Dunno. Childish enough to make it up, since that didn't actually happen?
A post largely in French (about two thirds, no provided translation) was removed by a member of staff and the person who posted it originally asked why it was removed - to which I responded. No-one was warned. Or "warned". They may have been "offended", but that's not something we can control.
I cannot comment on this, since the post in question has been deleted, so I have to believe
@steefpeef that he just quoted a 4-words quote from a world-famous writer, and I have no problem with reading posts in other languages that I can speak.
If it's a language I don't speak, I just don't read it nor comment on it, period.
I hear you saying now "but it's an infringement of the AUP". That is correct, but one could approach things a little more relaxed too.
And if somebody is really afraid that the text in the foreign language contains an offence, we all have Google Translate and I even managed to translate Japanese text written in Japanese characters into German because I had to.
It's a common policy of Mods in nearly all forums to delete posts that are a bit... how should I say... "tasty".
Hard luck for the ones who come too late to make a judgement of their own or build an opinion.
And that hasn't happened either. In fact Praiano's access to the site is no different than it was last week.
I did not mean "expelled" in the sense like when a citizen is expelled from his country.
What I meant was, that all this hassle has made him fed up and turn away in disgust. And this is a reaction I can understand and retrace.
Especially as far as I can see from the posts that have been left over, his opponent is not the "little innocent" he pretends to be, and this "friendship" seems to go on since a long time.
And both of them know that whatever they say to each other will provoke the Opponent even more again.
I agree with you that at a certain point in time they should have rather blocked each other (the cleverer gives in) instead of soldiering on, which does not work out if one of them has a strong sense for justice and feels unjustified repeatedly attacked (or trolled).
However, at the end of the day
@praiano63 is fed up enough to leave and that is sad.
I believe that this incident was handled in a very unlucky manner by all persons involved, but you can't uncook a steak.
