Does a professional driver turn off any aids allowed in his discipline that allow him to lap faster just so he can feel superior to the rest of the field using said aid even though they're faster than him or do drivers use any aids at their disposal to make them go faster?
I suppose if you were an f1 driver you wouldn't use kers or drs as they're aids, right?

No driving aids, and I also never use Racing Softs, and rarely use Mediums. I've grown accustomed to that setup and using either throws me off.

This is a game, please, use whatever suits your preference, there are many drivers who choose to drive without aids, like me - against those who use every aids imaginable, I don't mind, and I do still can win, it's a personal choice, there's no noob or pro. I have seen many experienced players who still uses aids at times, no issues there. So please drop the noob comments.

The point of racing is to go as fast as you can (pretty much) so if using an aid makes someone go faster does it not defeat the purpose to not use that aid?

The point of having no aids is to make the racing realistic hence my series BST V8 CHALLENGE!! 👍

Thank you! Someone who actually has some sense.

Was not idiotic it's a fact.

I suppose you use other cars to get round corners lol

I use all the aids when I just cruise around, because I just like the grip, and being able to take corners faster. When racing, sometimes I'll use them, sometimes I won't.

Also, those of you calling people noobs for using aids, please stop. It doesn't make you a better person if you can race without them. Some people think it makes them so hardcore, when in fact, it does not. Like it was mentioned earlier, it's a personal choice, whichever suits you.

I don't think I'm hardcore believe me I just want the car realistic as poss which makes racing better. It is a sim game.

If racing was about being faster, everyone would drive the X1 exclusively. Racing is about being faster than the competition, sometimes aids are allowed, sometimes they're not.

Although in my opinion, I'd rather race with aids off even if it cost speed.

If you want realism, turn aids on. Some cars have undefeatable aids, and many race cars use them as well. The FGT description even explicitly states that the car relies on traction and stability control.

But you do think anyone who uses any driver aid is a noob.

People drive the way they want. Aids off = better drivers show through. Also i'll point out that some real life series use TCS... modern LMP's do, so having TCS off in them is not strictly realistic...

I personaly use no aids for the fun of it. (ABS on 1 though, sometimes off too)

When in 70 mph laws rooms etc, I like to have all aids off and find a car similar to my road car, Ford Fiesta 1998, since it has no electronic aids too :D.

Have also recently competed in a few all aids off spot races and it was very fun :).

That is why I said pretty much, meaning within the regulations of a racing discipline.
It wasn't that long ago that traction control was allowed in f1 so does that mean all the f1 drivers at that time were noobs or whatever? No it simply means they used what was available to assist them to go faster, no one would have got a special prize if they disabled traction control on their car (they probably weren't allowed to!) and if disabling traction control actually made them slower they would pretty quickly get sacked by their team for being so idiotic.

TCS was not forcible to turn off either I think.

Turn aids on for realism????

Yes. I suppose you don't follow racing.

My mistake then. This makes sense.

This is gt5 not real racing.

But you seek to make it realistic although it seems you don't do your homework on which driver aids are allowed in which disciplines.

Some people want to race for a game, some want to be as real possible. All depends on what you want to do.
