Went to Amoeba Music in Berkeley the other day, and picked up the 4 CDs from British Sea Power (some new, some used) for $29 total. Bargain.

Was put onto this band by a friend in England when I was back there in March / April. He transferred the files for about 20 new (to me) albums from his laptop to mine, but I'm not a big fan of purely digital music from the iPod, and I still love CDs, so I've been going through them gradually, burning a CD to listen to in the car, deciding if I like it, dumping / deleting it if I don't (30 Seconds To Mars & Calvin Harris have gone that way) and seeking out & buying legitimate copies of the music I like. Some of it is hard to get here though (Delphic & The Courteeners) so I'm having my folks buy it in England for my birthday & send it over.
Going to stock up on The Editors, Arcade Fire, Interpol & Paulo Nutini too when I get chance, 'cos I don't like piracy, and I love original CD artwork & boxes, although with almost 800 CDs & counting space is becoming an issue.

Gaslight Anthem - American Slang. Great album
iTunes just had the title song as the free single of the week. I liked their Old White Lincoln, also purchased from iTunes.
John Lennon -Lennon Legend: The Very Best of John Lennon (1998)

I don't know if you are a fan, but if you are, you must check out his Anthology set. Mostly crap(IMO), but enough in there to put together a greatest hits made up of priceless recordings. Priceless.

That sounds like a terrific plan, especially the bolded part! Arcade Fire is coming out with a new album on August 2nd. I'll be right there ready to buy it, and I'm sure you will be to!

Was only $10, the packaging alone is worth that much.

I was also going to get the new Avenged Sevenfold album, but Target wanted $14 for it.

Edit: Just got done listening to Infinite Arms, great album.👍👍

Grateful Dead - American Beauty (1970)

Santana - Santana III (1971)

"American Beauty" is the first album I've bought in a long time where I haven't heard a single track from it before buying it... still, I have four Dead albums already, and they are all good in one way or another, so I thought I would trust allmusic.com's assessment that this is their best album. "Santana III" I bought last week on the strength of the track 'Jungle Strut' and I'm very impressed by the album... critics of Santana might argue that alot of their material sounds similar and that Santana's soloing is too prominent in places, and both criticisms are partially justifiable... but this album is so solid throughout, and with sufficient variety of pace (occasionally relaxed, but often blistering) that it merits a 5/5 rating from me. Highly recommended 👍

I'd describe it to be incredible! Actually, I probably wouldn't describe it at all, since nothing I'd say could possibly describe how good it is. Still not better than Funeral, though. But, will anything be better than Funeral?

I just picked up the new Linkin Park album A Thousand Suns

Jury is still out, definitely not as good as their first 2 albums but it's better than Minutes to Midnight.

I also had to buy the bonus track that I thought it came with, but didn't(Out of Goodbyes) from iTunes. :ouch:

Oh, P.S. It's pretty good. Just $10 in most stores, as it just came out today.

Bought this a few days ago:

The Smiths - The Queen is Dead

Good choice and taste:tup:, great album, they mostly made great albums though, own each one myself and a select few of Morrissey's solo efforts too ( some truly great, others mediocre at best ) although I'll admit I don't listen to them that often anymore.

I spend way too much on the iTunes store. These are my most recent purchases. I only literally just bought Fevers and Mirrors and Read Music/Speak Spanish, so I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet. Psychedelic Jungle is a great album, funny and has an interesting "punk blues" sound.

I bought three CDs on Black Friday sale:

Don't judge. They were cheap.

I didn't exactly "bought" these, but a friend send it to me several weeks ago all the way from Japan!!! Consider this the best thing I've ever gotten like... EVER!!! But yeah, haven't bought any CDs myself over these past few months but I might get something... =/

CD's expensive in Japan, though used CDs market's pretty big over there. Score!

Yeah, indeed. Price was like between 15-20US$ each if I'm not mistaken. (without shipping even!) But these cds were only available in Japan, and its considered "rare" since its a small record label. (sort of anway)

I remember it to be around $30(of course, even more in the States), but it's been awhile since I've paid retail for Japanese CD's.

Generous friend. 👍

Such an amazing album. I think it's my favorite release Oberst has ever done.
Yeah, it's a really cool album, so different to everything else he's done. Not sure I'd call it my favourite he's done, that's a pretty tough decision for me. :p

Anyway, it took me a while but I finally bought Bad Brains 2007 album, Build a Nation. I think the last time I was going to get it, I ended up getting my last three purchases in this thread instead.
