Now this is something new.

What perked your interest in this one Pako?

We were sitting around the table last night and I was talking about donating blood and showing off my donor card and wouldn't you know it, I began to wonder about GTP and it's demographics. I was pretty sure it hadn't been polled before that thought it might be interesting to see the percentages and how they relate to national averages as this is a nationally accessible site. Besides, it's good to know who you can get blood from should you need some.... :)

I remember in 7th grade they told us that one of the types of blood can go into any blood (like O+ or -, i forgot) and there was somthing else. But i forgot.

Edit.. now that i search it i found this nice little picture!

Looks like anyone can take O blood (so if you have O, go donate!)

But, anyone with O blood cannot take blood from any other type of blood, such as A, B, AB. AB Blood types can take any blood.

I have no-idea what type of blood I am and don't really care at the moment.

I personally don't think I'll ever give blood. First off I'm one of those types that really doesn't like needles. Secondly, the runner part of me feels that it'd be wasting blood that I had worked hard to build up. I've heard alot of arguements that oppose my second one, I still can't see past it.

Oh, and im very surprised some of you dont know your blood type. In karting usually we have it on our helmets somwhere, or on our side pods (has our name, country flag (kinda like a pride thing) then it has blood type)

Funny that a most people that posted here don´t know what blood type they are. I know mine since I was a kid, pretty much everybody here knows their blood type.

I donated blood last spring but I still don't know what blood type I am. I don't think I've ever had a blood test, so I never really got told. I've always kinda wanted to know though.

I'm AB+ I believe. I donated through my high school in February 2004. It was definately a neat experience.
Same here with the blood type.
Or at least 1 of the AB types, I know that much.

AB-, I give blood every 50 some days. Hell I've given a ton of it over the years.

O-, I feel special. I can donate to whomever, but I can only take O- blood!

wait, that means if i need a blood transfusion, then there's a much smaller chance of getting it! Uh oh!

Not even O+? I'm not sure how it works........ All I can say is, I should avoid serious car accidents.

I know I'm type O, but I have no idea if its positive or negative...
Me neither. What do you say we start a new blood type? We shall call it, "O?".
