If signing out doesn't help cant you just unplug the net wire or turn off the wifi?
You could do that, but it shouldn't be necessary. It shouldn't give that many warnings. Just to get to the GTLife screen you get 4 warnings, and every time you go back to that screen you get another one.

I think it proves how much GT5 requires to be connecting to the servers when online. It's strange that even when you're not doing seasonals or playing online, every single move you do is sent to the server. I've learned to live with it, but it doesn't make me feel comfortable when playing my own game.

I never knew this!!!

Really? You might be one of the lucky ones. I noticed it on day one, when the servers were being hammered. It took forever to navigate the menus, so I just disabled the connection until it improved. It does seem to be affecting people at random though; I haven't had any issues for over a year (unless the "hammering" is coming from my end), and for some it was fine on day one, but got worse around the time mine improved; still others seem to suddenly be getting their turn at waiting on PD (ha, maybe that's it; they expected we'd miss that once the game was out...)

It is an odd behaviour to have engineered into the game in the first place, though. I wonder what it is that PD "need" from the game at such regular intervals; anti-piracy measure? Is it just checking that there is a connection, in case you try to do any online stuff, so it can tell you without having to check when you click on the lobby (although it already has checked, twelve times in the last minute). Madness.

It's as annoying as the "Do you want to connect to PSN?" screen when not already logon. Are you sure you don't want to? Are you really reall sure?

PD should program GT5 so that these annoying little messages are presented once; growl fashion. That way we can leave them on-screen to remind us or close them all together to get on with offline racing.

I'm confused about all of this, is such a problem to spend the half a second it takes to press X to dismiss such a notification from bothering you? It's not like you have to read it every time.

they just trying to avoid you from making mistakes

But sometimes they have to know when to let go; we need to learn to make our own mistakes, so that we can also learn to recover from them, and so become better people for it.
Or summink like that...

It's funny, though, they have that incessant reminder to log in, but at launch you could quit a race with a single button press (well, after pausing anyway.) Priorities, eh?

The log in gotta be the most annoying one though I mean what if I don't wanna use GT5 Online
