Could you clue us in please? The video just shows up as unavailable for me.I finally got that chance after crate digging this thread and finding your old post. As well as Tori I'm gonna try his previous album Treasures courtesy of Soul Jazz's reissue. He sure has a restful sound.

I was reminded yesterday that Metallica covered Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Tuesday's Gone."



It's kind of great? I never cared much for Metallica but it doesn't sound anything like my impression of them anyway. It's fairly faithful to the original and an all-star guest lineup includes Skynyrd founding guitarist Gary Rossington and John Popper of Blues Traveler on harp. Popper is phenomenal on it. It doesn't edge out the original for me but I definitely have to listen to it more.

Crazy. I heard "Gone Away" by The Offspring this morning for the first time in a long time and then not an hour ago I got it stuck in my head but as if it was performed by Bob Mould. Bob has a way of stashing trauma behind a wall of noise so it kind of works.

Very different for Queens of the Stone Age, but that's what makes them the band that they are. Never standing still.

It was released yesterday, then later I received an email (complete with pre-sale code) saying they're touring in my home city later this year... tickets purchased today :D

Was initially put off by the silly costumes and didn't watch. But listened to some of their stuff last night and it's pretty good. Featuring microtonal guitar and bass, live looping, and odd time signatures. They're a bit like Primus but 11 times weirder! A very tight band live.
