What is wrong with the online racing and people discriminating ???

French and Spanish are bad for kicking me out for the crime of having a British flag next to my name, I would say French being the worst for it! Dirty drivers too!

I'm not gunna lie, but it's usually the Spanish, French & Italians that are the worst people online. I can almost always guarantee that at least once in a long GT5 session I will get some Spanish guy who thinks it's funny to knock everyone off the track or drive backwards.

I had the same experience in F1 2010. That's not saying all Spanish people are silly, just the select few I've had the pleasure of 'racing' with..

I have noticed lots of rooms with only english only spanish etc etc
This morning i have even seen a room that was called "I hate asian's"

Now i am wondering what the hell is wrong with people are they so narrowminded now a days ?

One of the nice things about online racing is to meet people from other country's and talk to them about everything but what i see happening at the moment i do not like very much 👎👎👎

I get what you're saying, but this isn't really GT5 related.

On several occasions I was kicked out short after joining, obviously with no apparent reason than the flag next to my PSN.

P.S. Just to mention that I have ultra fast internet (30-40 mbps) and never join servers with less than 4 connection bars and usually have very smooth network experience.

I don't mind people who want to play with people from their own country, such as "US only", "Only Spanish" etc.

What I absolutely despise is outright racism: "No Pakis", "Muzzies can blow themselves up"

Another thing I hate is people who don't label their rooms appropriately, then kick you for not being from the region they want to. Anes comes to my mind.

This wouldn't be half as bad if you weren't redirected to the main menu each time:mad:

They're probably Microsoft and Forza 4 developers who are ruined b/c everyone ended up buying PS3 wheels...

You= EPIC FAIL, double face palm.

There are wheels that work on both systems, and many gamers that own both systems, love both games, no need to be one of the narrow minded fanboys that have no real opinion.:grumpy:

This seems to be a good thread. This kind of stuff needs to be talked about maturely and its seems thats happening here. People who know me know my stance on this kind of behavior and that I just wont tolerate it. Im an Italian American and I can take the greasy jokes that comes along with it and Ill laugh along but only when its in good fun. When someons feelings get hurt then its not right. I think whats being talked about here though is the more malicious kind and theres many different ways to handle those kinds of situations. Most of them have already been discussed.

The fact is that there are jerkoffs from all walks of life, all countries, all religions. There is nothing Sony or PD can do about that. One of my pet peaves is when people recommend an action that takes away a freedom in order to baby the people who are easily offended and cant think like an adult. They dont see any options other than how can someone else fix this issue for me. This game gives us all the tools to deal with racists idiots and its up to us to use them. I repeat its up to us to use them. You have the option to create private lounges and you have the power to kick idiots out of public rooms. In many racing games you have neither of those options. Because god forbid someone get excluded. You also have the option to not join public rooms or leave one that turns ugly. More importantly everyone who has complained about this kind of behavior almost has the responsibility to counter that behavior by opening a room thats friendly.

At the end of the day, no matter where your from and who you are we all want the same basic things out of life. We all have more in common than not. We are all from the same species regardless of what you believe or what you look like. Therefore in a way we are all brothers and sisters. Especially those of us who are brought together by a common interest like racing.

And I'm 300 lbs, can't turn right, everything I drive is a muscle car and have some sort weird relationship with a cousin. 👍

Now we can all get along.

LOL .. you 2? I thought I was the only one on here?

Whats funny Is I grew up in the south and have somewhat of a draw when I talk. So of course I am a redneck idiot that sleeps with his sister and so on.....

Or when they start the white pride crap I throw out my mothers jewish heritage and the fact that I am proud of it really pisses them off

I find the racists who aren't even good at being racist very entertaining.
In meaning like they see a flag, and they don't know what country it is, or for that matter what continent its even on.
So they keep calling names of different ethnic groups until they get a response.

I think it deals with your countries reflection.
Not offending anyone here but.
Some times I see japanese rooms that say no americans.
And when I go to american rooms and compare it to a japanese rooms (drifting)
there seems to be a difference.
American rooms tend to have a higher rate of pickup trucks and x1's.
While japanese rooms tend to have a higher rate of classic japanese drifting cars. (s13,s15,rx7 ect.)

I don't know why but it's usually in my cases based off of your countries reflection.:grumpy:

Also some people think all americans are rednecks (there are people who think that). D=

There is so much discrimination, racism online in GT5, and ignorance toward other people cultures. An American once asked me if ``Canadians celebrate Christmas ``:odd:. I see rooms that say ``no blacks`` all the time , how can they even tell who the black people are??? lol... anyway point is most of the idiots who are prejudice, culturally ignorant (above and beyond anyone else I have come across), and straight up racist, have all been Americans (based on my own personal experience).

Oh and I wont even get started on how bad a lot of them are toward Mexicans.

LOL...you'd think the French would still be grateful for the Brits kicking the Huns out 70 years ago and rescuing them from Facism...lol. How soon they forget..lol. Bloody hell...

What offends me is people who make statements like yours.
I also think its funny how many people like you percieve Americans ( A country probably more diverse than any country on the planet ) as ignorant and race intolerant.

While this may be your experience (Who am I to argue your experience) your intelligence and sense of logic should prevail. You should come to the realization that your experience isnt an absolute.

Honestly the one country who stands out in my mind is France. In my experience drivers from France can be brutal but im not going to go out of my way to point that out for I understand each country has good people and jerkoffs. BTW I love France. Its a great country full of great people.

As far as Americans treatment of Mexicans, while I dont condone or agree with poor treatment of Mexicans this exists because of real and important reasons. Theres are some big issues our two countries have been sorting out and trying to find ways of dealing with these issues in a proper manner. Its not easy dealing with issues of border security and illegal immigration which puts real stresses on both Mexican and American citizens who choose to honor laws and regulations. But at the end of the day those issues should not be brought into a video game.

LOL , thats funny ... Just because they live here does not make them americans.. But I know what you mean about the people here. I married a hispanic woman and brought her back to my podunk town of 150 people . You would have thought we had the plague the way people avoided us for awhile. But I was the only one who had to be happy not them..

I say left-handed people rule and all you right-handed people should be exterminated except for a couple to use scissors for us. I don't care what nationality or colour you are either! Bloody scissor-fascists!

LOL...seen that a few times...it is pretty funny in a dark humour sort of way. I don't like piling on Americans but I think the reason we here in N. America see a lot of this bad behaviour in some Americans, is because the majority of people we play with online are Americans so it only follows that most of the bad behaviour will be Americans just by sheer numbers. I've met and raced with lots of good American drivers and some bad but I've such limited experience with other countries online that I couldn't form an opinion.

I've been to a few places in the world and for the most part people are all the same, working hard just trying to get by, raising families, enjoying their life as best they can. Some are richer, some are poorer, but at heart we're all pretty much the same. As Rodney King once said, "Can't we all just get along?"....lol.

Well said, America is a cultural melting pot and most of that racism has been brought it from a far. This is the land of black presidents so do not assume that gun-hugging religious nuts with a sense of liberty of non-compliance with the IRS get their way here. We have Guantanamo and we're not afraid to put anyone who disagrees with us in it.

Dude, I don't mean to be argumentative, but I don't think there is a more racially diverse country in the world than Canada, and by a long margin. I've been to many major American cities from San Fran and Oakland, to New York, Detroit (5km from home), Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cleveland etc. and although there is some racial diversity, it's nothing like it is here. Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are probably all in the top 10 most racially and ethnically diverse cities in the world and I would guess that Toronto takes the cake. Last stat I remember, 50% of people who live in Toronto were not born in Canada. I believe Miami may be in the lead as far as foreign born people living there, but the majority of them are from Cuban or Latin American descent, whereas in Toronto there are at least 40 different, thriving, ethnic communities with significant popuplations.

And yes, for the most part, we all just get along...lol. Even in my little city of Windsor, pop. 200,000 we have a three term mayor whose parents were born in Lebanon, I believe the fourth most popular spot for Muslim immigrants in Canada and because of the work I do, I regularly run into people from all over the world. In the past week alone I've run into Russians, Arabs of all kinds, Africans, Ukrainians, South Americans...it's completely routine here.

I must admit most of the racism I've seen online has come from Australians and apparently drunk British people (they were on the headset and slurring all of their words). Most Americans I've met online have been fine.

I understand and appreciate the mature discussion but your changing the game. We went from comparing countries to hand picking certain cities within countries. You arguably picked the least diverse cities in the US while Highlighting at least one of the most diverse Canadian cities.

Some food for thought. Im not ignorant on either of our two countries since I maintain a residence in both. Living 20 minutes from the border has been a blessing since Im able to enjoy both to the fullest. You cant ignore though that America was built by immigration and I would have thought you or anyone would have made that connection. But thats not the point to be emphasized anyways. This isnt really a competition It was meant to show how rediculous it was to generalize a country for being racists when again, America was built by immigration and believe me is one of the most diverse countries on the planet.

BTW its only natural for Canada to be diverse as well seeing as though we share a border and a great relationship. In fact there are many similarities between our two countries. More so than differences. How else could we get along so well if we werent so similar?

Yesterday I entered a spanish room, and when I entered they started to tell something in Spanish saying my name and laughing. After 4 races where I owned them by a large margin, they started to play unfair against me, braking in front of me in the middle of straights to make me take a penalty, or pushing me out the track (we was playing with the reverse start based on the previous race results, so I started everytime in last position), just because I was too fast for them... I continued to play only because to win against these idiots is just awesome, they do all the dirty things to take you off and you still win, and they gets more angry...

Happened to me with some frenchmen, and unfortunetly for them i know swear words in french, so i heard them calling me an english retard and such... i owned them in 3 races and then they kicked me

Are you denying that many Americans are racists and culturally ignorant outside of their own borders? Is racism not entrenched within the American root and foundation of who they are as a people. IS it really odd to find many who are still racist today? I would say not. Is it logical to assume that the world is flat when your experience tells you that it is round? If your experience did not tell you that 1 plus 1 did not equal 2, would it be logical to assume it did? Im not saying that there are not plenty of great people in the US because there are, however, it would appear at times that those people do not make up this a large part of the GT5 American online. My point is that how can one assume something to be logical when their personal experience based on factual evidence proves contrary to what that individual may believe.

additionally, cultural tolerance is the partially the cause and reason for continued stereotypical ideals, and prejudices. I think its time to move away from cultural tolerance and head toward social acceptance and integration.

Its really sad, but you know what, there are douchebags in every country and religion, its a fact of life. Sometimes when I read this forum and see really insensitive posts I cringe when I see they are from the US as that hits me at home. I try to never judge people based on country or religion, but on personal choices/actions. To ME personally if someone kicks me from a room for being American or whatever, I couldnt care less, they are losing out on someone that just wants to have fun. I dont really want to associate with those types of people anyway.

Also, It would be more correct to say that America was built by slavery and the exploitation of 3rd world countries. Further, sustained by immigrants and indigenous (dare I say, they were not even indigenous to the land either). I wasnt making generalized comments that applied to all either. I used words like many, always with respect to certain individuals based on factual evidence.

I'm usually doubly discriminated. I have my spanish flag and like to join spanish rooms to minimize lag... but my predetermined messages are in english because it's the language I use to communicate online 99% of the time... and I get kicked both in spanish rooms and in english speaking rooms. :(

Look up Fun Racers on here...We all chase Pitihawk from Spain, and we love the challenge. I can only suggest looking for people here that dont care two ****s about what country someone is from, only that they are a good person!
