I'm listening to my Jethro Tull playlist on Spotify, and giving my Sony headphones a test out...



Hearing this stuff with the best quality headphones (and streaming Lossless on Spotify) is amazing.

It also reemphasises how phenomenal Jethro Tull were/are - they are head and shoulders above most rock bands and the depth and brilliance of their output is astonishing - and I only really listen to their stuff up to about 1977...

For newcomers to Tull's music, I can recommend jumping straight in at 'Minstrel in the Gallery' (title track and the song 'Baker Street Muse'), but the first track I ever heard was 'Thick As a Brick Pt. 2' - a heavy place to start, but it became one of the first CDs I ever bought when I was 14 or 15.

It's about time I started listening to Dylan's acoustic pre-Judas stuff. "Only A Pawn In Their Game" rings as true today as it did in 1964, but this time it's brown people like Muslims and Mexicans as well as Black people like Medgar Evans who are in the target sights of the divisive pedagogues and rabble rousers and their good ol' boy and flag-shagger patsies.

The next album is called Sister. It's not quite as ambient as I found EVOL and I'm surprised how The Fall-like it sounds, especially album closer "Master-Dik".
