Can't you read Magic? :)

Its still Speedvision to me.

I was trying to say, I was being unoringal in my picks of channels. :)

I have to add Speed Channel to my list, too. Only they seem to broadcast NASCAR all the time. I can only stomach it on the weekends. It's a Sunday afternoon channel for me.

Later in the week days, they show a varity of different type of racing. Late night they always seem to show rally racing. ;)

On Speed I like the Valvoline Runoffs and Speedworld Challenge the most, then WRC, then the british touring cars and DTM stuff, then the V8 Supercars races, then cart, and last, if I totally have to, NASCAR and CASCAR...

I avoid NASCAR... for resons I really don't want to post on the site, in fear of opening a can of worms I really don't want to endure.

the ACTION! channel, cause it shows Anime like every Friday - Sunday afternoon =D!but hopefully with all these rumors goin' around about this new thing called the "ANIME NETWORK" that's gonna show Anime 24/7,the States will hopefully get it ^_^!It's supposed to blow Cartoon Network right out of the water!or should I have said this better,"Cartoon Network won't stand a chance against an all-Anime channel"? by the way, that was quoted from an article I read about the Anime Network, that's why I put those quotes around the somewhat bad english sentance =P,hehe

Here Magic, I'll open it for you. :)

Why I hate NASCAR:
All for the money
Is it that hard to turn right that there's only 2 tracks that aren't ovals?
When the team says "We had the fastest car out there", doesn't that mean that they are cheating? All of the engines are the same...
Calling the cars "Ford", "Chevrolet", "Dodge", and "Pontiac" when they are all the same, just covered with a piss-poor thin shell in the shape of a coupe...last time I checked, the Ford Tarus, Dodge Intrepid, and Pontiac Grand Prix were sedans...
Inability to drive in any kind of rain. Where are the rain tires?
The many talk shows about NASCAR, all with different, but equal, stupidity, talking about how a driver's car was fast this week(again, they are all the same, if they are faster than the rest, they are cheating NASCAR) or how cute it was that a driver threw his helmet at another car after a wreck. These shows can be reduced to 1 show, 5 mins, like a commercial break, one every week. Just say who won that race, who crashed, who sucked, and what the next race is, and any possible changes in the sport(if you call it that).
And the drivers...not too diverse. Most are 18-40 years old, Americans, and they come from the same kind of backrounds(either they had a family member in NASCAR or have the tons of money to go into NASCAR). If you look at the Speedworld Challenge, there's young people, old people, everyone inbetween, and they come from all kinds of backrounds(Some have a family member in it, others are mechanics, some even run solo with no team.)

And there are other reasons like taking up 5 channels for 1 sport and stuff...

Hows that Magic? :D

None of them (TV channels I can't live without, that is). Truthfully if I didn't have a family, I'd ditch the cable service and go cable modem/DSL for internet instead of 56k. The TV would only exist for PS2 and DVD movies.

Since I do have cable though, the stations I enjoy most are of course Speed Channel, History, and SciFi.

And oh, yeah, ditto everything Mazkid said about NASCAR.

the pontiac grand prix wasn't a 4 door until 1988.

Ohh I was thinking of a different car Bill...whoops.

Glad you liked it Magic. :)

Back on subject, I also like watching "The Price is Right" cause I can guess all of the prices pretty well.

*looks at the second sentance on Neon_Duke's signature and snickers* INITIAL D! *runs away quickly before he notices him*

some teams even withdraw from a race if the track ISNT oval...
laguna seca :(

well i guess ill get into it

my friend ryan newmann didnt pay to get into nascar and niether did tony stewart.

they do run in the rain but only on raod courses where there is run off room. you dont see cart or irl running on an oval in the rain.

if you want to talk about real racing you shouldnt go talking about your F1 bullshat. ????? said,"having more passing in F1 wont make it any more exciting for the fans"

Ummm, to the best of my Knowledge, NASCAR doesn't run at Laguna Seca, and they never have.

They do run at Sears Point, which is an excellent track, though it was better in its older configuration before they changed it to accomodate NASCAR whiners. That race and Watkins Glen (two tracks I'd like to see in GT4) are the only interesting NASCAR races in the season. I wish the cars ran at Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI) like the trucks do, because it is also another interesting track.

NASCAR is 50% about pit strategy and 50% about who managed to give the fattest envelope to the stewards this weekend, which makes for boring and very artificial racing to me. I'm much more interested in driving tactics than I am in fuel economy strategy when it comes to winning (not to mention figuring out who gets to run illegal downforce this week).

Its funny how every car in NASCAR is originally a Front Wheeled Drive(monte carlo rear wheel drive?) car and then they convert them to rear wheel and drop a big V-8 in them. NASCAR blows and they need to race at Road America, 4 mile track with long straights and sharp corners, that'd be fun to watch!! That would be the only NASCAR race I'd watch if they ran at Road America.

Ohh but NASCAR gets better...

Toyota plans to run a Camry in NASCAR in like 2006 or something.

I can just see the groups of rednecks in the crowd wearing shirts saying "Japanese cars are crap"(when I went to the Plymouth plant near here, I saw several of those shirts, even though most of the machinery used to put these all American vehicles together is Japanese, and parts come from Mexico and other places...) and NASCAR forcing Toyota out because it's "un-American".

Can't wait to see it. :)

i meant sears, i get both mixed up laguna and sears which are both 2 hours away from me.
sears is now infineon raceway
