No problem. Notice that lead that Nizmo built up in a few corners at the start of Race 3 there. He got a very good start. I think the Subaru will be a strong competitor now.

that would have to be the cleanest race ive ever witnessed on gt5, well done guys,

bahahaha, i would like to think so, i was worried about tires lasting, but when i read about mandatory pit stops, im not now, lol, i havent heard from nizmodr3 yet so i dont know if he likes the new setup,

also with tsukuba, do we use the chicane?

What tires are you guys running these 1'29's on? I'm running 1'33's on SS, but on RS I'm hitting 1'29's
And are wings allowed?

racing softs and racing mediums, what car have u got?

i havent seen any aero, so i wouldnt believe so, and with the low hp its not really needed

Dave, after you make a post, you'll see the normal "Quote" button, and an "Edit" button. "Edit" allows you to change a post you made. Certainly, we don't expect you to edit EVERY post you make, but, making two or three posts before anyone replies could leave people "skipping" your posts.

Joe, we don't use rear spoilers, for downforce. We use all other aero parts, that are below the boot lid. So, front bumpers, extensions and rear bumpers are fair game.

We use Racing softs to run the 1:29s. I'm glad to hear that you've found the right pace to be competitive in the series. Naturally, I wasn't too worried.

Dave, we did run the Tsukuba chicane, and likely will again at our normal season race at Tsukuba. That's Round 7 though, so it's still 6 weeks away.

As for the cleanest race on GT5, we do our absolute best to keep the racing clean. Thanks for noticing. :)

Certainly, everyone would be quite worried about tire wear, if we didn't force pit stops. However, because pit strategy *is* a part of this series, but unnecessarily slowing down to conserve tires *isn't* a part of this series, most of us just run the fastest, most consistent lap times we can, and finish on a one-stop strategy.

Ok ...

Times in my testing last night don't look that fast, probably due to lack of knowledge of the track.
But I learnt a little something something from a certain Tune School so I'm confident I will get fast ... just focusing on being smooth at the moment ... :sly:

BUT ... the biggest factor that I'm impressed about is the fact that my RS is lasting 10/11 laps will hovering around my fastest lap. That said I believe that tyre strategy is going to play a pivotal role at Madrid. I believe that the front tyres are going to create the biggest headache for a lot of the teams ...

I'm hoping to get the new DLC as soon as I get paid ... Pity my boss is not reading this thread so he could get the hint ... :D

 Nizmo! I hope your boss pays you a little extra. Once he finds out that you're in one of the closest, and hardest racing series in the world  certainly he'll understand!

But, if you have any time today, or even right now, you could compare your racing line with mine. Certainly, I don't mean to say that my line's the best, but I do pride myself on my city course driving, and I think you might be able to learn a bit from it.

My circuit preview lap. It's a 1:29.484. I think it's the second best lap posted here so far. I think you could see a bit of my Turn 1 line, and my line through the twisty "Carousel-Chariot" section.

Lol ... I did skim through it yesterday but I will study it in great detail ... see if I can pick up where I'm going wrong ... But I will admit that I dropped 1.5 seconds of my first couple of lap times just by changing the racing line ... We've still got 3.5 days until the race on Sat so putting in some hardcore laps is in order ...

That's the idea. Dropping 1.5 seconds in a familiar car is a great sign that you're learning new techniques.

I would love to race (whether I fund my own team, or am paid) and I want to be one of the better drivers on track. While money's scarce now, once I'm done college, and get a job as a mechanic, my racing series continues, and will be kicked into overdrive. So, I'll do EVERYTHING I can to learn to be that tenth faster.

And, certainly, I challenge everyone, (whether they aspire to racing or not) to join me in that "tenth seeking challenge." I want everyone to look back on the series, and see some rounds that they really nailed, and see some podiums and some wins. So, I'm looking forward to updating the points table every week, and ensuring that everyone who gets a pole, podium, or a win, gets the credit they so rightfully deserve.

I've always wanted to become a race car driver. I remember when I was younger and my dad would take me to the race track. I always loved the look and sound of the Super Touring Cars of the 90's. The spectacle of seeing three or four drivers fighting for the lead and creating some intense racing action, in everyday recognizable cars. That was racing ...
Unfortunately this country does not have a program for wannabe racing drivers and funding, imo, plays the biggest role in any aspiring race car drivers career.

If I'm not able to take it to the track in real life, then I might as well battle it out in the closest and hardest racing series in the virtual world ... lol

We won't talk about my street escapades ...

Well, I'm actually a reserved driver on the streets. I'm 18, yes, but I'm mature for an 18 year old. I don't want to pay 18 year old insurance rates when I'm 40. I'd rather be a professional racing driver on the racing tracks. :)

But, South Africa's sorta like Canada. There aren't enough tracks in either country, really.

But, thankfully, my parents have no plans of kicking me out of a house that " will one day own." as they say, so I'm thinking I might be able to afford to work my way up the Mazda ladder system, and get into a Rolex GT spot in real life. (Notice the signature? I got second place last season in the virtual Rolex series. :P Now, onto the real one! Husha!)

Hopes aside, though, I did have a successful karting career. I was invited to join the team that Robbie Wickens was on, but I didn't have the money. :yuck:

But, Turn 1, Chariot and the final hairpin should be the parts of the track you focus on this week. I have no doubt that those are the three most important parts of the track.

sorry about the spam, im still learning the site and the internet, lmao, i almost raced cars on a national level here in australian formula ford and formula 3, but when your competeing for race seats agianst people with serios money, and highly talented i got over looked, in saying that tho, im satisfied that the people i was overlooked for werent just cash barons, just look at will power and ryan briscoe, karl reindler went on to v8 supercars, i just wish that back then i had the money to compete with them in races, not just open testing days, unfortunately, money is one of the many keys to success in this world,

Ja well I tend to be a bit of a "vindgat" (means fast with attitude in Afrikaans) on the street.
I'm running a stock Nissan Sentra* 160 Si (stock except free-flow exhaust, branches and cone filter) in life and I must admit she's pretty quick. Keeping up with the 2.0 16v in the streets. So I'm always looking for some action robot-to-robot ... lol

I just need the to find the time to practice this track ... lol
Every other week was about setting the car up but this week is more about track knowledge.

*This would possibly be a Sunny/Pulsar N14 in other countries.

Money breeds money? Everything is that way, it seems.

And, I know all of those names mentioned. Reindler's got himself a good name in Australian V8 Supercars, but, he's not Whincup.

As far as the learning thing, I understand. When I started my league days on Forza, I was completely lost about the etiquette. It just takes time.

My general rules (from the GTP Acceptable Usage Policy) are:

-capitalize
-no swearing/racism
-limit your double posts

If you do those three things, and keep good grammar, no one could really complain.

Well I hope the video is not copyrighted MrM :scared: ... I just downloaded so I can study the line and learn from my mistakes ...
Feels like I'm back at school and gotta do homework to improve ... It's true hey ... You never stop learning ... :)

Oh, sorry, that song was made by some friends of mine. My friend CoMa is the singer. She currently lives in the U.K.

I'm a DJ, so I have some connections (heheh, barely) to the musicians. I know that CoMa and them won't care, because the song's free, and it is, technically, advertising. I gave them credit, and posted a link to the free download. That free download *is* their meal ticket, surprisingly, because people who like the free song, may be tempted to purchase the songs that cost money.

As for the homework, I wish my homework were that much fun!

Finally, DLC update: downloaded.

And how is Motegi?
We didn't get GT Academy here so I only have feint memories of it from the previous installments.
Motegi was always an enjoyable track for me ... But that back straight coming into the right hander and into the chicane was always an epic one for me ...

Well, I can't drive the stuff I downloaded until morning here. On GTA 2012, thst Nissan 370Z had a poor tuning setup and ruined the track. BUT, the track was still a fun breath of fresh air.

motegi was fun in gt4, i was surprised when that and infineon werent already on gt5, i was a disappointed, but, apparently polyphony have been seen doing there thing at bathurst so hopefully thats next on the cards for DLC, and maybe more australian cars too, "if the rumours are true"

That or they could be keeping it under wraps for GT6 ...

UUUUffff, we need Aussie V8s. We need "Wincup" jokes. Oh, did I spell Whincup wrong?

Lol ... I don't think Australia is demographically represented enough in GT5 ... We need more cars from other countries that the rest of the world doesn't see ...
It would be awesome if PD had to make the old Basil Green Ford Capri "Perana V8" or the old Chev Firenza CanAm V8 ... Truly classic South African cars from back in the day ... lol

well not really lol, how i spell it you would deem as inappropriate lmao,
im really not a fan of team vodafone, or Holden racing team, or jack daniels.... basically any holden team, apart from Russel ingall and his supercheap auto team, and team BOC,

im a DJR fan, or stone bros racing, or FPR, but im more a gis bergen fan, me and the folks went to bathurst last year and camped on top of the hill, watching the gizz in final practice in the heaviest rain we had all weekend was like watching a yoga class full of the hottest models, he was sideways for about a kilometer or more, and was fastest thru that entire sector by 4 secs, it was amazing,

and some V8 supercars would be awesome, and the FPV cars that were in gt4, (in which i own in real life would be a good start considering the got the commy and monaro in here...

dont forget the fairmont GT, which is actual australian, lol

Lol ... we did get a few Aussie cars wrapped up in Chev, Dodge, Ford or Plymouth back in the day ...
The only thing that 🤬 me off in this country is that back when this country was sanctioned, we did not get a lot of the "Beasts from the East" like many of our neighboring countries ... I work in a Radiator and Exhaust shop and the amount of import cars I see coming to the shop everyday from Zim or Swaziland, etc, is very heart sore. I can easily go through to Swaziland and pick up a Evo IV or any of the Skyline models for cheap, but we are not allowed to register it in South Africa ...
I guess the government is making too much money off the motor industry in South Africa that any vehicle not from this country is amking their back pockets hurt ... lol

We not even allowed to import the American classics anymore because the LHD scenario is deemed unsafe ...

our law on LHD is that it doesnt have to be converted to RHD if the vhicle is 30 yrs old, because its deemed as a classic,

anyway we have gone off topic lol

Lol we have ... but at least we keeping this thread going while everyone else is sleeping ...
