What To Watch For This Month As GT Sport's FIA Championship Finals Kick Off

I love these races, the Red Bull Nations Final has been the highlight so far but every race this year has been worth watching. It proves at this top level the races work, are close and exciting and make for excellent viewing. I am looking forward to this weekend in Japan and the rest of the month.

Yes, I try to Watch the F1 race on Sunday. but there was a week off, so i though I'll get my Racing Fix, and Watch the Red Bull Nations Final.
The Format, and the Short Events made for a Must Watch event..
Best E-racing event I've seen to date.
makes you want to tune in for the rest.

I’m confused on these finals. So what was the finals that just happened at Red Bull? I thought that was the manufacturer and nations final right there. Didn’t the top people from the 2018 season go to that one? Are the same exact people going to the upcoming finals for both nations and manufacturers?

Red Bull was a Exhibition event just like the Nurburgring event, the FIA Championship Events start tomorrow.

The Red Bull Hangar-7 event was the second World Tour Exhibition. The first was at the Nurburgring:

These were demonstration events with no actual bearing on the FIA Online Championships.

No. The World Tour event in Salzburg used players according to their FIA Online Championship Season 2 rankings, and players from around the world. The Asia-Oceania final uses only players from the Asia-Oceania region, and according to their FIA Online Championship Final Season rankings.

There may be some crossover between the two groups of players - you tend to see the same names at the top a lot - but it's not exclusive. For a start, there's ten players from Japan and ten players from Australia, but the World Tour only had three of each.

The event on at the moment is the Asia-Oceania Regional final. It will determine which ten players from that region go to the World Final in November to compete for the Nations Cup.

There'll be a European final in the middle of October that will do the same for players in Europe. Then an Americas final on October 31st for players in North, South and Central America.

These will all be followed by the World Final, some unannounced time in November and at a mystery location. This will have the 30 drivers above contesting the Nations Cup and the 48 players already qualified (16 from each region, the top driver for each of the 16 qualified manufacturers) for the Manufacturer Series. Again, there may be some crossover between these groups of players, but some countries' rules seem to prevent players from accepting an entry to both championships.

great post! I love knowing the little details on every finalist. I maybe just miss a bit you dont mention the teams they are into. Some of the finalists are part of some of the best Esports simracing teams in the world.
