Just got this, as I speak I'm doing updates and other downloads. I enjoyed IL-2 on PS3, and finally have a laptop with decent specs to run games/sims... I hope that I will be able to though, as it looks like a graphics intensive game, less of the memory though.

I remember FrankieonPC making a video of this and thought that I'd like to get it, but never had a good enough build at the time to.

Flying will mostly be my thing but I don't think I'll be able to do much online as I only have Internet connection at school for now. Pretty big into Mircrosoft FS even though I only use FS9 (fsx is just too much for this poor thing...).

If you have poor internet. Youll be useless in the air/ground  lag spikes, lag in general isnt friendly on WT

Started playing an hour ago. I was averaging around 20-25 fps with the standard settings it gave me, which is good enough. It dipped at 18 when I switched from tank to plane and then that was awkward learning how to fly with a mouse. I'm used to a joystick so I almost got shot down but nailed a guy in less than ten seconds..

rammed a tank the first five seconds though when I entered my first match. Too bad I have a paper to write and turn in, in less than three hours covering all major religions...

Well glad to see you got it working pretty well.

Isn't there a naval campaign/theatre?
Not yet. Supposedly someone on the actual WT forums said that they have a separate team for the naval campaign. If it's true we should have it by the end of the year.

I'm at 60 mb/s and I sometimes get hurled towards the ground by the War gods.

"What-what? You want to chase down a Spitfire in Yak-1...? Down with you!!!!!!"

It depends on the servers you run on.

When somebody asks a silly question about tanks:

Just because I am so badass, I don't read the manual. Although I am not sure if "badass" is the correct word. More like "idiot"...

Meanwhile, I'll leave this here:

Is there a way around gold eagles? I need about 250 for each plane from the starter pack and I need 100 gold eagles to repair my Yak-1.

Wait... Repair? No, repairs are always for silver, or they're done for free if you just wait for certain time. If you're looking into the 'modifications' menu (or not sure how it's called in the English version), they are upgrades. They can be researched and bought for Silver Lions. Or spend the Gold to skip (it'll be a waste on the early tiers).
Eagles are the premium currency and mostly obtained for real money.

lol I'm sure you'll love it... Later on it's a big grind though. But overall the spitfire is a wonderful plane :D

As long I have one Spitfire, I'm good. The painful grinds can come later. Also, out of curiosity, which one of the Japanese planes is the Zero? Model-wise.

Having weaker guns is kinda bad, but the Spitfire has 8 of those (IIRC). That's the reason why I like my Hurrricane so much, concentrated fire can wreck ground targets. :D

This one isn't so good. The Mk.IIb with two 20mm Hispano guns is much better. ;)

No need to tell me, why would you call it a Mark 2 if there was no improvement, eh? ;)

But yes, 20mm cannons would do wonders on a more agile plane. The LaGG showed me how much damage they can do...

Also, when I get back home, I have a very cool history to tell you, about an amazing air árcade battle I had with the Hurricane...

A6M Reisen series. They are also known as Zero.

Mk.IIa doesn't have cannons, Mk.IIb does, remember.
The Hispanos are even more kick-ass than the Soviet ShVAKs.

Do you have a replay of that battle? Replays are saved automatically and the last 10 are kept in the Replays folder.
