Yeah, I'm fine with the idea of going to coupes now, as others have said the racing will stay the same and at the end of day that's all that really matters to me. 👍 It's going to suck though, not seeing homegrown Falcons and Commodores competing. :(

Skyline as in G37/Q60 or Skyline as in GT-R which is actually not a Skyline.

I do agree, even this season is a little different but racing didn't change in bad way. It's actually nice to see some of the new comers work their way up.

I would assume the G37/Q60 but who really knows to be honest. Nissan might keep a 4 door based on everything to try to push that car since that's one of the biggest reason they even came into it.

I'd prefer to keep it as sedans, it's not like Ford doesn't have a Mondeo or a Taurus.

Fusion?

Edit: That would be the Mondeo I think, stupid me.

Internationals impress in Nissan V8 test.
Nissan sportscar drivers Michael Krumm and Lucas Ordonez have both enjoyed their first drive of V8 Supercars at Winton today.

Krumm and Ordonez drove two of Nissan Motorsport's Altima V8 Supercars as part of the Nismo Global Driver Exchange, despite wet weather that saw rival team Brad Jones Racing cancel its planned running.

Krumm, a former Super GT champion, drove Rick Kelly's #15 Jack Daniel's Nissan Altima, while Ordonez, the inaugural Nissan GT Academy winner, was behind the wheel of James Moffat's #360 Norton Nissan Altima.

"Driving the V8 Supercar was quite an experience," said Krumm. "We prepared well, the team gave us all the information about the car, how it is to drive, but when you actually get it, they are awesome cars.

"The Nissan Altimas have a lot of power and not much downforce, so it's not what I'm used to, but it was much better to drive that I expected.

"It was great here at Winton. It's kind of a crazy track. It's a big challenge, bumpy and tight and has lots of different corners, but the cars are great fun.

Thats a big ask for a test day. Driving V8 Supercars for the first time and on the track that is about the furthest from the huge international tracks they are use too.

I like this part: “These guys will go back to Nismo in Japan, report on what they’ve done and they should be in the box seat to come out to Australia for the endurance races next year.” 👍

Hmm, makes me wonder if someone from PD will be at Bathurst this year...

There is to much going on for us not to think so,

Awesome in car picture, really good quality

Looks like a snippet from a video. Can't wait for that.

The Norton car is quite sexy...I love it so much, maybe because my daily driver looks similar :sly:

Sweet video. 👍

I don't care what people say about the Kelly brothers. They are smart.

As for the Super car showdown, If an Altima can place top 10 at Bathurst this year, i'd think the Kelly's may do a show. If an Altima places top 15 at the end of the Championship, i'd say it's a green light. Once the car gets the power, then i'm sure Nissan will make more cars as they stated. Can't wait!

I got a question regarding Bathurst and streaming, is the only option to buy the full option for rest of the season or will there be option per race?

I think alot thought that was a bad move to switch but they just are on a learning curve but huge to have factory support!

I think they do per race too, seen it recently.

R1600Turbo

Thanks! It's only race I really want to watch since most of the time I'm at work during other rounds. The great thing is watching older races on their YouTube. The battle between Bright and Courtney at Abu Dhabi was awesome to see, I enjoyed the look of the track but sucks it was such crappy turn out for it.

Ford Australia yet to commit to V8 Supercars.
The Blue Oval's presence in V8 Supercars beyond this season remains uncertain, despite a commitment to selling imported models in the Australian automotive market.

Ford Australia unveiled its future line-up beyond the end of Australian production and the retirement of the Falcon post-2016, but failed to commit to V8 Supercars beyond this season.

Ford currently provides backing for its factory team, Ford Performance Racing, who in turn provides technical support to customer team Dick Johnson Racing.

Ford Performance Racing's contract with Ford expires following the 2013 V8 Supercar season, in which Ford's presence is down to six entries across two teams compared to great rival Holden with 15 entries across seven teams.

Though Ford will retire the Falcon following the close of its production facilities in 2016, the manufacturer confirmed there will be an update to the model in 2014 featuring enhanced aerodynamics as a result of extensive engineering and design work.

Ford also announced an all-new medium-sized Ford Mondeo and confirmed that it will import a right-hand drive two-door Mustang coupe as the make's performance vehicle, but under the current V8 Supercar rules, only the Mondeo could be adapted to race in the series.

They need to make a decision soon, because if they decide to pull out, FPR will need time to find a new manufacture and get cars ready to race before the 2014 season starts...

They only need the shell. Tim Edwards said it's too late to get another manufacturer so they would run the 2014 Falcon body. All they're losing( if that's the case) is Ford backing. They could run the team just like GRM, BJR, DÁlberto, Tekno, all the smaller teams that pick and choose their parts.

Now, I don't know if someone like Richard Branson need to step in to save FPR/Pepsi Max Crew. Plus, I don't know how many extra chassis Triple 8 can make if Ford bow out. I remember Roland Dane saying he can only stretch his resources so far.

I'm not too worried. The cars just wont be a factory effort but, maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.

more word from Lucas http://www.speedcafe.com/2013/08/13/lucas-ordonez-eyeing-bathurst-double-in-2014/

Richard Branson would be worse for FPR rather than good he doesn't like long term commitments when motorsport is concerned.

heh, I'm just thinking someone with mega bucks. All these years of the Falcon, I wonder why Saleen and Roush were never called or even never made a special version. What might have been...

Hello all. Thank you to the person who updated the poll for me. I have just goe through a massive change going from New Zealand to the UK and have rarely had a chance to get on here, that and I wasn't sure how to update the poll haha. Hope you are all well and buzzing over the championship this season

I would just like to say that if they ever ditch the V8's in this series, it will be a very, very sad day. Just....that sound.

I believe the show is already in production, or they are advertising for people to take part in it, I was quite intoxicated when the ad popped up in youtube the other night whilst catching up on indycar,
