I hate how long it takes for full games off of the PS store to download. An hour and forty minutes and it's at 40%.

^ How many MB or GB?

Exactly. They invited us round for some tea and cakes (no mentions of English stereotypes please ;)) and while I was there they asked if I could fix their second controller which wasn't working. I fiddled for 10 minutes with the obvious (batteries etc.) but to no avail. I accepted defeat and flicked through the manual, and there was the answer. They hadn't synced it properly.

No worries, the English stereotype involves crumpets and tea usually in little fancy tea cups. :sly: Such annoying people over here.

Syncing? Oh boy, have I had that problem one to many times. Or at least 12 times.

You need a super fast internet connection...

Or just a wired connection. Wi-Fi makes it a lot slower.

I have wifi and it is 5402 MB. I got Homefront with some of the PSN cards I got. Does anybody know if it's any good? I played the demo and thought it was pretty good.

You dissin' my 40% signal strength Wi-Fi connection?

Yep. Wi-Fi is pretty crap. Our Internet speed on a wired computer is around 15-20 Mb/s, while the best I can get on Wi-Fi is 8-9 Mb/s.

Someone sent me a message on the PS3 and made it freeze. When I started it back up I almost corrupted it. I sent them a "not-so-nice-message" back letting them know I was not happy...

I'd love to have that connection. When I'm WIRED, I can only get 720 kbps.

It was probably a coincidence.l.

I think I'm using Wi-Fi. As I'm seeing, it's saying I'm getting 54 Mbps. 'Tis good?

It depends on the router...

Whatever router you have you will still lose speed over wi-fi, I can assure you. Things like walls and obstacles ruin speed, as does the fact it's travelling indirectly through air, rather than directly there via a cable.

I was on GT5 and we all know how the XMB menu doesn't work well on that game. They sent a message that just said "k", The dumb 🤬 really could've put it as the subject or not even have sent it at all.

That's either bloody good, or you're measuring mega-bits a second, while I'm talking mega-bytes a second. Can you check what it's measuring in?

The corruption screen appears whenever you unplug the ps3. You might want to back it up, in case you already didn't.

For a second I thought I was in the Gear Grinding thread. Then I realized this is the Slow chat thread with mattythedog and friends.

^ Most of them are discussing connection issues, which was a gear grinder. I kind of broke off into my own little conversation though.

I don't how to check, but I asked my dad, he said it is Wi-Fi (As I wasn't sure) and said it was mega bytes per second. :D

When MCLA freezes I've always unplugged it (I know now that it's not good to do that), but I've never seen that screen before.

:grumpy: Why me? Why not E28 and friends? And anyway, I was trying to work out why his download was taking so long...

That's very quick. I'm impressed, and jealous.

I gear grinded on the last page. I'm very very sowwy.

The fact that my friend has disregarded all advice I've given him and despite having enough money to wait a few months and buy a 32gb iPad 3, he runs out and impulse buys a 16gb iPad 2, and then spends the £80 he could've spent on more memory on random apps and programs...

If there's an iPad 3. ;) That reminds me, why is Apple stuff so bloomin' expensive? I just want a Mac but they start at like £900! When I can get a better laptop for £500! And I'd love an iPad, but they're just too expensive.

Indeed...

Anyhow, current gear grinder being how little I seem to post here. I've been at GTPlanet for just under a year and have 500 posts, where as people who joined at the same time as me have six times as many posts as me. I just seem to lurk. :indiff:

Think about this oh so under-used quote: "Quality, not quantity" :)

👍
And anyway, I lurked for around 2-3 months before I joined. And my first thread /post was nearly a month after that.

But he is saying "why do people cook them?". Presumably he means someone he knows (mother, father, a friend?) cooked some good food and gave it to him for him to eat.

In which he would prefer a takeaway instead.

Kinda odd though, as presumably a good home cooked food is better than a takeaway that is dripping in oil and fats....

I see your point, you're right I was in that situation. I'd still prefer a burger from my dad. He makes his own patties and they're really filling.

I appreciate the time put in but I'd much rather something a little more... I don't know, not fancy.

Anyway, my shower grinds my gears, you can't use water anywhere else in the house while someone is in the shower or the water goes cold. Someone is in the shower and I need to use the toilet. So I decide to go in there, pee and not flush the toilet, and go back when it's not running. But after I pee, its just like natural habit and I flush it. Since the toilet in a small room next to the bathroom, whoever was in the shower could hear me shouting, "Do'h!!!!" This isn't the first time either. I've done it at least two or three times before!

I lurk around as well, but weirdly I always get posts in.

And yet you have 14ppd?

Try telling that to my History teacher, he set my class a two-page essay during the holidays :grumpy:

That's a short essay for a history teacher...

I see an Orange Lamborghini Murcielago parked in the mall parking lot, but couldn't get a picture. :p

I never said I lurk now. :sly:
A gear grinder, wannabe mods. There's a thread in the marketplace that the OP "bumped", and this guy said "we don't tolerate that here". I'm thinking, who gave you the authority to say this? Stop bossing people around! Not that I actually posted that...
