I'm not sure I can bring myself to check out The Hunter and No Exit. They don't have good reputations.

Started playing Burnout: Revenge again and Junkie XL's " Today" is probably the track which stays in my head the most frequently following a play session.

[EDIT] Checking out the album (also named Today) and it's also very good so far.

Jane's Addiction - Jane Says

Man I don't know whose idea it was to include the steel drums but it was inspired. I've always loved them in the song.

New albums by Courtney Barnett and Robyn Carlsson, plus a previously released album from each of them.

The Charlatans - Tellin' Stories

I love going down rabbit holes. I recently acquired and was listening to The Charlatans' Tellin' Stories, and as I'm reading the liner notes I see the name Martin Duffy with a keyboards credit (shared with Rob Collins who I've since learned died in a car crash before recording had finished). It sounded so familiar and I initially thought he might be the brother of Stephen Duffy with whom he founded The Lilac Time, but I was mistaken--that's Nick Duffy. I then "learn" (I guess I realized it but I didn't on my own) that I know him from Primal Scream.

Primal Scream - Movin' On Up

But then I also learn (which is to say I didn't know at any point prior) that he was with Felt. That's a band that I love but lean toward early stuff, in particular their debut Crumbling the Antiseptic Beauty (love that title), and he'd joined them later.

Felt - Primitive Painters

Salin Cheewapansri - Painted Lady (KEXP, February 10, 2025). She's a Thai drummer.

Double-dipping on the ol' KEXP channel for this 2017 broadcast by Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile & all-star backing band (including Warpaint's amazing drummer Stella Mozgawa) The Sea Lice. As some wag said in the comments: "It's about time Seattle got a new Kurt & Courtney".
