:odd: Uh, off the top of my head most supermarkets sell at least granny smith, golden delicious, fuji, and gala (in addition to red delicious and mcintosh). I don’t care much for apples, but when I do buy them I usually only buy fuji.

No, these are horrible apples, Mrs. Smith. Go away, Mrs. Smith! Go away until your daughter has a baby.

Fujis and Galas are best cold. Granny Smiths and Golden Delicious are best for outdoors or at room temp. Mcintosh is best with caramel dip. Red Delicious and Romes are best for apple sauce or cooking. I've never had a red delish that didn't oxidize within a couple seconds after cutting it. Once I get my ceramic knives I might go buy one just to see if it's my 25 year old steel that's the problem.

Love apples... Cortland Michigan Apples especially btw.. right now... having some Seagram's Extra Dry Lime Twisted Gin and some Sprite. :) --- Randy

They make apples in Michigan? How come I never knew this?

I second Washington apples. I think we're spoiled here because that's about all we get in the grocery stores.

As for food, I think I'm about to pour myself a nice glass of orange juice.

Not eating anything at present, but I know what I'm about to go buy - a bag of hot chips (with salt, of course) and a 440ml can of Lift Plus... mind you, that still comes to $5 :|

My uncle's girlfriend brought me coffee straight from Colombia. This stuff is great. I feel like I'm going to grow a huge mustache in 30 minutes and a donkey will smash through my window.

Prune juice. Don't ask about the idea of a dried fruit having juice, it's full of fiber, and I've been backed up for days now.

Found a 3.5lbs point-cut piece of corned beef in the freezer but I had no cabbage. I made corned beef hash with potatoes and carrots, grilled it in a stainless steel pan in a mustard sauce.

AWESOME!

The 'point-cut' is the cheaper of the cuts of corned beef, and is perfect for mixing up as hash. I usually like green bell peppers and onions, but I had no green bell pepper.

You do with what you got. :)

You need to go shopping. NOW!

My wife picked up a Papa Murphy's Chicago-style Stuffed Pizza and now I am a ND-style Stuffed TB.

We went shopping yesterday!

I never knew the corned beef was in the freezer until Sunday when I had to make room for the food I just bought.

Didn't buy a cabbage 'cause I didn't think I'd need it. Didn't buy green bell peppers 'cause I already made meatloaf and sloppy joes with them during the week and got burnt out on them.

Plus, we ordered a King Arthur Supreme on Friday, 'cause the woman didn't know we did that the week before (hee-hee). :)

Had 20 tacos and 6 glasses of water at Taco Tuesday at Azteca. They started giving me mildewy lettuce by plate 6. I got the message.

20 tacos? Please, tell me that you didn't eat them all.

24, and left the last four because of mildew lettuce. I dunno if it was the lettice specifically but they didn't smell right and tasted even worse. The 20 I ate were the best $5 tacos I've ever had.

^ I've done that before, too. My brother-in-law and I went to a joint in Georgia with all you can eat taco's and we tore that place up. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do that anymore. But that's not a bad thing. Nowadays I go for a 6 pack and a pound and split it with the fam.

I had tacos, too. Not 24, but enough to keep me from eating the rest of the night. It didn't matter how many I had. It was Taco Bell and now I'm sick to my stomach. :yuck:

Sunday night went to Jeong Won Korean BBQ – all-you-can-eat for 20 bucks! I ate quite a few plates’ worth of meat over the 3 hours that we were there (I felt bad because by the third hour I was the only one still eating…). Yummy kalbi and bulgogi (a little too much fat in the kalbi, but what do you expect for that price?).

(Actual picture from the night – I’m the one in blue looking drunk because I wasn’t expecting the camera or its amazing flash.)

Monday night went to Studio Diner, again, and got their fish and chips, again. Not quite as good as the last time I was there, but still good. I was still hungry afterwards and so I finished off someone else’s pancakes and someone else’s fries and cole slaw. I’ve been really hungry lately for some reason.

"Bad fish! Not like going down to the pond and chasing bluegills and tommycocks. This shark, swallow you whole. No shakin', no tenderizin', down you go."

Sage, you say kalbi and bulgogis like we know what you're talking about.

Haha, sorry :p – that’s what happens when you go to a school where Asians make up nearly 50% of the student body (and upwards of 95% within my major – ergo the people I mostly hang out with)… you end up taking a lot of the food vocabulary for granted. Kalbi is basically marinated short ribs, and bulgogi is basically marinated sirloin.
