Why am I not surprised 👎 . Paul Morris is a pest and a **** driver, relying on his daddy's business to keep him in the business of punting real drivers off the circuit

yes i agree with your comments...i think he should step aside to get a new up and coming driver to fill his seat

While I'll agree that Paul Morris has caused plenty of mistakes in the past, I do believe the incident in Bahrain was a racing incident, just three cars all going for the same peice of road.

Gareth Tander Wins V8 Supercar Championship For 2008

HOLDEN WIN CONSTRUCTORS CHAMPIONSHIP

Definately the best championship for a while and finaaly Garth Tander gets (what i think) his long deserved championship.

Weird fact: Both Tander and Whincup Both have raced for GRM at some point full time. Does this mean that Holdsworth will be the next big thing?

Meanwhile in other V8 Supercars news...

V8 Supercars get massive endorsement from American sporting great
One of the biggest names in world motorsport wants to race in the V8 Supercar Championship Series in the future after giving Australia’s premier category a massive endorsement at Phillip Island today.

Dale Earnhardt Jnr, recently voted in the top five of America’s five biggest sporting names, was so impressed with the sport that he now wants to drive. Earnhardt is a veteran of America’s second biggest sport, NASCAR, and the son of legend Dale Earnhart.

This may seem out of topic but this is Bathurst's lap record. Found it a couple days ago. For those of you that dont know Greg Murphys time was a
2'06.859.

You only need the 3sDDsMIyDiw bit in the tags.

Glad a Kiwi holds the record, but he did it in the wrong car :p

he did excedingly well. i remember watchin that lap and im glad he did it in a holden

new comer SHANE VAN GISBERGAN move to SBR from TEAM KIWI RACING

I've been hearing Russell Ingall to PMM... That would be aweful, though I hear they'll use Walkinshaw Performance engines (maybe they already do?).

Tander will be at HRT for sure.
Ingall has gone to PMM.
Supercheap to PMM.
Van Gisbergen has already signed with SBR, he has been on loan to TKR.
PWR is finished.
Dumbrell to HSVDT.
BJR to Holden.
McConville to BJR?
Youlden, van Gisbergen, Owen, Besnard or Webb for the second and third SBR car.
Toll to HRT?
Autobahn to HSVDT?
Bargwanna out of WPS?
Wills to WPS?
Marshall to Britek?
A Davison to PCR?
Not to mention what may happen with the second PWR licence or the new Walden team.

In regards to the Garth Tander moving to HRT. His move maybe for the same reson as when Murphy moved away from what was known as Kmart racing. The team owner is none other than Rick (and Todds) Kellys father. Rick kelly has been racing for the (virtually) same team since he started. Rick Kelly has always wanted to be no1 in the team. This is why Murph left and possibly the same reason for Tander. Paul Dumbrell, while I have no question towards his talent will be the clear No2 in the team.

In regard to TKR, Ive been a large supporter since their inception but the death bells are tolling for them, no Ford teams want to be in a partnership with them because they cant pay for the cars, with the loss of FPR support and now the alliance with SBR looking ominous it's only going to a short time before they collapse and declare bankruptncy

(Just opinons)

oh yeah, GO MURPH!!!

Tander's move to HRT was Walkinshaw's and Holden's doing. It is part of their plan to get HRT back to being the leading Holden team. Garth's mechanic and engineer have moved with him as has the Toll sponsorship.

Like i said it was just an opinion and with regard to the HRT deal Mark Skaife literally gave it away after the first race when he was quoted as saying "If it was anyone else I would of made it a bit harder" this was in reference to when he let Tander past in the first race

i agree with that quote and the tone he said it in...

New season, new liveries! In no particular order ...

HRT, ugly as sin. I looks alright until you realise it's day-glo red. Tander was signed becuase "he's the future of HSV" (translation: they wanted to run the #1 again).

HSV run two liveries this time around; Reckless Rick Kelly's effort looks good (shame about the driver), while Paul Dumbrell (replacing Tander) gets this bland strip.

Jack Daniels looks better, too, abandoning their minimlist effort from last year.

Britek also run two liveries, with #25 being brighter than in 2007. If you think the #26 Irwin machine looks like a NSCAR, you're not far wrong; the #26 in the Nextel Cup looks very similar.

The Beam Team haven't updated much, but if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Triple Eight make some minor adjustments, making their cars look equal parts sex and dangerous. If last year's car was Honey Ryder, this one is Pussy Galore.

SBR keep JELD-WEN for James Courtney, but they're doing what BAR did in their first season. However, this actually looks good (though I like the Corinthian side more than the Stegbar one). With Ingall off to Supercheap Auto, Shane van Gisbergen takes over duties as the driver of car #9, which also looks pretty good.

Newcomer Ford Rising Stars run this all-green ... thing, but don't expect them on the grid until round two at the earliest.

Team BOC probably have the biggest change as they've defected and will now be running under the Holden banner.

WPS Racing get a few new minor sponsors - namely LG and The Coffee Club - for car #8, but again, it's more of the same. I'm yet to see Bargwanna's car.

Supercheap Auto Racing join forces with Team Sirromet (you'll have to flip a few pages to find it) for this unweildly-looking yellow thing. I hear the Enforcer wants to be competitive from the beginning ...

And Rod Nash Racing (car 55; again you'll have to flip through the pages to find it) needed to find a new sponsor as Autobahn went with Dumbrell to HSV. Like the Ford Rising Stars, it ain't pretty, but hopefully we won't have to look at either too much as they'll be at the back of the pack.

I'm yet to see the cars from FPR, Gary Rogers, Bargwanna's entry or those from Team Kiwi, Walden Motorsport, Paul Weel Racing or Paul Cruickshank Racing.

nice update i was about to throw one in but i was beaten

This years liveries are, not the worst, but just... not good. Although, I've grown to like some of them. Still, I'm looking forward to the Clipsal 500 in a few weeks. This year we'll be sitting in the Pirie Street grandstand, at the beginning of Brock Straight. Should be an awesome few days.

yes i was workin on it but hey nice job

I'm yet to see the cars from FPR, Gary Rogers, Bargwanna's entry or those from Team Kiwi, Walden Motorsport, Paul Weel Racing or Paul Cruickshank Racing.
We may never know what Bargwanna's car was going to look like as Craig Gore has pulled the shutters down on WPS/WOW racing due to his health and other business commitments.
It seems at this point he is still involved with Derek Walker and Will Power in Champ Car and Marcos Ambrose in NASCAR while the WPS sponsorship of the V8 Supercar Safety Car will continue. No word on the Carrera Cup, Aussie Racing Cars, Bathurst 12 hour, Formula Atlantic or the Gold Coast Indy event sponsorships.
One of the licences has been sold to Perkins (where did HIS licence go?) and the other one may have been bought back by TEGA. All of this comes after recent news that Tony Cochrane would like to see the field decrease to 26 or 28 cars in the near future with the leading cars from the Fujitsu series topping up the grid at Bathurst.

With PWR selling one of their licences to Walden and not being able to find a buyer for the other licence they are commiting to running a car rather than paying the $250,000 fine for each round missed. The car is largely sponsored by PWR products.

Don't be too sure about that. Steve Owen finished 19th in the series last year ahead of other full time drivers Paul Radisich, Jason Bright, Paul Dumbrell, Paul Morris, John Bowe and Cameron McConville in an old VZ Commodore. It'll be interesting to see how D'Alberto goes in a new VE though it is disapointing that Steve Owen hasn't got a drive this year. After some of the excellent performances he has put in over the last couple of years with RNR how is he still being overlooked?
