Thanks! So, the Motegi East circuit is around the same lap times as Madrid Reverse. :sly: I don't mean anything by it. No... Nothing to see here... move along...

That does give a good gauge as to how many laps to run. Motegi could be like an all-star race. Have a prize and a special set of rules because I bet someone won't buy it. More or less a shootout. I will buy it as soon as I get off of work.

I'm online now and I need company, so please join!

Sorry bro I am stuck at work probably for another 2 or 3 hours depending on when the golfers get done.

I'll be online for a little while, no rush.

So, Division 1 & 2 lobbies are up. This weekend, we will be in the Division lounges corresponding to the drivers.

All Team of Stewards members are in Division 1. Division 2 will race 1 hour before Division 1 practice. The ToS will have at least one representative in Division 2, who will spectate, organize and save replays.

Since we have 4 on the ToS, could we just assign 2 to each division?

Ran a 1:29.346 on softs. My first time testing here. Ran 1:30.8 on mediums. I know it can get faster, front tires will lose a bit of their grip though, so it's hard to keep 1:29's consistently. I don't think it'll be possible.

I'm a few tenths slower but I can hold it consistent until the tires drop off.

I ran 29's and 30's consistently, just not 29's every lap. I did 1:29.3, 1:30.1, 1:29.6, 1:30.3 etc. It doesn't matter much because there isn't much space in between the times. I'm jumping back online here in a minute.

I just had a thought. Why not just keep D1 & D2 points separate? Then if someone is deemed to be in the wrong division, apply an average points per race weekend. That way if someone's put down to D2 or visa versa, they are still competitive. Of course with the extra races after season's over, this could be replaced.

Here's my times in the S2000 at 256hp/1150kg...

  • Circuito de Madrid reverse /1:30.227
  • Cape Ring Inside /0:54:076
  • Tsukuba (with MotoGP chicane) /1:00.473
  • Grand Valley East Reverse /1:07.936
  • Rome /1:16.836

I'll be getting motegi once I get home! I wish I could get it now though!

And it could be a all star race, or a endurance race.... Or a all star Endurace race....

What are the d2 times for Madrid? I want to know just how much they are varying.

Mrm, being an aussie, im not able to get motegi just yet, and may not be able to for some time,

Keeping D1 and D2 separate and having separate titles for each is probably the best idea. I think we come up with a system to move drivers up and down up until a certain point in the season, say halfway, after which everyone is fixed in their division. Anyone new into the series at that point can qualify, and run in whichever division they qualify in but maybe not race for points so they have no incentive to sandbag or cheat.

I believe if someone has to move down after a couple of races, they should bring some kind of point bonus with them, and someone who is a consistent winner or podium finisher in D2 and moves up, should probably get a small points deduction so that it isn't possible for them to be ahead of the D1 leader. Here's an example and this is just being pulled out of my 🤬 so focus on the method not the actual numbers:sly: For example you could say that anyone moving up from D2 to D1 can bring up all his points to a maximum of the D1 leader less 10%. So if the D1 leader had say 270 points after 3 rounds, the D2 person moving up could have a maximum of 243 points. That'll put them within striking distance for sure, but with some work to do. I think most people would agree a formula along those lines is fair.

So after halfway everyone is where they are going to stay, and you are now racing for either the D1 or D2 title.

I think it's pretty funny too, but it's also probably against the AUP (GTP Rules). And since Mel chasitised someone once for using the term "Brit", he probably won't be happy about this either. But I'll be using it tomorrow..:sly:

"Bloody Brit" because my family doesn't use "Bloody."

I guess my definitions of curse words might be a bit different.

Also, I clarified it already: EVERYONE is at risk of Division bumping. Everyone who qualifies in D1 gets 20 bonus points.

So, because Norm, for example, has run some good races, and kept a consistent lap time spread, he will be in Division 1. This means that Norm will get 20 points for qualification in Division 1, and 21 for pole. Division 2 drivers will use the practice and such to get into Division 1, to be eligible for the extra 20 points.

So, it's an incentive to finish as well as possible in every race. Once you fall out of the Top 12 (12 top finishers for D1) you'll be considered for a Division bump to Division 2. Anyone on the podium in D2 who runs quick lap times will be considered for a Division bump to D1.

Thanks for clarifying this for everyone. I would like to know your opinion on the suspended start this week or single file starts.

is the "drivers meeting"thread linked to this one or is it a new thread?

Dave, it's in my signature.

It discusses every track in detail and is the "APOLOGY hotspot."

It's my "Drivers may be drivers" thread, where drivers should discuss their little "sorry for taking the line..." after the Round.

also you gents continue to talk about previous races, are these on youtube???

yea i found it, thanks, still looking for the races tho...

thanks
