Yes I would love to see someone survive travelling 400+km/h with nothing protecting them ie: a car and survive. Science is your friend, gravitational forces sadly, are not.

Unfortunately. Great way to have some fun before you go though =P I don't know if you heard but there was a guy that got a Ford GT up to like 240 mph and died of a heart attack while in motion lol.

same

we have a CLS 63 sitting in the garage, 6.2 liters of pure german engineering - finesse

and my brother in laws c5 z06 with 7.0(427) c5r motor putting about 600 whp(all motor) pure american muscle - raw power

I got a old F250 putting down 540hp (MUSCLE CAR POWER). Old engine put down 780hp. Out of a 5.8L. We want to go to a 7.5L V8 (460) and build it to 13.1 liters.

nice! those are all gas? i have seen some monster turbo diesel trucks pushing insane amounts of torque. smoke machine?

may only get .001 miles to the gallon but we have fun doing it. 'merica... hell yeah! lol

The 780 ran on alcohol but yes the 540 one runs on 87 octane pump gas due to the old school low compression build on it, it basically took stock parts off another engine and built a 393 stroker out of it (real displacement is 402 cubic inches, 351 Windsor block, .030 overbore, Ford 400M engine crank and rods, 302 0.030 pistons gives 402 cubes, 351W rods would make it a 393) (looks stock though) and with 8.5:1 compression and a RV cam it puts all that power out below 3500 rpm so it spins all 4 33 inch tires with ease. The low compression is nice for pump gas and in case we want to turbo it, which I doubt will happen. It's funny because it looks completely stock and when you stomp on it you move. Heavy duty and regeared C6 3 speed auto into a Dana Spicer 44 up front and Dana 60 rear with 4.10 gears.

I'm not joking when I say it gets 3-6 miles a gallon.

If it runs on alcohol, it's drunk  JUST KIDDING.

I live in Texas, trucks is all I see. All sorts of trucks!

Yeah I live in NY. We are just as redneck lol Problem is the salt from snow, rots bodies out but mines lasted nearly 30 years and I'm just now starting to relpace panels. Some are still good.

Video recorded, using a 1970 Challenger be(cause they came with launch control right?). Just gotta upload, which could take a bit due to Aussie upload speeds being miserable. Please more people claim it doesn't exist. I'm Mclovin it!

Watch this video not be anything like launch control. $20 on it

The evidence is clear, but you're using the wrong terminology 👍

Less than 10 minutes to upload 15 odd MB, damn my net is a trooper these days.

My internet amazes me, but I guess that doesn't explain why I tree beetwos' gtrs all day, I must use cheats...But you already knew that.

Sorry guys...

-_- Are you serious?

You call this launch control? Boah!

This trick is well known and this since the very first days. We call(ed) it "phantom clutch",
MNP
But you already knew that.

@Festor
It's a trick and it works, but it's nothing new.

So now we're going to get 10 different people with 10 different ways of how I do this? Just like tuning hey, 10 different ways and only only one person knows why theirs works. Phantom clutch? That's priceless. Funny I search that term and it's non-existent, funny no-one else has stated or called it this, yet hundreds, maybe thousands have referred to it as launch control, the search button is your friend, but you already knew that.

Honestly Slump, I know you know what you're doing, I've been around long enough. I used to race you back on SSR11 but quickly gave it up due to the lag and lack of Aussie interest(was only me and mafiaboy back then). I don't why you follow this band of sheep, since your not on any of their teams, do you just feel peer pressure to conform for fear of rejection? I'm about 10 years beyond those issues.

But at least you admit that it exists, compared to festors awesome accusation that I have someone else on another controller(wait you can bget two controllers as controller 1???) doing it for me..That is sig worthy.

That's been known for sooo long it's not even funny. Everyone and their mother knows about that. That's not launch control

HMMMMM, not one mention or one search result on google nor here about this 'phantom clutch', yet there's nine topics alone on GTP labelled 'launch control'. Funny thing is, those topics have been on GTP longer than most of you repliers have known about GTP, now that really says something.

I've been here for 2 years lol

The newer guys called it launch control. The original name coined was phantom clutch however it was one of those things kept in secret amongst the faster guys. Slowly things are starting to leak.

Mafiaboy? Ask him if you want, I bet he can tell you a nice long interesting story about it.

Because it was nothing we discussed here on GTP. The most stuff runs in the background, pm's and online lobbies. I thought you knew that.

I still prefer phantom clutch, cause launch control is already used for something else.

Found this thread where a moderator says that launch control doesn't exist.
Well, he's right. But please be aware that also moderators can be wrong, they are gamers like we all.

So the ebrake light staying on must be called a 'phantom light' right? It's not meant to signal that something is engaged? Man, lots of ghosts in the GT5 shell hey?

EDIT: and all that stuff that goes on in the background is why half have no clue what their doing, why else did you come here? This is also the reason i'm questioning your little group validated facts, because i've seen this before and probably will again, if I buy another car game involving drags and no legitimate measurement tool. Too many people copy each other here, and it's too funny when someone who supposedly 'knows the ins and outs' is asking other 'pros' what's what. Original tuners get owned daily it seems.

Phantom clutch was the original name and to this day is called the same thing. That's whe way it's always been.

Seriously though I cannot believe you didn't this if you claim to know as much as you say. Sure looks like it.

EDIT:

No the name covers the whole thing. Everything you do.
