Attending Bathurst in '03, I was standing on top of the mountain (just before McPhillamy Park) as 28 angry V8's screamed past. Glorious.

Yeah but it's pretty awful as you have to pick up the pace because you don't want to miss anything.

Very close now guys,cant wait,very toey.Nice pics.Only 3 days live on TV,no streaming thurday or friday morning.Why cant they stream thursday/friday morning??.Cameras are there.Pig doesnt like stupidity,especially when i look in the mirror

I have to move this weekend I think, and my computer is still eff'd. So going to miss the race. :(

Yep,thats me,just trying to help people watch something that i love,dont want $$ or care how many watch.
3 days of TV this year at Bathurst.Full meeting schedule at

They would need to evict me at Bathurst time,i wouldnt leave the house,my JTV channel is for anybody.No clowns or rudeness

As predicted, Karl Reindler gets a specila livery for Bathurst ... and it's a bit of a let-down.

Then again, it is Karl Reindler. It's not like he's going to do anything phenomenal.

Sure the "special" Bathurst livery is a little plain and boring. Honestly though, I don't mind it that much.

His race-winning 1984 design.
We'll see how true that is in the morning.

Reports from the circuit also suggest that HRT defiantely have special liveries planned.

I doubt Lowndes would use the number 05, though. I believe it has been formally retired, so he's likely to keep using 888. Although if anyone has the right to use the number 05, it's Craig Lowndes.

I've also heard that Whincup will have a special livery for the race, though that remains to be seen.

FANTASTIC,wish i was there this weekend,even the "vodafone" letters look just black,like the ol Marlboro cars of the 70's/80's.Looking at the weather it seems Sunday will be a bit colder than thursday-saturday,dare i say it rain even :boggled: although these days the teams should be prepared for it.Wish i could watch thursday action from the mountain but it must only be for track CCTV,that really sucks big time,why not just let the feed be viewed online,just for us Aussies if need be.

OK then, scratch what I said about the Marlboro livery. They've actually made it work, in my opinion, quite cheekily (Notice the chevron is upside down)
 
Well interesting it will that weekend! I'm curious to see ticket prices though because I'd love to go, but I'm not up for paying the F1 type prices.
 
Me either. I already figure hotel + rental car will run me near $1,000 for the weekend.

They appear to be trying to lure NASCAR drivers over to compete in the event ... but they don't seem to realise that the best NASCAR drivers will likely be at the All-Star Race. After all, why take a Brad Keselowski when you can have a Travis Kvapil on the grid?

It wouldn't surprise me if they were trying to get Indycar drivers into the fold as well. The series already has a pretty good relationship with Indycar, given that a lot of their drivers commute to Surfers' Paradise for the Gold Coast 600.
