Are you kidding?
So which vocalists impress you most?

And also, what impresses you more- a powerhouse voice or a softer but pitch-perfect one?

I find Jill Gioia to have an amazing voice. The wow factor begins at 0:42.

Neko Case of the New Pornographers
and even more so, AC newman's niece Kathryn Calder who subs in for Neko Case when she can't be with the band.

Bob

Robert Plant (Zeppelin)
Liz Frazer (Cocteau Twins)
Stevie Wonder

To name but a few...

Sir Russell Allen from Symphony X, I'm so jealous of his voice! I'll post a video later when I'm home.

But the master of all is Freddie Mercury.

As far as single tracks go, one of my favorite perfomances is from Clare Torry in Pink Floyd's Great Gig in the Sky.

Spectacular vocals.

Maurice White's (Earth Wind and Fire) voice has always gotten my attention, mainly because he uses the upper ranges of his voice to amazing effect.

Yeah, I love that song too.

Anyway, here's a song with Russell Allen. This is from the Star One project, he's the one not dressed in space-geek clothes:

One more from Star One:

And from Freddie Mercury, one of my favorite Queen's songs:

Nikola Sarcevic of Millencolin has an awesome voice. I didn't really notice how good his voice is untill I heard his solo work though. First time I listened to his debut solo album Lock-Sport-Krock I was amazed.

My boy Dietrich's voice makes me happy :):

Also, Piero Cappuccilli (the lower one) has an awesome voice. The end is really cool:

My favorite vocalist ever is David Gilmour... his voice gives me chills

Also, I have no idea how to embed YouTub videos in forum posts.
Too bad he can't enunciate to save his soul.

BTW, if you're using the [ youtube ] tags, you only put the vide's ID number inside the tags, not the whole URL.

On-topic: Margot Timmins makes my hair stand up on The Trinity Session.

Chris Barnes

Fish, back in the Marillion days... I haven't really listened to anything he's played after.

Sharon den Adel (from Within Temptation)

Floor Jansen (from After Forever)
