I am very excited about this, before this thread i had never even heard of Wangan but now i wonder where i've been all my life :P

Ditto. I wasn't very familiar with it, but in my urge to play GT5, and discovering this thread, I started watching Wangan midnight episodes, haha. I also fear my noob status. I never had any friends who played GT, and I didn't get GT5P. I used to think I was good, but reading things on this forum... I realize that I am not anything too special. But I think this would be a lot of fun. The added factor of traffic could perhaps make the playing field a bit more level, since you can't really practice for that.

I had one question though, do all you guys plan to use headsets? I have one somewhere that I will definitely need to find in time for GT5, but I was thinking that all being able to communicate quickly and easily would streamline things immensely.

I plan to use my Logitech headset for sure, it will definitely make organizing things go quicker and it has been confirmed so thats good news. If anyone doesn't have a headset it is still okay because at least they will be able to hear everyone else talk and know whats going on.
 
Dude I like your idea except the unlimited part. See you need to make it so that FF cars can compete with AWD car. Because if its unlimited AWD is going to dominate

Since it's all from rolling starts at about 80mph(keeping it true to real life) none of that matters, Except for some really fast cars that burn out past 80mph.


Also, im really digging that mount ASO course theme.

You can use your headset to play? We usually use Skype or Ventrilo.

this sounds like fun, i loved SSR 5 in gt4, epic track, i'm also looking forward to the touges (and racing on Eiger Nordwand is fairly good practice, and so much fun, especially when you start drifting around it during the race with R3 tires, anyone else do that?) anyways, i assume that the 1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Concept can be used right? (well, either that or the Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG ‘00 (race version, that thing was the one of the more epic cars to drive in gt4), or the AE86, take a wild guess why, lol

Is there already a GTP vent channel? I wonder how much they cost and if there is any way we could convince Jordan that it would be a wise investment for GTP...
Or we could just use skype, though I have never used Skype much myself. This might be a reason to start. It might be nice to use one of these systems over PS3 direct communication because not everyone has a bluetooth headset, but most people have a computer with which to use skype or ventrilo. I am getting more and more excited about this game!

So many awesome JDM cars to choose from, which is going to be nice. Most likely be running alot of diffrent goodies. Plenty to choose from.

If someone show up in a race spec Peugeot, I might just have to ram you in to the guard rails :D
 
Im in boss:tup:, i'll be driving the Mazda RX-7 GT-X (FC), Nissan 180SX Type X, Toyota Supra 3.0GT Turbo and many other old school Japanese cars :)

Movie? You mean series? Wangan Midnight is, as far as I assosiate it, a 26 episode Anime about,well, the Wangan.

Probly a good idea to look up Initial D as well, as possible going in to Touge as well. Both great animes in my opinion. Some of my alltime favorite infact. :dopey:

No no, there's a film too :) It's where the photo of the 240ZX, 911 Porsche and F335 on the Wangan was taken from ! I've not seen it, although I've heard it's quite good. Not totally true to the original, but passable :)

Ohh.. I heard there was going to be a movie,but I never knew quite when it was supposed to be launched,so to speak. Defenatly going to be looking it up.

Gotta look around to check if its available, youtube and movie watching usualy is a bit sketchy on the quality side :yuck:
 
Sounds cool I'll be in as long as i can get more than 300hp out of the 240zg(didn't let me turbocharge her in gt4). PSN name same as my forum name S30Z_Guy. My Z will either be black or silver like my 280z.

Hmm.. Should probly be able to throw a turbo on there, hopefully every car is able to put either a turbo or a supercharger on. You can do so to every car in real life, if you so wish, so why not.

Doubt im ever gonna run on anything higher than N1 or S1 tires though, bit higher for touge. Fun to gear down and hit the throttle at 120mph and spin away. :D
