Yeah, that looks incredibly bland. It looks straight out of the Dunlop series, but even then there's more creative liveries in that tier.

Browsing user posts on the V8SC facebook page to see if anyone asked about SuperView yet before I went and asked about it, and there was a response on a question about it from V8SC, which said:

"We are hoping to release all the details regarding V8 SuperView in the next few days."

Better late than never I guess.

Few days? Um...first round starts soon.

It's probably a by-product of the late TV deal.

Probably so, but I don't see how hard it is to say ok...International viewers are welcome or just limit it atleast OR just offer a free stream for the first rounds of the year, not terribly hard.

Enough pace car stuff. V8SC need to change the rules and get these on the grid.

They can race. It's just a question of finding a team to run them and convincing Chrysler to support the project. Before he cut a deal with Volvo, Garry Rogers was trying to do just that.

Besides, the grid now has five manufacturers, which is as many as VESA thinks the category can accommodate. It's not a rule set in stone, but I think you will find they are anticipating more Nissans, Volvos and Mercedes once the Altima, S60 and E63 AMG prove competitive, and they want some room for those marques to grow into. If there are more manufacturers, they will be fighting to get two or three cars on the grid, rather than trying to expand.

I remember that. I also wonder if the Viper had/has anything to do with Chrysler spending money in motorsport again. I havent followed the Viper much. Because it would be a shame to wait too long to join V8s because of weighing whether to spend money on a different project.
As a side note, the old Chargers are on the TCM grid and Aussies still dig MOPAR. And with the Fiat 500s making a return to Bathurst next year, thats got to generate more interest from fans in the know, that want to see Chrysler back in V8 sedan racing.

Of course, I'm sure Chrysler have an eye on what GM HOLDEN and Ford are going to do in 2016.

Awful is the first word that came to my mind. Good thing he only has to run it for a few events, not a fan at all.

"Boring" and "uninteresting" is what comes to my mind.

Qualifying live now!

Good 1st session. @R1600Turbo won't be happy with the results though...
Very impressive for McLaughlin and Volvo to get 5th in the car's first qualifying session.

No Superview, but I managed to find a good stream. Hopefully it's open for the races this weekend as well.

Edit: All 5 makes in the top 6 in Q2, awesome. Incredible for Volvo sitting in P2 with McLaughlin!

Any stream links? Damn lazy people at V8SC procrastinating on the official stream. :grumpy:

Edit: never mind.

Nice to see Volvo, Mercedes and Nissan all at the pointy end of the grid - all five manufacturers are in the top six for race two.

The new Nissan aerodynamics make the car look ridiculous.

Great qualifying session. The volvo's have serious pace but I always enjoy Lowndes at the front. 5 manufacturers in the top 6 is a great start.

Awesome to see Scotty uo there in both sessions. Should be a good two races tomorrow...

Can't believe McLaughlin put the S60 on the front row. Just incredible.

Slightly disappointed that Courtney could only manage 8th for race 2 but I was encouraged by the pace that he and Slade showed in practice.

Percat's car doesn't look so bad in the flesh. It's got a couple of silver highlights through it that make it look better. It's the bonnet that makes it look awkward - the narrow orange strip and the black bulges make it look all puckered.

Yeah, maybe it was that picture or the fact that I'm not very observant but I didn't notice those Silver highlights at first. It does look better on the track. Same goes for Slade's car too actually, despite the very plain looking bonnet.

Great to see the Volvo P2 makes it hurt even more that I'll miss the race since I wont get to watch the action.

Just finished watching the qualifying. Im happy. The S60s are damn stable! Good words by McLaughlin in the after quali interview. He definitely made the right choice to stay. Tomorrow cant come soon enough.

It was in his interests to stay - remember what happened to Shane van Gisbergen? He was racing for SBR when they switched over to Mercedes. He then jumped through hoops, retiring from the sport and then making a comeback, to get out of his contract. Maybe he had a case, that he had expected the team to stay with Ford when he signed the contract (and given the difficulties the team subsequently faced, his fears may well have been genuine), but he was almost universally condemned by the fans for it. Almost overnight, he became the most-hated man in the sport.

No doubt McLaughlin's decision to stay was motivated by genuine loyalty - but it certainly will not hurt his image.

Does anyone know what channel V8SC is on in the UK. I've seen it on Motors TV but the picture quality is awful and it's normally an hour long highlight session about 3 weeks after the race. Quite interested in what'll happen this season now Volvo are in.

Also are there any season reviews on DVD?

That factory backing and no nonsense business sense by GR and Volvo is scary for what they achieved today. I love it!
Like I posted above, I'm happy with what I witnessed. I can see with my eyes the progress Erebus and NISMO have made. Scott "The Future" McLaughlin did a good thing today.
I dont care about predicting anything about race results. I'm ready for good racing from all 5 manufacturers.

You do know they're not really Nismo, right?

I've seen them in stores here in Australia - and I'm fairly certain you can get Bathurst in it's entirety - but I don't know if they get exported. And as far as I know, they dont really have much in the way of additional content.

If you can watch Region 4 DVDs, you might be able to order them online. Try JB HI-FI.

If I type Nissan Motorsport/Kelly Racing every time I mention the team, my thumbs are gonna fall off. 👍
