Err - that tradition goes back to the 1600's - so that would be us (Australia is second Sunday in May as well) being different.

...and it's not an underscore, it's a limbo stick. Heh.
 
Tradition, shmadition (nice, huh?) - if more than one country does it compared to Britain, who can't get anybody else to go along with their crap tradition, then then majority is right. The majority is always right.
