Ah, Channel Seven. While waiting for the race, there's some quality programming on. Like The Block "House Rules". And the ever-classy "Bogan Hunters".

Light rain falling at Barbagallo at the moment. Qualifying for today's 200km race is just to about start.

Great job by him to put the car in the top ten. 👍

Mostert is right there helping Frosty's chances to extend his lead. Will be an interesting race.

They'll work on his race pace later. If he can keep qualifying in the top 15 for the rest of the year, job well done.

He needs to concentrate on his race performances. It's not like he gradually slides down the order over the course of a race - he loses them over a lap. He puts up no fight whatsoever.

True but, better to start up the front and lose places than qualify P25 every race. I think he is doing better than Premats first year. I can only recall one DNF for Dahlgren by collision(AGP). Maybe he gets the elbows out this race (maybe not).

Hmmm, the Dunlop Series just wrapped up, and Seven's on-screen graphics say that qualifying for Race 16 will be live ...

Volvo struggling for race pace and Dahlgren embarrassing himself by going from 8th to second last in 5 laps. He needs to punt someone off to send a message that he wont be bullied on the track.

The commentators do raise a good point - at Barbagallo, one driver getting through usually means three getting through, and it's dirty off-line, so the effect is exaggerated. He was doing pretty well until some of the other drivers went through with their elbows out.

True but it seems like everybody regards him as easy meat; he needs to make an example out of someone I reckon.

Anyway, Scotty going backward too, so looks like its a Ford v Holden battle for the podium.

And Lee just lost 5 spots right there.

By pulling the same kind of move that Slade just did?

Great save by McLaughlin there after contact with Slade.

Now Tander is the latest to suffer a puncture.

And now Courtney suffers the same fate. :grumpy:

Wow, 4 left rear punctures. 2 each for Erebus and HRT make it likely they were just running too much pressure or camber rather than something to do with the track.

I'd say it's a combination of both. When there was a string of explosive blow-outs on last year's British Grand Prix, it was down to drivers running low pressures and hitting the leading edge of the kerbs. I'd say something similar is happening down at Turn 4.

Can't understand why FPR didn't pit Winterbottom sooner with the lap times Mostert and Lowndes are cutting on fresh rubber.

I'd say they know something that we don't, and that they have actually been racing Whincup rather than Lowndes for a while now.

They have given Frosty the number 2 scenario all weekend. Feels like the FPR of old this race.

Oh look, it's Bright and Tander... AGAIN!

Great win by Mostert, 10th different winner in 16 races this year. Nice top ten results for Wall, Moffat & Caruso too. 👍

So, NISMO come good as best of the rest. Good job.
Great for Mostert and FPR.

Well done Chaz on officialy making me look like an idiot. Bad luck for Scotty. Was it the repairs they had to do to the door that held him up? Missed most of the race so not to sure what happened. And finally, this is shaping up to be a good championship if Frosty can stay consistent. I now have no idea what im going to do for 5 weeks untill Darwin

He had problems with understeer, especially over longer stints and then got caught in traffic. The repairs didn't help, but he wouldn't have been a factor even without them.

SVG and McLaughlin aren't getting along:

It doesn't surprise me, really. I have thought for a while now that SVG jealously guards his position as "top Kiwi" and that, as a result, he feels threatened by McLaughlin. After all, McLaughlin's rise to prominence coincided with the backlash over SVG's move to Tekno, so I imagine a lot of SVG supporters switched camps. It probably galled when McLaughlin moved from one marque to another without any hassle. And SVG's early career was dominated by the label of "serial pest", whereas the other drivers have welcomed McLaughlin into the fold quite readily (although Whincup is probably sick of the sight of him).

Cheeseburger is either up the front or down the grid his whole career. I bet the whole grid was/is sick of Whincup for getting all the press the past 5 seasons.

No, I mean that Whincup duels with McLaughlin in almost every race.

Anyone with the V8 Superview, can you access race 16? Last night there was no sound, now it's not working at all for me.

Edit: Working now. Just watching everyone bully Robert Dahlgren. Poor guy, no respect for him out there what so ever.
