It's been a while since I've been able to check a second hand music store, but I walked away with these a few days ago.

Always like going to physical stores instead of buying online, because you walk away with things you didn't even realise you want. Other than the Judas Priest album, I don't think I'd order either of these. Which sounds like a bad thing, but with how cheap second hand CDs are right now, I really can't complain much.

A 1994 Japanese release of a Blue Note Jazz album. Mint condition complete with Obi and inserts. £4 bargain.

Picked up some CDs while buying some records today. (See the vinyl thread for pics of the records)

John Coltrane Mono boxset. This is a 2016 release so this set is secondhand. Lovely condition and it contains a few albums I don’t own.

I was also gifted a Grant Green boxset by the guy who owns the shop.

New CDs inbound from Germany.

Jóhann Jóhannsson Retrospective 1 & 2. Comprises 15 CDs & 1 DVD. If you know his score work you’ll know how good this guy is.

New CD added over Christmas. A hard to get CD too. Price is going up all the time. I managed to bag a factory sealed copy.

I bought these singles and EPs on Bandcamp from an artist who goes by the name of Senseless Optimism. She makes beautiful dreamy bedroom pop.

COVID has meant the used record store has been closed for a while, so I figured I'd check their website. Very happy with all of these, especially Kraftwerk 1 + 2 (the top left one) and Ralf & Florian as those were never officially released on CD. These are bootlegs of a vinyl recording, but well done ones. They fetch a fairly high amount of money for CDs as well. My only regret is that Kraftwerk's Radio-Aktivität and Die Mensch Maschine were sold already.
Laibach stuff is very welcome as well. Their first album is kind of hard to listen to, but I've been after it for a while. Kapital is one of my favourites, so very happy with that as well. Now if only I could track down the cassette, which has different versions of the same tracks. The Live at Tate Modern double CD was a freebie, so despite not having the original sleeve I'm happy to have it, especially since it also seems to command a high price on the used market. None for sale on discogs right now!

New music. Igor by Tyler, the Creator, and Ode to Joy by Wilco are both physical CDs bought at Easy Street Records in West Seattle.
New Self Old Ways by La Fonda (local band from Seattle), God I’m Such a Mess by Cry Club (described as a queer bubblegum punk duo (and they’re every bit as awesome as that sounds)), and Lonely Daze by Senseless Optimism, a single she released for all the single people on Valentine’s Day. The last three are digital bought from Bandcamp.

Quite a lot actually. Last year I started a CD collection and I've been building that up for a while. I have just over five dozen releases (I use "release" in a broad manner here; not just individual albums but I'm counting an 11-CD box set here as one along with several live album/concert film sets) in my collection right now with over a dozen more on the way.

Here's what I have on order right now:
Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe (Their lone studio album and their live album An Evening of Yes Music Plus; the title of the live album should tell you everything)
Caravan Palace (Self-Titled, Robot Face)
Garbage (Version 2.0 Deluxe)
Liquid Tension Experiment 1, 2, 3 (LTE 3 isn't out for a while yet though)
Transatlantic (The Absolute Universe: Forevermore, The Absolute Universe: The Ultimate Version Blu-ray, Kaleidoscope Deluxe Edition, KaLIVEoscope box set)
Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans

Two new CDs added. I love Tracy Chapman and so I thought it was about time to add her newer albums to the collection. Still a few to go.

Well just picked up 3 24bit WAV versions of albums I own on Wax but wanted the Digital. Most records come with a decent high quality WAV Download but some either don't come with a DL or have really horrid MP3 versions.

3 Andy Stott albums...

This arrived straight from Japan today. Amazing japanese heavy metal that's pretty obscure in the west.

Today is Bandcamp Friday. On the first Friday of each month, 100% of all sales go directly to the artists on Bandcamp. I bought two singles from Senseless Optimism, a woman who makes gorgeously dreamy bedroom pop.

I also bought the debut album by Slow Coda. I’ve never heard of them before, but the previews convinced me to buy it. I have not been disappointed. It’s outstanding power pop, just how I like it.

New CD/BD album added. The second album by Marillion and the latest to be released in this new format and it also completes my collection of the Fish era of records too. (I do own these on wax along with various 7” & 12” singles)

New CD from John Haycock. A duet with his mentor Jali both playing Kora.

Such a wonderful album.

Recent pickup. The complete Matrix score on SACD. Comes as a 2 channel and 5.1. The mix is a up-res affair and not a direct from hi-res file or analogue tapes etc. however it sounds superb and well worth the price of admission.

Two new CDs from China. Released by Soundtrack Magazine these are utterly wonderful neo-classical sounds from Jóhann Jóhannsson and Jonas Colstrup. Limited to 600 copies worldwide.

It’s been too long since I bought any music, but today is Bandcamp Friday when 100% of the sales go to the artists.

Three EPs and a single from Slow Coda.

Ulrich Schnauss' first collaborative release from 1996. I've never been one for buying physical, but this is an album I've been curious about that rarely shows up for sale. Very few copies found their way into the hands of the public due to a failed distribution deal shortly after release. A single track was officially available to download in 2004 but the file link is long dead.

It’s Bandcamp Friday, so I picked up a few things.
We Are Infinite by La Fonda. They’re a local Seattle band, and I love everything they’ve released so far.
Chillhop Essentials - Fall 2016. I love these lofi hip hop collections.
Chillhop beat tapes by Teddy Roxpin. Part of the Chillhop Beat Tapes collection, it’s an EP full of terrific chilled beats.
Somehow (You Still Get to Me) by Cry Club. A recent single by them, these two Australians wear their 80s glam rock hearts on their sleeves.

Once again, it’s Bandcamp Friday. On the first Friday of every month, Bandcamp sends 100% of all sales to the artists without taking their usual cut. Unfortunately, my budget was very limited, so I stuck to a couple Chillhop releases. I’m working on getting every Essentials compilation, and all the Beat Tapes. Such good music.

Today was Bandcamp Friday. It was also a really good payday thanks to working 19 days straight, including a holiday. So I went big. I bought all the Chillhop Essentials albums I didn't already have (25), and the last Beat Tapes EPs I didn't already have (6). Even with all that, it still came to only about $80.
