Thanks for posting the poll up. I do understand that it might be troublesome to add it and so I really appreciate it.

Awesome idea! , But.....
Why not limit classes by performance points or by engine's HP? it would make more sense then to have unlimited HP and limit only by CR. Would also make for a more even competition, i assume not all the JDM performance cars in the game are gona max out to 800+bhp like the Skyline GTR's.

Also why make an inclusion for a Veyron or other non Wangan/JDM themed cars? It breaks the whole Wangan concept, whats the point then.

Woah who told you only japanese cars race there? Back this summer, i was at one of the PAs, and i saw a ton of different cars, from porsches to BMW to ferraris, couple vipers and corvettes,And much much more. Many people race different things.

Did you see many Veyrons? :sly: majority would of been JDM performance cars.

But seriously what do you think about the PP or HP limitations? Would make for more closer and competitive racing,no?
Races would mostly come down to the car rather then the driver as the tracks wont be as technical.

Great idea, I'm in!

I quote myself because, as it was my first message, moderators had to approve it and it appeared before yours, Torque; and it seems you didn't see it. Would you mind adding me? Thank you ^^

And about the Touge, I'd say yes, because I love it. But this is a Wangan club, so... I'm not really sure :/

just a suggestion.. we should increase the challenge a bit and have other users drive regular cars (let's call them group B) to simulate pedestrian cars on the wangan while a few racers (we'll call them group A) race around the wangan, and after a few runs we'll switch to group B, while group A switch to pedestrian cars. The cycle will happen on a rotation.

While staying on the realistic side of things, the pedestrian cars should try and slow down the wangan racers, merging into lanes, driving beside another pedestrian and allowing only one lane for passing, while not doing something as excessive as stopping dead in the middle of the road or driving backward straight into the racers. And yes, follow the speed limit or drive some slow ass car if you can't do that well.

So for the numbers of racer/pedestrian, since we can race up to 16 peoples at a time online, up to 4 go racing at a time and the rest 12 racers spread themselves out around the wangan and offer some challenge to mix up the race as to not to have one dominate racer out run everyone flatout.

Group A/ Race
Group B - D / Pedestrian

Yes sir I like it we should also let the pedestrian cars spread out around the track so they are not in one section. 👍

I have an idea :) It's merging this and something I saw in a thread a while ago, inspired by the Late Risers video posted in here.
So, just to mix things up a bit every now and then, we have a Police car (Skyline safety car?) introduced onto the track to try and chase down the Wangan races. I was thinking that it'd have to be limited in performance so that it'd make it more tricky, like real life. Therefore, the 'cop' would have to use skill to outmanouver the racers.
Just a thought, incase just the regular cruising and racing gets boring. I can't really see that happening! Haha!

How about have teams of 3 where we just do straight out runs. The first teammate to cross the finish line in one lap, their team will win. Something to keep our club runs fresh. Sorry if someone came up with this idea first, I haven't checked all the posts in the thread yet.

Union, I had thought of this but the way you explained it was great, and JDMKING, I agree also with the whole 'spreading out thing'. It would really add an element of surprise and step things up a few levels. I would also have thought that 16 racers was a bit much.
A few cars which could be 'pedestrian cars'? They wouldn't have to be Premium, although someone would have to buy/drive them so maybe so, but I think:
EG Civic
JZA08 (?) Supra
R32 Skyline
R34 Skyline
EK Civic
FD2 Civic
Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC300
AE86 Trueno
FD/FC RX-7
Maybe an MX5 or an MR2/MR-S, or maybe a Celica.
Just some thoughts, any others?

I would of said you'd want them like regular cars that you see on the wangan not racing. Like nissan cubes for example? Going at regular speed, makes it more true to life? :)

I don't suppose you've played Street Supermacy, but the Supra and some Imprezas were used as traffic cars, as well as some others.

Yea no doubt! I think we can have other tuner cars while we run on the Wangon, however we just have to make sure they are not super fast, or they stay with the format. Its so many things we can do with GT5 I'm so happy to play with you guys online.

Yup, the cars shouldn't be RM'd or too Aero modded.
The 24th will be a great day, will be a pleasure to race with you all :D
Touge for me!
There is a course maker theme called 'Mt. Aso', which is in Japan. It looks like a Touge kind of place, so expect extreme Touge battles ahead!

We can have the traffic even with our heavily modified cars as long as those people stay at a normal speed which is easy to do. Originally the plan was to have 2 people race while the others wait on the side of the road so that is very cool plan to make those drivers active while waiting for their time to run.
If we made people use stock cars then they will likely have to get out into the lobby then switch cars then come back into the game which would likely become annoying.
I also like the team idea because it reminds me of Tokyo Extreme Racer.

Underlined:
You're right, and they would have to keep a steady pace. But we don't yet know whether you have the switch out of the Lobby to change cars, so either way it would still work out.

That is true, If you can change cars in the lobby then thats great if not it would be a hassle. Therefore we can only wait and see.
Also, for new people who want to be part of this don't forget to join the group and post your PSN ID there as well. The link to the group is in the opening post. We have more threads in there to keep it more organized. For those that are adding ideas please post them in here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=294 .

Excellent.

I'm still a noob though. :( Spectator mode will be helpful.

Howdy, would the road-going versions of LM cars (GT-R and NSX-R, off the top of my head) be permitted?

Um, I would think so, since they aren't strict race cars.

That would be excellent news. My hunt for Akio Asakura and Tatsuya Shima in an NSX-R LM Edition Road Car '02 begins in five more excruciating days.

👍
