Yet you read the AUP when you signed up, and ticked a box to say you'd read it and agreed to it. You were free not to, but you did.

If you didn't agree to it, why did you tick the box that said you did? Why does it come as a surprise to you now, after you've read and agreed to it?

It's like you want this thread shutting down permanently or something. What have all the people who use this thread and abide by the AUP done to you to make you hate them so much you want their thread locked?

I agree, this should probably be moved. I am contemplating setting up a chat room where we can go and talk well in races without cluttering up this thread. We need to get things back on topic.

In the social group, I posted a set of rules I think should be followed. Please post back with your ideas.
 
Hey guys sorry i wasn't able to make it last night every time i tried to join the room i kept dropping out! i must have tried at least 30 times. Do when know what class we are going to run tonight yet so i can get one set up?
 
if we're going to go with the "400 class = 400-499hp" type rule, the class 6 should be 700-799 just to keep things consistent. what's the deal for tonight?

Free Runs:

-These shall be any wangan run that take place not during a competition.

Production cars ONLY (If unsure, please post here and ask, we can review the car and make an accurate judgement.)
Sports: Soft tires ONLY (This mean NO racing tires.)

That's about it for free run. The main point is to good, test and tune, and have fun.


Competition Rules:

These are rules to be followed by any competition that is held. Competitions should be held by organized members that regularly participate.

Production cars ONLY (If unsure, please post here and ask, we can review the car and make an accurate judgement.)
Sports: Soft tires only (This mean NO racing tires.)

Format:

Shall be setup using a random generator to decide who runs who to start. Two at a time. Racers will start at tunnel entrance and the race ends when you exit the tunnel. There will be a winner and loser bracket to determine ranks. Once you enter the competition, your car cannot be altered.

Competition will be comprised of a dig bracket, and a roll bracket. This is the ultimate test of who can tune their car the best, period. Roll speeds will be determined by class and participants. Expect higher roll speeds with faster cars.

Winner must leave his car the way it is, and bring it back to the next event to defend his top spot. In the event the winner does not show up, he will lose the top dog status.


Street Starters:

A class aimed at those just starting out, but open for all to run.

300 whp MAX
Only Stage 1 weight reduction and carbon fiber hood allowed (honor system folks)



Street Tuners:

A class aimed at those who don't wish to spend all of their money on a street car, but would like to go faster.

500 hp MAX
Stage 2 weight reduction and carbon fiber hood only (Honor system folks)



Street Kings:

A class to run most of your dream street machines.

700 HP Max
All weight reduction allowed



Track Prep Cars:

A class for those to run with deep pockets and loud mouths. Bring the noise.

800-1000 hp MAX (up for discussion)
All other mods allowed.

This is a prime example why Famine had to come in here to start moderation within our thread. Please don't post in our thread if you want to troll moderators. Talk to Famine through private message or if you choose and you don't like it. Just don't post at all, it's pretty simple.

Back on topic, Torque would you like us to start using the social group instead of posting in this thread? We could just use this thread to post event pictures and such.

I feel as if we should start using the group more, but I truly feel like it's going to be hard for new members to find.
 
I agree with you as well, but if new members can't take the time to read the thread link and it clearly states ***Please Read First Post***. Then I believe that is just being pure lazy. Currently as of last night we have over 100 members in our social group. I know that I don't use it as much as I should considering that we been posting like crazy in our thread. But now that we have new members coming into the thread and posting things against the AUP.

Maybe it's time to really focus on our core group of members to move forward with our club events and such. I am not trying to make new members feel bad or anything, but most of us are adults and as a group we shouldn't be trying to pick fights with moderators.
 
I personally only sent friend request to people who have been posting in the group section because I rather play with the serious people who are in the group to keep on running the Wangan rather than adding people who are essentially just passing by.
I guess I have to change my car to match the weight reduction rules. I can agree with those rules stated by Torque.

Don't go by his rules yet, since most aren't really going towards his. They're wacky rules when you actually run in the game. My rules are more towards real life. And honestly, thats what this is about, real life.

too bad my IRL car is ruined by the game, by people who've never seen a Volvo 240 before.
it weighs nearly 500kg more than IRL
and you can barely tune it, unlike the 1000hp ones that exist IRL...
Doing real life things in this game is silly, as it's so very very far from real.

i like diversity, i'm just saying things that would be amazing IRL, won't be as spectacular in the game.

IRL, a 1290kg car with 300hp, would be a beast, here it's a car that can barely win races against Toyota Yarises.

I'm really not trying to be a dick, but I'm not going to let someone call the shots who's not actively involved yet.

That's how big corporations run, the most unhappy people are the bottom. I'm listening to everybody and implementing what people want, but trying to keep it realistic. Who wants to build 7+ cars? Not me.

Looks like we will need group admins to set rules and lead the group in the severs. Looks like some people are ready taking charge but making it official would be better so new people know who to direct their questions to.

And this is what I meant by setting up a committee. Until Torque actually gets started in GT5, things will only be organized by those who are willing to step up. So far only 3 of us have been for the few days.
