Did someone just mention Senna? Because if you like that and want more of the same, check out Top Gear Season 15 Episode 5, 2nd half, goddamn tear jerking rememberance of what would've been his 50th birthday...
Yes, watched it on youtube. I've never seen Jeremy Clarkson as serious as when he describes Ayrton Senna.Did someone just mention Senna? Because if you like that and want more of the same, check out Top Gear Season 15 Episode 5, 2nd half, goddamn tear jerking rememberance of what would've been his 50th birthday...
Just watched I'm A Cyborg, But It's OK It's from the same director as Oldboy. The film is definately Chan-wook Park style with interesting cinematography mixed with themes of vengence. The movie has some funny moments but the characters are so insane that you never really connect with the story. This movie is a Korean version of Drop Dead Fred and before you see I'm A Cyborg you should watch; Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengence, Sympathy for Mr Vengence and Thirst.
6/10
Cool! I thought the story was disconnected too but I just kept thinking this is an artsy film so I forgave the stuttering narrative. It wasn't worth the effort in the end. Interesting that we gave the film similar scores I really wanted to give it a 5 but I thought that was too harsh.

True Grit - (6.5/10)
Going into the movie it felt good. Good atmosphere, good story, good motives for the main character. I was ready for a 7.5. Then we meet Matt Damon's character, a Texas Ranger. Now, there is no issue with how Damon played the role as a whole but this scene annoyed me. It was as if the director told him to act proud of being a Texas Ranger and he took it to cocky ass levels, even tilting his head back and giving an indignant sniff as he said it. Half point off for a bad scene that pushed the boundaries of over-acting. Then later the girl, the main character, fords a river so deep that her horse had to swim while she hung on to his reins, so at least 8 feet deep, with her head occasionally going under water. Then she walks out and starts talking to Jeff Bridges, completely dry from head to toe. It was as if we skipped four hours of time as she walked 20 feet. Another half point off. The only movie-long annoyance was how Josh Brolin played his character, the man they were chasing. There was talk of how wiley and clever he was, changing his name, always being able to hide, and then Josh Brolin played him as a drunken idiot who couldn't do anything without a gang leader telling him. It was as if Brolin didn't read any of the script outside of his lines. The lines could have been delivered as if there was a power struggle between the gang leader and the Brolin's character, but it was acted as if Brolin was a whiney idiot. That kept this from being a great movie for me.
So, good story, good writing, marred by a major continuity error and a few poorly acted parts. If you don't notice that someone is completely under water then dry the next second you probably won't care.
I don't know...I don't think I'm going to see anymore Coen Brothers movies, though.
