I want realistic power/torque outputs/curves from tuning an engine.

In past GT's, if tuning a normally aspirated engine (as an example) a 2litre 4 cylinder from 150BHP TO 350BHP, often the RPM where peak power is produced would hardly rise which is VERY unrealistic - as well as the peak torque figure being way too high for an NA 2000cc engine. I have never heard of a 2litre NA engine producing over 300ft/lb without the help of a Turbo or Supercharger!!

To achieve big power gains from an NA engine, you have to increase rpm's. 100bhp per litre peak BHP outputs are normally produced between appox 68000/7500rpm, 200bhp per litre is 13400rpm to 15000rpm, dending on config/spec/cylinders/bore/stroke etc of the motor.

I would exspect a 2litre NA engine with 350bhp to produce it's peak BHP higher than 6800rpm.

Also, it is almost impossible for an NA engine to produce 100 ft/lbs of torque per litre, no matter how hard or high it revs or how much peak power it has.

Although F1 cars are 700/800bhp there peak torque is certainly under 300ft/lb

Nice post

Traction pad

After watching the videos in the racing school thread and trying to tune my own cars (unsuccessfully so far) I would like to put in a vote for a traction pad or circle where I could quickly test suspension settings or practice recovering from over/under steer. As long as it is a wish list... one with smooth and one with rough surfaces.

Configurable Side Views

It would be nice to be able to have some simulated peripheral vision. This could by being able to turn on and off or just have it included where you can see "more" left and right. This would enable you to see if someone is on your left or right before cutting them off on a corner.

I'd say that there needs to be more tracks. I'd take Nurburgring F1 Circuit and Nordschleife, El Capitan and Opera Paris. Al though, I do expect them actually not to make another update, since we're so close to the real thing. Also, a lot less online lag and the option to upgrade vehicle parts in quick tune.

Forgive me, I'm a noob and literally just found this place... lol
That being said , I'm also an auto enthusiast, a motorcycle club sportbike racer (WSMC #852) and a long time (20+ years) gamer who's been hooked on GT since it first came out!
This may be a long shot, but as far as tracks are concerned, how about the new world class Miller Motorsports Park in Utah? Indi? Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, Ca ("The Fastest Road In the West")? Spring Mountain Raceway in Pahrump Nevada?

This IS actually a longer shot, but maybe... just maybe throw in 1 (to a few lol) motorcyclyes... ala Tourest Trophy?

Just posted this on the front page, so we should see more votes shortly. I've also upped the vote allocation to 20, so if you think you've already spent all your votes, you can go back to the site and you'll find 10 more at your disposal.

I posted the idea 'bumpier tracks', 9th ranked. I think there's some misunderstanding about my idea, but I can't change the text itself to clear it up.

I don't want more tracks with lots of bumps in them, I want all tracks in GT to 'feel' bumpier. Take this clip for example:

Sure, it's a real race car. But you all know suzuka by heart by now. You know how smooth it feels, but this vid proves it's certainly not the case in real life!
We still have a long way to go in overall physics, pay attention to how many times this guy countersteers and how easily the cars slides, and just as quickly recovers.

Dave, as I mentioned in my last post, you now have 20 votes to spread around.

Added 10 more votes...great lists so far...👍

hope more people vote, who knows what new great ideas we can give PD...👍👍

I would like to voice a vote for something(s) I think would reduce frustration, at least for me...

I would like to see who and how many people are racing on a giving track at a given time and...

I would like to be able to watch a race as a spectator, being able to move around or go from bumper cam to bumper cam.

There you go!

i hope loads of Aston Martins... DB9, DBS, DBR9, Vantage, Vantage S... those would be nice to have. also, the new Camaro and ZR1

Personal stat tracker/profile available online and on the game... tracks win/losses overall, track w/l, class w/l, online w/l, offline w,l, best cars, best laps overall, best laps by car... stuff like that

I would like to see:

- The possibility of false starts
You'd have to time your start by watching the lights above the start line. Maybe a seperate window with the lights can help the cars further down the grid.

- Visual changes according to the settings I use on my car
This would include being able to see what kind of tyres are on the car (grooved -> sports/normal, slicks -> racing), lowered ride height, suspension settings (I'm not sure if this is visible in replays for example), as far as seeing if a car has high or low downforce settings (according to the angle of the rear wing)
For example: If I take the Lancia Delta out for a drive on R tyres, you can clearly see the deep grooves in the tyres in the replay. Not very realistic :)

- Some sort of symbol that shows if you already bought a car in the dealer shop or not
I might have missed it, but as far as I can see there's no indication whatsoever if you already bought a specific car or not (when you're in the menu of a dealer). With the full GT5 having more than 500 cars, this will become a problem. Just put a little button that shows us if we bought it already or not, including in what colour preferbly.

Since Daytona has been added to the list of tracks there may be a chance 1 or 3 Daytona Prototypes may be added to the car list.

Another thing that isn't so hard is more detailed race results.
Just show us which tyre compound everyone is on, and the horsepower maybe.
And show us who drove the fastest lap!

Aston Martins are better than Jags... haha, with all do respect

Hmmm

Not all Aston's are better than Jag's ;)

Jordan, someone should clean up the idea board. At least half of the new ideas already exist, and it doens't seem to change anything if you flag them als duplicates.

Jordan,is anything going to happen with these vote lists??
its been silent for a while and there are several votes double or tripple posted...

are you going to make it final some time ??

still think there are many great ideas in there...hope some of them where noticed by PD...:)

Every time I play a new GT game I'm always a bit disappointed not to find a Ford Escort RS Cosworth, come on PD this is a vital car that should be in the series.

Would be really great if we could get the top 20 to happen. Those would make the game unforgettable.

Bolg: that's cause americans didn't get a cossie escort. OUR escorts were econoboxes only. when they tried to make a hot-rod escort for over here, insta-flop
