I'll be online in a little while to test with you guys.

Okay then, so a 1:00.296 is my best time in the Integra at 1150kg and 276 bhp. I think I'll stick with the Integra.

During the week between our speed tests, I'll be asking EVERYONE to confirm their car choice.

Also, I'm very sorry to say that we cannot visit Daytona because of the lack of start boxes. We could visit High Speed Ring, Le Mans, Monza or Indy Oval this coming week, as I'm just dying of curiosity about top speeds in drafting.

If one car is significantly faster in the straights, it'll be seen at those tracks.

Finally, after Tsukuba, and our speed test track, we will be deciding and finalizing our cars and tracks,.

I would like to test the Pontiac Solstice Concept '02 276 bhp 1100 kg.

I'm in Mr.M's practice lobby if anybody wants to join

2 days... Good timing cnd. Approved for testing.

Norm, coming now.

At 276 hp and 1150 kgs the Integra might be my pick too!!! :) However, it's listed in the specs at 246 hp and 1200 kgs:grumpy:

Yeah, but the car seriously suffers from lack of top speed, so I tested it at 276 kg and 1100 kg (Like the Civic) and I'm not far behind them, then tried 1150 kg because I have more play with the ballast.

Well if the specs are officially changed at some point, I'll give the Integra a serious look. It's one of the best cars around 450PP in the game.

Do you think it's ok Mel if we are allowed to try out a couple of different cars at Tsukuba on Saturday? It's not an official race and it's always a good idea to test cars out in competition as opposed to running hot laps.

Trying to join your room Mel and it says I have network incompatibility with the host:scared::ouch::sick::yuck::grumpy: If at all possible, whoever is the host at this point might leave and comeback putting someone else in the lead spot...not sure what else to suggest...:grumpy:

I just happened to see one in the ucd and thought what the heck.

Its too much hp and needs to go up in weight...right?

My best lap time was 1.00.355. My focus ran a 59.838. MrMel and Johnny were there to witness it. I think norm and Seth were there as well.

I like the idea of testing new cars.

THEREFORE, I'm announcing a little something as a bonus: Sign up for a car with another person during the next three weeks, and get $3,000,000 credits. (I gift out valuable cars, worth $500,000 each)

This is mainly because there's such a huge spread of teams, with like 6 teams, but only 2 teams with two drivers.

Also, if you're already on a team, you get $3,000,000 in cars too. ;)

So, what this means; visit my profile. I've put some great Team Cars up (though not tuned/painted) on my profile.

If you're a team owner, send your car and your tune around. (Post a duplicate online for testing.)

If you're looking to create a Team, do it now, for the $3,000,000 credits.

If you're looking to join a team, say so! This helps people find you.

Teams as of now:

Championship Honda-MrMelancholy15/Polarbear345 (Honda Civic Type R)
JZR-Birel349/Racingzack (Honda Civic Type R)
MAFIA Motorsports-cnd01 (Focus ST)
Jormo Racing-NizmoDR3 (BMW 135i)
Air Racing-the_Boyce (Volvo C30)

MAFIA Motorsports is having team tryouts tomorrow. Post or PM me if you need a Focus. I would like to run some laps at different tracks. I will need to see your ability to set up a car, run consistent, fast laps, and show good teamwork qualities. Let me know if you are interested. We can set up a time for a meet up. I have a somewhat flexible schedule.

Well, I guess my team is Toyota Team TMG! :)

P.S. And let the seasonals in the Prius or FT86 begin.

You'll get your stuff, guys. Just keep in mind, 1 car per day gift rule.

P.P.S. Thank god for login bonus. I've kept it at 200% since like April. ;)

P.P.P.: Thank you Enzo Ferrari, for having the ideal "send money car" named after you, post mortem. Umm, shame about the dead bit though.

Considering the importance of aerodynamics, though, in modern F1, he's in a better place.

I haven't paid much attention to the team thing to be honest. I'd be willing to join a team but I for sure won't make every race and that would just hold someone back from winning a points title.:grumpy: If you're on a team do you both have to run the same car or just the same colours?

Well, I painted it a good shade of red, so here it is!

The little Beemer is up for share. Just send me a FR if you are keen to test it ...

I´m stuck with 3 Cars:
Mazda RX-8
RUF 3400S
and
Toyota 86 GT

Will test them further (I don´t like FWD´s but them are fast too).

I'd do the RUF, but it's almost unfair to be in that car! Tire wear is great on top of it's phenomenal speed and handling.

Thats also the case for the RX-8.

=> I´ll be running the 86GT too.

So if you seth have space for a Team-mate I´d like to join you :D
(What Red did you use ?? just for colour matching, will use other Rim-colour)

I'm probably going to get thrashed for this ... but anyways
:nervous:
If this is officially called "The International Touring Car Championship" then why are sports cars allowed in the series?

Isn't this Touring Car Racing?

Call me a purist ...

I guess the whole "You may use any car on this list, or any similar car." statement was painted with a really broad stroke.

A few of us did some testing at Monza, RC Indy and Tsukuba last night. As always Tsukuba is a tough track to pass on, and with the high grip/cornering speeds of these cars and the relatively low power and little draft effect, it's going to be tough to get by, even the cars that are a bit off the pace. Patience will be required on the part of all the drivers and accepting the fact that you are highly unlikely to go from back to front in a reverse grid race given the strength of the field.

Combine that with Mel's front wheels must be in front of they rear wheels of the lead driver before braking passing rule and it may take you a one or a few laps to set up a pass on a car in front of you at this track. Cnd and I had a great battle in one race where we ran nose to tail for 5 laps and we couldn't pass until one of us made a small error. Was great fun, great, clean racing, every lap in the 1:00's, but it would have been ruined if one of us had come from 30 feet back under braking and used the other car as a guardrail to get by.

Keep it clean, be patient and we'll have a great race on Saturday.:)

I know these are sprint races. But why not make them a little longer? If I knew the races would be longer I would take the time to set up a pass.

The race I'm most concerned about is the 6 lapper at the end. Take a grid of near identical cars, with a dozen or more very competitive drivers and try to go from front to back in 6 laps and....well...it's not a recipe for clean, respectful driving. I think last week's event at GVE Reverse was pretty good the first two races, but the 6 lapper was awful in terms of respect and racing clean.

I'd rather see 2-20 lappers or 3-15 lappers....💡

For me the sprint race at the end seems a good idea in theory, but on a tight track like tsukuba it wont work, k1m, although my team mate, showed at gve how easy it is to wreck a race for other people. He went over the top on lundges as it was 6 laps and pretty much cleared half the field off the track in the attempt, and that was on a track that is wide and long. With tsukuba been so tight and only 6 laps the drivers who start at the back are going to make 6 places up at the most, 1 overtake per lap if a car makes a mistake, and no matter how much people try and avoid contact if there is no chance of overtaking people are going to try and force a move, not clearing the car off the track but tapping someone wide in frustration, or as the track is so small by pure accident:nervous::nervous::nervous:

We ran a few races with 4 or 5 cars at Tsukuba last night all of them having five laps. Each race went clean. Granted the fastest cars aren't starting behind 10+ other contestants. As a competitor, I like the challenge of trying to pass as many cars as possible in as little amount of time. I like the five lapper. As long as we don't go overboard with dive-bombs and blocks like we did at Grand Valley East.

i see ur point and i enjoyed the sprint race most as well, although that might be because i was second:sly:, but im just saying that there is a much higher risk of contact, and as in actuall touring cars we might see people giving each other nudges to make a gap, either through frustration, or an error caused by being stuck behind another car
