I don't know why you don't pack up and go home, my man gizzy is going to win any way.:sly:👍

Yeah, but everyone else is contracted to race. They'd probably have to retire from the sport to get out of it.

Street circuits=good time to start and park like in NASCAR :)

It's not permitted. And even if it was, Tekno would probably be the second team to do it, after Dumbrell.

I dig the banner. II'll be taking plenty of pics in two weeks time :)

SuperView info should be announced in a few hours.

V8s are switching from 7mate to 7 throughout the day, beginning at 2pm EST.
Short interview at Clipsal right now on 7

A few bits and pieces from James Warburton via Speedcafe's live updates:

- VESA want at least one international round in 2015, and will try to get as many as three.
- They are negotiating with at least five countries, but he did not say which ones.
- They consider twinning the Austin race with another event to be the best way forward, but Warburton did not say if this meant a second event in America or another series running at COTA that weekend.
- The search continues for a series title sponsor, so as to generate more revenue.
- VESA is pushing for more twilight races, despite the expense to circuit owners.
- RPM is coming back in 2015!

Back to the international expansion, I wonder if Brazil and/or Argentina would be an option. Winterbottom and Canto are going over to Sao Paulo for a Brazil Stock Car event at Interlagos, and Argentina's TC 2000 series is pretty similar, too.

Speedcafe.com @speedcafeWarburton on allowing two-door coupes in V8s: "We are actively talking to manufacturers about where they are heading". #V8SC

What is RPM?
It was an hour-long panel show that covered just about every form of motorsports imaginable. V8 Supercars was their bread and butter, but it was pretty good. Unfortunately, Bill Woods is now at Seven, Leigh Diffey went overseas with SPEED, and Barry Sheene died, so it's looking like Greg Rust - the least-knowledgeable man in motorsports (he can't tell the difference between a Red Bull and a Toro Rosso, even with an on-screen graphic) - will be host.

RPM at its best was a pretty good show.

Its return is all a part of TEN being in the new media deal or something. When TEN and ONE will show the free to air V8 races. Hopefully ( naturally ) the bulk of the experienced commentary team & pit reporters ( the 2 Marks ) will follow over and bring their talent, knowledge with them.

Not just Rusty trying to carry the show.

I hope Aaron Noonan gets a contract at TEN.

It's not ideal to split the events between free-to-air and pay television, but I think that Ten have chosen the right events to broadcast live.

With Bathurst being one of the few free to air rounds, I might go to the 12hr instead.
They say they will get more viewers this way but I am not so sure. The coverage on Foxtel is awesome, but the lack of coverage on FTA is crap. I can watch highlights on YT.

If this all helps to keep V8s alive, I'm for it. Just like DTM switches between coupes and sedans depending on what sells in the market for those marques. If the current teams, and new ones, join the series because of the exposure and cashflow, it cant be all bad to have 2doors on the grid. Who knows? Maybe Nissan wrap the chassis with Infiniti branding if the Altima sales are doing well(way too early for the speculating).

TWO MORE HOURS UNTIL V8 COVERAGE!!!!!

I can see Japan in this mix. Suzuka before F1 or Fuji on its own would be nice. I'd bet those venues would sell out.
Silverstone or Brands Hatch :)

That would be way too expensive for a series with just three international rounds. Holden could get away with rebadging the Commodore as a Chevrolet Lumina in America, since they're the same car, and Nissan might run an Altima in Infiniti colours if they pick up an extra car or two, but I can't see anyone putting out an entirely new model.

What about international viewers?

I hate to rain on all you international fans parade, but I really don't think v8sc rate you very highly (no offence meant.)

They do, but the priority has obviously been sorting out the domestic broadcast arrangements.

Isnt this going to be a rolling start?
