what I can't find?! The bloody tickets and I have no idea where they would be but I think I might have tossed them by accident while cleaning them up.

Have fun gents! :)

And make sure you take a lot of photos!

I will take as many as I can! I'm ready to get there but still sitting at airport for awhile. Atleast they are willing to print my tickets again and allow me to pick them up downtown. Out of all the tracks, races; they have been the most friendly helpful people and always very easy to get ahold of someone to talk to or respond to emails within a day.

V8 Supercars in hot pursuit of fifth manufacturer

V8 Supercars commission chairman Mark Skaife is bullish on the possibility of seeing more manufacturers in the championship next season, hinting that a fifth player could be revealed towards the end of 2013.

Skaife confirmed that V8 Supercars is currently engaged with two manufacturers, hinting that a deal could be confirmed in the coming months.

I think seeing a BMW V8 supercar would be pretty awesome. 👍

Was trying to make plans to go to the race this weekend, but never came to light. Too much going on at work and around the house. I'll have to settle for the live coverage.

Hoping for my FPR guys to be up front and in the running for the win. Also gotta pull for Van Gisbergen and McLaughlin. Not only do they race in real life, but they frequent the iRacing V8 supercar races fairly often.👍

My first guess would be have to be Chrysler. Remember they were strongly linked with GRM last year.

And personally I'd love to see the 300c in V8 Supercar trim.

I'd guess Toyota is the likely manufacturer - they have Aurions in the NZ V8 Supercar championship after all.

Last months ZOO magazine linked Lexus.......

Next weeks Auto action cover links chrysler......

I see The GS in V8s. Big car, nice shape. I can just see all the Hybrid advertising on the rear bumper.

Yeah man, Texas don't play. Put it this way, that kid could use his skills as a mechanic in the State pen to good effect. May even be able to start his own jailhouse race team.

Didn't even realize they took jaywalking so serious but I'm sure there was more to the story as to why it got pressed anyway.

The Nissans sound bad ass. Totally not biased :D.
Practice just kicked off. Here's a few quick photos from my crappy camera:

Fords seem to be having trouble. Smoke, spins, and then this guy needed a tow... what's not captured though, is when the how line broke off a few corners before here:

And a couple quick ones from the second to last turn:

#15 Nissan's going fastest atm.
The Merc's look a lot cooler in person than in photos.

I will say they aren't nearly as loud as I expected, but amazing track all together. I think turn 1 grass Be where I sit.

Good snaps. That's what I love about V8s, they let you get right up in there. You can pretty much hand the tools to the mechanics.
Definitely agree with the NISMO cars sounding more "V8" than the FALCONS AND COMMODORES.
From memory, only F1 cars are louder than World Challenge cars. Those little things are LOUD! But, yeah V8s aren't as loud as they should be.

Well hot darn I didn't go to that part of the paddock, little jealous. Maybe I should venture over there in a minute.

This track is unreal but looks like Triple 888 hasn't quite figured this place out yet.

Good morning DRIFT4EVA, please would you be so kind to update the voting poll as to include the Nissan and Erebus Motorsport V8 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG? If it's possible. Thank you.

I can't wait to see an actual race! I think I have 5 lbs worth of posters now though, and ran into Betty. All in all I might need to move countries just for the racing!

I'm really jealous of all the Reynolds gear I've seen and fact that not of Ford teams brought any to sell.

Now would it be wrong if I wore a short with Outback on it from NASCAR team? It's alot cooler and comfy.

That's actually David Wall's Commodore. It's an easy enough mistake to make, with Wilson Security sponsoring one Holden and two Falcons.

THe coolest owner in the paddock. And that's exactly why I moved here(shh don't tell my wife)! :)
