Just curious what view the "top guys" are using? I use the bumper cam 99% of the time, but switched to the roof view and the car seemed to slightly change it's character....? đź’ˇ

Thanks.

I don't think it's a change in character so much as a different perspective and sensation in nearly ever aspect. Your POV is higher and further back. The tires are louder. It's basically a completely different barrage of inputs on your senses from what you're used to, so it ends up feeling different.

I use the chase cam, it allows me to correctly aim 3 1/2 tires off the road without getting all 4 in the grass!

I catch the humor, but was hoping for the serious one.

Sorry I forgot it's super cereal around here.

Oh my bad, bumper all ze way!

Thanks man, never against the humor - my friends say I'm a jokester. Just didn't have the cereal answer in the initial(thought i may not get one). Thanks again and to those who've voted/responded !

I find it slightly odd hardly anyone uses the in car camera in a simulator, in fact, I never said that, I DON'T WANT THE WHINERS TO COME :scared:

:D

Yes he is haha. When playing casually, I enjoy the in car view for the whole immersion factor.. but if there's any sort pressure to actually go as fast as I can, it's straight for the bumpah cam!

The trouble with the cockpit view in GT5 is that it has a sort of head movement that, for me, disconnects me from the car in a sense. In a racing sim, you have to rely on visual cues rather than the seat of your pants to detect yaw, for example. In the cockpit view we have it feels unnatural in some way. I can't quite put my finger on it.

The in car cam shakes a ton, and it limits your view on vertical elements of the track quite severely IMO. The bumper cam is the closest thing you get to that view with a lot more stability in the view, plus a neutral seat position. Hate driving on the wrong side of the road :sly:

Oh right, forgot about that, because I don't notice the shaking that much.

Bumper most of the time due to the sexy hud display, I use 3rd person on the X1 oddly.

If the HUD on 3rd person was the same as the First 3 GT's I'd be using the 3rd person view more.
