That 240, "powered by jandals".

@PAPAPEPE123. Thanks for sharing the pics. 👍
No worries. Was good fun to attend. Just wish that more V8SC teams did something like it. I know TEKNO had one today up in QLD but apart from that, there are no teams that do it. Its really good for the fans to get a behind the scenes look at how the team operates.

Alex Davison unscathed after testing accident.

That's one way to welcome yourself to the team.

My bad, didn't watch the video or click the link. :p

Probably should have quoted that bit of the article, oops.

Turns out my girlfriend's dad went to school with Russell Ingall. Rightfully, he hated Ingall because he got to drive karts. Also he was, apparently, a bit of a wet blanket back then.

Dragon Motor Racing confirms wildcard application.
Dunlop Series outfit Dragon Motor Racing has confirmed that it will lodge an application for a wildcard entry into this year’s Pirtek Enduro Cup.
The outfit recently purchased the two Holden Commodore VFs campaigned by Garry Rogers Motorsport in last year’s V8 Supercars Championship and has been working with the now factory Volvo squad on formulating a plan to field a wildcard.
“Dragon Motor Racing after many weeks of business planning have decided to lodge an application for a wildcard for the Pirtek Enduro Cup,” wrote Dragon owner Tony Klein on Dragon’s Facebook page.

Although a single-car Bathurst entry is the team’s most likely target, Klein is not ruling out appearances in the other Enduro Cup races at Sandown and the Gold Coast.

This is only a drawing for a different series (STCC) but, would be interesting as an alternative if other body styles are approved for V8s.

Erebus to pay tribute to Sir jack Brabham in Darwin.
The pair of Erebus E63s will be adorned with tributes to Australia’s greatest racing driver, Sir Jack Brabham, at Darwin’s SKYCITY Triple Crown 400.

A sticker depicting the three-time world F1 champion Brabham in his famous BT19 will stretch across the roofs of Will Davison and Lee Holdsworth’s Mercs at Hidden Valley.

Even though he mentions V8SC once, I hope they get some wins this season. I want Nissan in the top 5 every race.

A RWD Maxima on the Infiniti platform would be cool. Maybe a stretched iDX chassis for the Altima :)

That stock Altima looks so freakin badass with those racing wheels.

The Baird government has set aside $5 million for a second Bathurst circuit to be built:

http://www.speedcafe.com/2014/06/18/nsw-allocates-5m-second-bathurst-track/

The concept was proposed years ago, to build a shorter circuit around the Mount Panorama paddock and run a sprint round of the championship, but I thought it was dead in the water.

But the investment from the government is still less than 10% of what the project would need.

So basically leech money off the biggest race of the season because more money...

I really wouldn't care to see something prancing around as Bathurst's little sibling.

Actually, there is a severe shortage of permanent racing circuits here. Most are street circuits, like Adelaide, or temporary circuits, like Mallala. Building a shorter circuit adjacent to Mount Panorama makes sense because of the existing infrastructure. The venue could host a standard sprint round in the week before Bathurst, much like the Indianapolis road circuit hosted a race before the Indy 500.

I remember seeing you guys talk about that but still...why not something more original and located on its own?

I mean it's easy yeah but so what. I mean especially when you put it in the financial context where even though it's easier to do on paper, the funding is just as hard to find if those facilities weren't there. As for Indy, I hated the newer road course so that could be another reason why I don't like this idea I suppose.

Where would it go?

In terms of population distribution, the eastern coast of Australia is most dense. There's small clusters in Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and Tasmania, but all of the major population centres have exposure to the series. Even places like Newcastle do, being no more than an hour and a half away from Eastern Creek. There are a few places west of the Great Dividing Range like Tamworth and Armidale, but they are too small and the surrounding areas too sparsely populated. Likewise the Shoalhaven-Illawarra region and everything from Wollongong to the Victorian border. The only two possible areas are the Mid-North Coast, but the population is typically older and while there are large clusters in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay, they are really spread out. The other would be Albury-Wodonga on the Victorian border, but it faces similar problems to Tamworth, Armidale and the New England region, even if it is home to Brad Jones Racing.

And sure, there are other areas of other states, but this money is coming from the New South Wales state government.
