Just birthday glitch. I had all the 20 million cars when I just started the game.
 
I've bought the P4 race car and I'm totally satisfied.
Took it to historic championship in stock condition. The best a-spec race so far for me.

I quite like the Miura, i would likely buy that car.
 
As a collector/racer, my goal is 4 (tuning)version of every car in teh game.

Then again I could end up getting more cars than that even .... i expect long loading times getting into my garage eventually, current car count 1.050 and rising ...
 
I'm probably gonna get the Mark IV, just 'cause.
 
I traded for a 330P4, won the XJ13 and traded for the X2010. Yeah...that just leaves the MkIV which I had wanted for quite a while before that idiotic trade limit came about.
 
I would love to start buying colored X2010s, but I'm not at level 40 yet.

But I am incredibly glad I used 1967 tickets to get the Miura and 330 P4. I especially love the Miura and I'm glad I didn't save an insane amount of money just to drive it.

I grinded my way to 20 mil, bought the 330 P4, and became incredibly disappointed. I'm not saying it's a bad car, but it's not worth 20 mil for it's driving merits. Yes it is rare, but does that really mean anything in a video game?

For me it's the fun of driving cars that is the point of GT5, and to be honest driving a Ferrari 458 at less than a 50th of the price of the 330 P4 is much more fun.

The next time I reach 20 mil (its going to take a long time as I keep buying UCD race cars now) I'm going to get a X2010. At least that has some unique driving characteristics.
 
Already got S.Vettel and pink x2010. I want to buy a blue and a purple x2010 now. Not long left as I am level 39 A-Spec. :D
 
The MKIV is my next target then the Miura. Have the Ferrari :) The Jag is a better car than it though.
 
I got a 330 P4 in a trade awhile back then I got another 1 from a lvl 21 ticket. Otherwise I have all the $20m cars that you don't win...

The ford mark iv is not my current target, if it was I would be 16 million credits short. I'm currently going for anything that pleases my eye, I think that the Mark IV is meant to be for the people who have done most of the challenges. I haven't even done half yet.

So my heart is set on the Miura, with the Mark IV coming close second:D

The Miura is 15 million not twenty.

Which also happens to have been the winner of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Polyhony Digital Trophy in 2008. Not sure where the error lies, but I don't think the GT5 car is priceless.
 
i grinded and saved for 330 ferrari . not a bad car but slightly dissapointing . the jag is much better and sounds great too. the engine note sounds very flat on 330 for an italian v12 !

Yeah, the pinnacle of sports car racing in '67 is just a decent performing car in 2011. Still one of the greats of all time, but 40+ years of evolution makes a really big difference...

I'm saving for the Mk IV right now. I have the P4 in Forza, so I guess it's not as high a priority in GT5.
 
None. No 20mill car is necessary to finish the game, so I'm not trying to buy one.
 
Mark IV or Ferrari... still can't make up my mind... and that's assuming I don't blow my load on the Miura the first chance I get.

GT does nothing to help me learn "budgeting". It's a damn good thing you can't go into debt in this game.

Tough to drive with no arms and no legs.

Hey, it doesn't take that long to earn 20 mil. Consider the American Championship - you can run 5-lap event at Indy in 4 minutes, give or take a few seconds. Purse is 97,600. 15 events per hour comes to 1,464,000 per hour. Of course, it's a long way from there to 20 mil, but throw in an hour here and an hour there, and bingo!

Added bonus - for each 5-race session you receive a full roster of autos at the Used Car Dealership.

It may just be a question of perspective. I don't 'need' any more cars, and I'm still buying cars up to about 300k while I'm trying to reach 20 million. I just have to bypass (temporarily) the 1 million+ cars. There's no hurry -- I'm just playing the game. There aren't many more cars I can actually win in the game, so the car rewards are pretty much irrelevant. There's just this pile of electronic money that keeps accumulating every time I drive in a race, and when that pile happens to reach 20 mil, I'll buy an expensive car and start over.

It all depends on your reason for playing the game. For someone like you, that seems to enjoy cars mostly for their performance, those old cars just aren't going to do it. Not necessarily just the FASTEST cars, I know, but the cars that seem to be the most fun to drive for you.

Nothing wrong with that but I love driving the cars that have a lot of history behind them. To me, they have a lot of soul and heart. They left a real mark in the racing community. Sure, it's just a video game but I know that is the closest I will ever come to driving one of those things.

If they aren't for you then don't buy them. That's what's so great about GT, there's something in it for everyone :D

Well, unless you absolutely hate cars for some reason but even if you're a green freak it's got hybrids and electric cars too!

edit: The problem I'm having is in my quest to save up for the 10-20 million dollar cars I keep coming across other cars that I "need" and find myself spending almost as much as I'm bringing in on those cars.
 
Here's mine, after a lot of racing, it's finally in the garage.
 
White, orange ,or stormy blue Red Bull X2010 since I have the other $20 million cars.

My rankings of the 3 premium $20 million cars:

Ferrari - The most fun to drive of the three. You can throw it's weight around corners very easily. Definitely a blast to drive.

Ford - Great if you like sliding around turns. Overall a solid car and probably the most balanced of the three.

Jaguar - The best of the three in handling. Can't think of many cars with better handling.

Lamborghini (Only $15 million) - Mix between the Ford Mark IV and of course a Lamborghini. Skittish when you break and turn but extremely stable everywhere else. It also looks the best out of the premium classic cars but that is just my opinion.
 
Miura, I had the Ford Mark IV before. It was terrible, don't waste your credits on it (you're welcome :).)
