Anyone else having game freeze issues with the Formula B at Mount Panorama? Froze PS3 twice on 2nd lap coming up the long straight after the first turn.

Same thing happened here, just once for me though. I turned off the ghost car and it appears to have solved it.

Good tip, i never even got 1lap in earlier, on the Intel challenge there is cheating going on ie wall riding,

wall riding isn't racing and all wall riding times should be deleted, makes a shame of the event.

How do you know for sure wall riding is going on, did you try and see if it is faster?

I wonder if patch makes a difference regarding upgrades but I'm only on level 0 with car and don't know how long it will take to level up the car so I can upgrade. Have you noticed much difference regarding tuning compared to stock setup at all that might make a big difference in lap time as track has long straights?

Also you know for first lap, do you overtake all ai cars on approach to second corner to do a good time?

Shame that for events with prizes, they decided to not go with at least the time attack mode if time trial was original intention but in the end chose the worst mode possible.

The top 2 have told me they have done it, so I guess more have too, wall riding is not for me.
My fastest time is without upgrades, so I still don't think they work.
Tuning helps low df stiff springs thats it, and yes it should have been a TT 100%
I'm passing the last car between turn 2 and 3 if I'm lucky, I have a bit more to improve yet, but I'm 100% clean.

Interesting to see that wall riding works without slowing people down, I will like you avoid doing that as it won't feel right to do.

Thanks for the information, will try today the event and hopefully can find over 10 seconds from somewhere, my current time is my only platinum run and was over 10 seconds faster than my previous best attempt so hopefully I can improve at that rate.

My best start also is overtaking between turn 2 and 3, only did it once early on when event started but didn't replicate it after. This is the part I'm least looking forward to as I can imagine first and second corner involving many :banghead: moments. I might also have an outside chance of winning a prize as I noticed there are not many countries eligible.

REPLAY has done a clean 47, he is just on another level.
Yep he seems to have that little bit extra but seems more beatable on the shorter events. Shame in a way the people who were top two on PS3 get nothing. PC people did really fast times, I wonder if 58SuperSic is tony1311. Well done on winning week 2 for eligible countries, get yourself a good tablet computer.

I ended up spending less time on the last event than week before but this time had a tuned up car and knew the track from other games. Only managed to do 3 complete runs at it all which were conservative runs, after that struggled to get a decent start and first lap so that was it. Probably cost myself a few places overall on top of costly week before but never mind, I will be happy if I get anything.

I really dislike it when there are races in Racenet challenges, this week's Street event has ridiculous targets. :grumpy:

Yeah, Pete has said the same. He's winning the race every time, but not even getting the bronze.

This has happened a few times in Grid 2 as well. Codies just sets the target times automatically and never does testing. If you look at the leaderboard only 1 guy has managed to get silver so far. Quite ridiculous really.

aah, just do your best

do we have to get gold and platinum every week?

If you want bonus cash and XP after completing an event, then getting either of those medals help.

You can also aim for is the highest possible position on the leaderboard for a bigger sum of the large payout you get at the end of the week's challenges, depending on which percentage you fall into. No XP rewards here though.

Since upgrades don't work, I've been messing around with tuning a lot lately to gain those extra few tenths. I've found a setting that almost completely eliminates the "floatiness" characteristic of CM games. The cars feel very intuitive to drive now, just like I imagined a Grid 1 sequel should be :D

Differential - max open (max locked for drifting)
Downforce - min low
Ride height - min low
Front spring - max stiff
Rear spring - max stiff

Also, it seems that the brake balance is reversed. I drive with ABS off and normally I never touch it, but I messed around with it and putting the bias max front will make your car rotate VERY easily. When putting it max rear the front will instantly pull straight when the wheels lock.

I think the Tuner event has been a bit easy this time round. Platinum on my first attempt, then took 7 seconds off that time on my second go. Now, this is me we're talking about. I'm not THAT good!:lol::lol:

The time for the medals are all over the place anyways. Some weeks it's super easy to platinum, in others even the top drivers can barely scrape silver.

The JDM class for this week is pretty good since the cars don't slide as much. Last I checked I'm in top 3% :D

I lol'd when I saw that. How hard is it to just set these challenges manually? Even Grid 2 wasn't this bad in terms of repetition...

Got prize from Codemasters delivered today, I asked for the lower prize of the Goodie Bag instead of the Razer Baseball cap and luckily managed to get it. Got a bag, a cap, a T-shirt and some stickers so I think that worked out well for me. I wasn't expecting anything as I thought maybe the prizes where for top 10 with all platforms combined apart from top 3 prizes so quite happy I received something. Codemasters 👍.

@STEVE182rs i was chasing your ghostly blue beemer yesterday on brands, that's why i started the AI thread on the codies forum, boneheads just kept getting in the way :D

You sure are fast, i am close to the limit and still 2 seconds off your time. Is your beemer upgraded?

Any chance you could share you tune for the NISSAN 2008 (R35) GT-R NISMO GT500
Thanks....

His tune pattern is good for all cars actually (even drifting). It eliminates the Ego engine's floatiness and general tendency to understeer on entry. Just adjust the gearing depending on the track and you're good to go 👍

Brake bias: max front (this actually makes the car oversteer, weird eh?)
Differential: max locked (helps put power down on exits)
Downforce: min low (helps top speed immensely without sacrificing too much grip)
Gearing: adjust to track
Suspension front: max stiff (eliminates floatiness)
Suspension rear: max stiff (eliminates lift off oversteer)

OK. Thanks...

Hi, yeh my tune for the GT500 RC is -100,-100,+100,-50,+70+100

Hope this helps, good luck.

Nice one. I will give it a go....

Yes it has froze on me on the straight after the first turn
The post from BK711 was from August last year. It was the exact same car and track combo that had freezing issues. Seems to be a bug coz its freezing in this weeks event as well.

It froze on me as well going up the straight on second lap. Good to know it's not just me or my PS3 showing signs of YLOD again :scared: Had to hard reset my PS3 and retried the event again but everything went smoothly this time.
