Happens to me, too! For some reason, not much people notices or says "eww" or something similar.

Only immature kids will go eww out loud, unless it was done at a table with a group of people around who happen to catch something flying out of your nose at the corner of your eye.

What Grinds my Gears?

Halfords, AKA Hellfrauds

I need a simple part for my Bike, a Mech Hanger, which is a commonly damaged part on a mountain bike, so common infact most riders carry a spare in there pack.

So I go into Halfords, who are the sole distributor for Boardman Bikes (I have a Boardman comp mtb) I go to the cycle service desk and wait for 20 minutes before some teenage oik finally shows up. I ask for a Mech hanger and he stares at me with a blank expression, having no clue what i'm talking about (Bear in mind he is the stores cycle tech) So I point the part out on another Bike and he looks on the store computer and says they have no stock. Anywhere.
I stated my displeasure at this and asked when they would have some, he said "no idea, ask head office"
I suggested that he should ask head office seeing as i'm the customer and it's his job to which he did after sighing and muttering under his breath.

Long Story short, head office also does not no when they will be getting stock in, so for the forseeable future I am all but bike-less.

:grumpy:

I am now writing a strongly worded email to the Managing Director of Halfords.

What grinds my gears: Hill starts. I'm learning to drive in an old Mini and hill starts are just plain scary :nervous:

Yeah, if you can go elsewhere. Luckily there are plenty of small independent shops near my, for bikes etc. Halfords is just full of idiots. In the job interviews for the cycle technician they ask "How many wheels does bicycle have?" If you answer correctly, you get a job.

Just give it the beans on the go pedal and adjust clutch accordingly... :D
I'm also learning to drive. Theory test tomorrow...

Good luck man, I managed to pass my theory first time, it's a piece of piss. All it is, is just common sense.

Cheers! Yeah been doing practice ones and I got 50/50 and 49/50 today haha! Still not read the highway code... Hazard perception is pretty easy too. :p

Being born on the 27th of july. Everyone in my year is learning to drive while due to the fact i am a baby in the year i have to wait aaaaggggeeeesssss :(

When Dan Wheldon dies due to an unsuitable track for Indy Cars which cause a massive crash/pile up. :( RIP Dan!

HAHAHA. I was just reading a thread about people complaining about manual cars with HILL ASSIST.
I'm surrounded by hilly roads with stops and lights at the top of every single one of them. I know your pain.

Meh, the students at my school are immature enough to do something like that.. And that's what will be grinding my gears tomorrow...

You're lucky, my birthday is October 21st. Also, I'm 1.5 years younger than almost everyone in my grade :ouch:

Everyone will be getting their licenses next year, while I'll have to wait until 2013 :banghead:

Being the only one of my friends who isn't able to drive (legally). I know what your going through

As you grow older you will learn not to let people grind your gears.

True. I need to know more about your avatar, too.

Concerning myself: slow people...I can't stand them. Some people's minds are probably busy not to forget breathing at all.

What do you want to know about my avatar?

And I am slow so I cannot agree. Its not that I'm not intelligent it's just that I'm forgetful and sometimes find it hard to concentrate. The latter reason is why my consistency while racing in GT5 is pretty bad.

When your called a worthless idiot at school, just for dropping a pencil..

I wouldn't take it so personally. If it was a teacher that said it to you can be safe in the fact that he / she is an alcoholic and probably has had a hard week disciplining crazy 12 year old kids. I know their pain.

Where does it come from? :p

Also: *peoples'. Sorry. Then again, it's not about being stupid but slow thinking...sdafjösdfajklösdfajöl....hate that.

I'm sorry but I don't have a clue. I saw it somewhere and I thought it was funny so that's why it's my avatar. I get commented on both my avatar plus user name frequently.

13 year old kids are just as bad. One girl in my class thinks dropping a giant ice-cube into the ocean is a solution to global warming.

Yeah...

You can't be serious...

Is she special-ed?

She's low set, but no, not special-ed. Another thought the Grand Canyon is a tank, and the same girl also asked 'How do people stay on the ground in Australia?'.

I hate my tutor group.

That really does suck.

What is grinding my gears?

I use my email account at school. Only I have access to the password. However, the schools IT department has access to all passwords used over the network. Meaning, that they changed my password. Because I can't access my email. At all.

This day keeps getting 🤬 worse. Grrrrrrrrrr.... [/Rage Quit]

I'm starting to think they do not like me.

Well I have a newsflash for them, they don't know what I am even capable of.

Because karma is a really, really bad itch.

I actually know people that thought/think that West Virginia isn't a state, as in it's just "West" Virginia.

In geography today someone asked if a secondary effect of an earthquake is Ross Kemp, basing this assumption on the fact he went to Haiti and said that it was still not repaired and there were bodies everywhere. Funnily enough, the teacher didn't really accept that statement.

Yr7s, or kids who have just come to secondary school annoy me. In my school, they strut around like they own the place, swear 'cuz it's cool, innit' and be 'rebels'. Because going in a door which is exit only makes you so cool doesn't it? Especially when there are people trying to go through the correct way!
