What is your driving style?

Brake late into an apex, then push hard out of the corner as early as possible ... which leads to a quickly worn out tires :)

But during online races, I tend to drive smoothly, intimidate the car in front, make them make mistakes then overtake. Left foot braking, threshold braking as I never use ABS brake assists, nor any other assists, still doable with DS3 as well. My wheels broken, so i tend to drive rather rough, it's harder without assists, feeling those hard late braking with my thumb, but well worth it for the challenge

As roadrocket said above. A good driver should adapt to the racing situation :)

I most definitely would have been slower if it wasn't just a free run =p, besides it was a Ferrari youre supposed to wind the hell out of it
 
I'm all over the place on my driving style based on aids, setup, car, and track.

The first lap, I'm usually getting a feel of the track and my car, finding what I can and can't do. Afterwards, its just trying to knock down lap times if I'm tuning or catching the leader if I'm racing.

I do have a tendency to muck up delicate cars due to the clumsy DS3 (though I'm shooting for DFGT over the summer). I guess that makes me a wild driver :scared:.

Its been a while since i last posted but one thing that i question about is what type of style do people drive with? I know some people are clean and some are reckless but how would you describe your own style. For example,i drive reckless sometimes and then later clean.

So what is your style?
 
I'm still trying to develop my driving style :D

Trying to make it clean, but have a habit of not braking often, which can turn into reckless driving. In all honesty, it depends on the race I'm doing at the time the most. If it's a hard race, I'll try and keep it as clean and fluid as possible. However if it's a real easy race, I'll end up drifting around corners etc.
 
My driving style is trying to keep the car on the road.some people try to drive as fast as they can but they gonna mess up easier.i change my driving style when I'm using a slipper car to a car with x1 level of grip.im a good drifter too.
 
I generally tend to like a bit of balanced, easily controllable oversteer kind-of-setup to coax the car into the corners better, and also partly because it feels more satisfying (and fun) to correct the oversteer.

I also tend to try to drive as smoothly as possible, by not making extra unnecessary steering inputs when possible.

There is no such idea of a driving style. You are essentially quizzing about ones ability to drive on tarmac or similar surface in a racing game.
The reason that one would drive recklessly is due to them being incompetent or lacking concentration.

I have to disagree with you now the driving style should change with the race for example an endurance race you want to drive clean and fuel efficiently;if doing a seasonal you want to drive aggressively as you star in the back, so style it's not personal it's the race not incompetency or lack of concentration
 
I'm all over the place, though I try to follow a good line.
I don't really care about the crappy AI, because they don't care about me ;)

If I do time trials (and I do a lot), it's mostly clean and making good use of the tracks width.
 
I'm very courteous. Even in a dirty race, I won't push the guy next to me.

I'm not aggressive especially when I'm driving with people better than me. I feel terrible if I ruin anyones race

No he's right. There's a difference between driving aggressively and driving recklessly. I read the OP as basically saying that he wasn't very good. I drive aggressively too, both in my KTM Karting in my own time and in gt5. But driving aggressively isn't reckless if its controlled and clean, driving recklessly is an inability to do drive correctly. IMO. Why do you think you get penalised for reckless driving over aggressive style?
 
Very clean...early straightline braking...slow in with a tight inside line....fast out ...full throttle at the apex. Very few mistakes tend to award 3rd or better finishes most of the time.
 
Generally I push cars to their limits quite easily, and I much prefer a loose oversteery car to an understeery one. Even if that means spinning and binning several times. It's just more fun kicking the tail out than watching as the nose of the car slowly drifts towards the outside wall.

Tyres... what tyres? :p Shows how much I race with tyre wear on (hardly ever).

Gotcha. To be fair, there is a middle ground where a car can be loose and fun at Suzuka, but not suicidal like the Yellowbird lol.
 
Apply as much brake as possible before lockup and then apply a little gas before turn in. Then a little more, and then none, all while never releasing the throttle throughout the turn. Thus I don't give a damn about my tires. Fuel consumption yeah. Tires, not so much in GT5 unless my setup is bad. If need be, I'll crank the handbrake a little to get into the turn.


Car must be loose though.
 
I have often been called a dirty driver, but that is because i am an very aggressive driver. I don't ram people on purpose, and i'm good at giving room to other drivers. But i'm very bad at dive bombing. (which i often do) Sometimes it can happen that i nudge people a little bit. Not so much that they spin out, but just a little nudge. But sometimes i can have very close races with other aggressive drivers. Which is fantastic for me.
 
What is your driving style? - Neutral-Oversteer.



Do you go hard on tyres or preserve them? - I run ABS=0 so I induce more tyre wear than optimal, but when I get in the zone I am pretty gentle on the rubber.

How do you get onto the throttle, jab it or are you progressive - Not as smooth as I'd like (run TCS=0) Often takes me a couple of laps to dial in just how much I can give it the beans on corner exit. But swapping about cars tends to make the first fresh lap a journey trying to find out what the limit is.

Which driver would you compare yourself too?

My driving style is is basically oversteer or a 4 wheel drift with minimal counter steer or 0 counter steer if i can .
If the race is longer than 10 laps I try to keep to the cleanest line possible after about 9 laps to try and conserve tires
 
I'd say I tend to stray more towards oversteer, im a progressive driver in that, I take a lap or two to get fully adjusted to the car before I start going for hot laps, pushing a little harder lap by lap, im progressive on the throttle alot too, although I'd say I like to have a mix of smooth and controlled driving/hard and agressive driving depending on the situation

I prefer a neutral car with no particular over- or understeer in it, but if I had to pick one, it would be extremely slight oversteer.

When racing, I tend to go all out when alone, but I'm extremely careful in pack racing. Sometimes so careful I might waste a lap or two trying to pass another driver, because I really can't live with myself if I force myself through by brute force - unless the other guy's severely blocking on purpose, of course.
