Traded the game in already so that's what I think of gymkhana.

Actually I'm being a bit harsh on Ben Klock.

The whole game is rubbish irrespective of gymkhana.

Wont catch me out with dirt 4 codies.

Care to elaborate? A critically acclaimed racer which provides an excellent racing experience, capitalises on viral trends and provides a variety of disciplines must be rubbish yes. If you don't like it, it doesn't mean it's rubbish particularly if you were one of those silly enough to think this would be a sim (don't believe the marketing, base it off your own research or other opinions).

Very little negative has been said with any real substance so far, just a bunch of rants about how rubbish things are with no real reasoning or explanation. If all people have to say is it's rubbish with no more explanation you may as well just place your vote and not post.

Still not seeing it, quote it for me because if you're referring to Aderrm you've read it wrong, he's using a '>' sign to denote that they prefer gymkhana to rallying in Dirt which is nothing to do with saying one is the same as another. If you mean somewhere else, quote it please.

He clearly never did standard grade maths. :dopey:

Gymkhana is weak , Ken block is weak , seen him and pastrana racing at the first Colin McRae memorial stages and Ken block was 43rd and pastrana 46th or some thing and they both got beat by a 60+ old man In a 25 year old metro who normally either wins or crashes and it's mostly The second

Great point well made, no wait that's completely irrelevant and makes you sound like a complete moron my mistake. If you're going to make an argument, at least make a good one.

I did expect a more sim like experience yes.

Am I wrong to expect that, well maybe maybe not. As this is the 3rd in the series I thought the sim qualities would have moved on.
I find dirt 2 to handle better but that's my opinion.

As for single player experience I find the lucky dip allsorts approach not for me.
Would have like shakedowns and pit repairs between stages but can't have it all.

Don't like the handling model. Seems very centre pivot point.
The steering support for wheels or the brakes.

I'm sure the best bits of the game will be found online. Especially the head to head races.

Don't mean to offend but I find the game rubbish.

Metacritic has the game ranked at Number 3 in the best racers on PS3.
So it must be me lol.

Peace.

How is it irrelevant ? Read the first line . The rest is an example of how weak mr block is .

You're wrong. But fair enough you are giving reasons. Unlike the rest of the people in here. :p
Why would they make it more sim-like if the series was never intended to be a sim? Why change a winning formula?
Go and buy RBR, I'm sure you'll love it if you can do a stage without totalling your car.
Bye.

What on earth is relevant about how poor Ken Block is at rallying when this thread is about Gymkhana in a game?

@spaghetti
It is you really there's just less who agree with you then those who hold another view point, but you've actually given some reasons (now) why you personally don't like the game. That is what the rest of those who don't like the game should be doing so others can understand their point of view rather then blabbering on complete rubbish like major moron over there.

I've given plenty of reasons why the game is decent and why gymkhana is decent, even though I'm not a huge fan of it either, so those who don't like it can understand it. Honestly it was wrong to expect a sim when you do your homework, the trailers and gameplay videos were enough to show me that the game would handle alot like Dirt 2 and indeed it does. Marketing will always say whatever consumers want to here, most people out there won't have a clue what realistic rallying would really play like but put in damage, speed and relatively challenging physics with a bit of slip and you'll fool them.

Because you explained absolutely nothing as to why, we get the fact you don't like it so then you're repeating yourself which is (you'll like this bit) completely and utterly pointless and irrelevant as a contribution to the discussion.

Hhahahahaha you crack me up , can't even get ma name right , so that's maths and English ur crap at

Ironyyyyyyy.
He was talking to spaghetti in the first part of his post you spanner.
You can't even spell "Haha" correctly.

Seriously? You already got a mathematical symbol wrong and you really don't want to be taking any grammar or spelling tests anytime soon. On that basis I think major moron is a much more appropriate name for you, if anything an understatement as you'd be a much higher rank of moron than major.

Where did get a mathematical symbol wrong ? The reason I miss spelt haha was because of quick typing on the iPhone

First time he posted before edit it didn't have @spagetti at the top

Because Aldo posted whilst I was writing, so I edited to clarify just incase any idiot didn't get what was going on. Try reading carefully, it's useful.

When whoever it was said "Gymkhana > rally", which you took to mean Gymkhana = rally. Silly.
Hmmm, you might want to trade it in for an HTC Desire. I have one and I rarely spell "haha" wrongly. 👍

Bye.

I am wrong...... about an opinion I have, don't think so.

Loved Dirt 1 and dirt 2's handling model if combined with Dirt 1's tracks would have been enough for me.

Why change a winning formula eh.
Seeing as were on a gymkhana thread, why add that then and change a winning formula?

I've given my reasons why I don't like the game whilst admitting I can see the attraction for others.

I actually think the sim side has diminished since Dirt 2.
For me they have changed a winning formula.
For others it's great.

No probs. Bye.

It's only a game chill out man Gymkhana is pants and I couldn't care what you think

Trust me, nobody cares what you think either. By chill out do you mean stop proving your wrong? How about post something useful, make a good point, explain your statements, think before you type, read properly before you reply and generally be less of an idiot? It will prove useful in the long run to us all.

That or just stop posting at all, you'll look more intelligent.

Well this thread has really gone in a great direction.

Dragon I can totally understand and agree with most of what you've said about why gymkhana is in the game, but that doesn't mean any of us has to like it.

I simply don't enjoy it. I have an appreciation for the real life skill that some of those guys have, but I have no real interest in gymkhana and it felt like a waste of my time. Its tony hawks pro skater in a car... and I played more than enough of that in my teens. I guess you can avoid a decent amount of it if you wish, but I think they kind of let the whole atmosphere of it overshadow the "dirt" portion of the game. Dirt2 was cheesy enough with its superstar interactions but this takes it to a whole other level.

I guess once you're out of your teens you're no longer in the target demographic for these companies, so I'll just stick to sims and some classics in the future.

So you thought you'd snap the disc... That's like what someone that is 12 would do.

I didn't claim it would mean anyone here or any one person would like it, merely explaining to those who don't like it why others do and would want it in the game 👍.

The beauty of a forum is seeing other viewpoints and understanding them, but unfortunately all some people have to say is 'this sucks' 'that's weak' etc. which doesn't enlighten anybody and ultimately they make fools of themselves. It really is better to not post if you (not you personally) aren't prepared to get into a proper debate about it.

It was a friday night after a stressful week at work and I didn't feel like having it around to waste more of my time.

At any rate I'm not telling you to snap your disk, or to not like gymkhana so lets go ahead and stop slinging insults arounds.

I can see why some people would see it being cheesy and very pro american but is it fun, hell yea!!! I play games to have fun, it also takes some skill to do (with trickaid) off especially using H gears and G27 like me.

Just wondering ... why are you using the H-shifter? Any current rally car will have a sequential (with paddles most likely). I can see it with classics, but not for the gymkhana cars.

And I also leave the aids off and try for platinum with no flashbacks in all of the challenges. I like having a G25 as I can lock the stick in sequential and use that for the e-brake. Lots of fun!

Just because I find going through the gears with the H shifter more rewarding. Powering in/out of corners and dropping it into gear is more fun than using the paddles. I've set the the right paddle for the ebrake because I find the buttons on the wheel a bit too small to hit especially when I'm turning the wheel at the same time.

Just personal preference.

I'm waiting DiRT 3 jut to play Gymkhana actually... and it's so damn FUN!!! ...this is the first time ever, a game has Gymkhana mode... i like to see Ken Block action, i want to ry that in game. And my dream come true :)

Yes it is hard, but the more u practice, u'll get it... u could do amazing stunts.

And the sound of the car is better than DiRT 2 am I right? Just so great for Gymkhana, Lovely :)
