What will be the first thing you do when you get GT4?

I will try to get all the licenses first, but after getting the A license I will break down and search through the huge car list for a starter car. Then I can finally start racing.

I will most likely go straight to the liscence section and get all gold- its what I did when I got gt3. Usually you win some pretty descent cars once you've done that and then you're set!

I thought i already posted this topic but it must have been in another forum.

Anywho.

1. The first thing i will do is read the whole manual and any other documents that come with the game (as i always do when i buy a game).
2. Then i will fire up the game (assuming i've managed to save up for a TV by then) and take a look around the options screen and then maybe go for a browse through Arcade Mode - then Sim Mode and so on.
3. I will then probably start working on Arcade Mode (if there is stuff to be done) and drive on the tracks and start unlocking stuff.
4. Then Simulation Mode later yadda, yadda, yadda...

But as mentioned in another topic - i'm staying away from all GT4 news sources from the end of this month, including these forums (will still be posting at other forums here at GTP though).

I plan to check out the cars I can start with, and select a car that looks, and handles, the best. Then take it for a ride in the first few races, if it's allowed again. Then, shoot for a couple licenses. But, I might go for all gold on one of the license exams for the bonus car.

be free from any duties.

1- buy me some nice drinks.
2- run the game and watch the intro.
3- preview all the cars and car makers.
4- watch some previews in sim mode.
5- race an arcade race.
6- buy a second hand European car and tune the hell out of it.
7- sunday cup ofcourse.

Sif. The word/character cull is pretty annoying at times. From the amount of people who don't use the search it can't be that inundated, I might ask Jordan about overriding certain filters.

1. Get home, open it up to see the amazing shiny-ness of the holy GT4 disk (maybe the "rare" double sided dvd disk!).
2. Read quicky the massive amounts of stuff hopefully included by PD......with love!
3. Turn on my Japanese PS2 and chuck out whatevers in the disk drive across the room...(probably Vice City) ...never to be used or seen again now that GT4 is ere...
4. Pray to god that the PAL GT4 will work on my chipped PS2.....awaiting that outcome......cry or scream .........
5. Loading, loading, loading 💡 .......Yeah!!!! (I have faith in my rather expensive chip! )
6. Be wowed by the amazing graphics of the intro , the mesmerizing Polyphony Digital logo will flash across the screen to the tune of powerful music!!!!!
7. Then just look around at the menus.....fiddle with all the modes, look at the cars (what merc's are in first!)....and in general just speand probably hours before going into my first race.
8. The GT4 disk will find itself a home in the darkness of the PS2 disk drive never to be ejected and see the light of day for a good 4 years......
9. As for me......like the disk, I will be trapped forever in doors in front of the TV.....my hands moulded to the DS2 forever.......

I will starting rubbing hands before I unwarp the silk plastic. Then take a deep breath, hoping I don't drop it or anything, put it into my trusty PS2 and fire away.

and go straight for the NUR.
Then after 1 lap (which will take me an hour) I will look around and see what I can do in GT4.

2.Go to sim mode and see if that magical manufacturer starting with "F" is there (somehow I don't think so but you never know)
3.License Tests.
4.Win enough races to buy my P510.
5.Tune it to the max.
6.Time trial it round the Nurb.
7.Explore the massive depth.
8.Play for 24hrs non-stop.

I will do this too. But first I will sit in the dark reading the manual and looking at the pictures on the back of the dvd case. Fire up the PS2 with my brand new copy of gt4 sitting in the disk tray. I will watch the intro movie, Go into sim mode and look through and read about EVERY single car that you can look at in the Car Shop. After hours of looking at the pretty cars I will go into arcade mode and start completing that. Then after I finally fall unconsious due to hours of playing I will wake up, and realise I've missed 3 weeks of school.

Pass a few licences, then head to the used or classic showrooms, cash in hand, so i can choose something decent instead of a 'new beetle' or a bloody 'PT Cruiser' - i want to race, not drop the kids of at school.

My GT4 Party plan:
Buy a few crates of Duvel (8.5% Dutch beer), set-up my TV and PS2 with some of my mates' TV and PS2 combos in his house, and start some drink-driving. The winner of each race gets a bottle. As the night goes on, each player will slowly lose control and lap-times rocket, but you're all determined to win to claim another bottle. Then everyone will fall asleep, except me, because I can't sleep after beer. By the time they wake up I'll probably have some of the licences and have completed amateur level.

2) Get to the store right when it opens to pick up my copy
3) Try not to get a speeding ticket on the way home
4) Unwrap, take a deep breath, insert into PS2
5) Watch the intro and marvel at it's glory
6) Jump into the license tests, not only to learn the new physics but also the newly acquired DFP and 900 steering (no prologue for us)
7) Gold at least the B and A licenses.
8) Smoke the time trials
9) Play around with photo mode/various other new features
10) Start sim mode and drop out of life for a while

I have already placed a pre-order at EBgames, even then i urinated myself and their manager pointed me to the door where i then found a fellow self-soiled glassy eyed gamer. but when i actually get the game, ill send a mass email to my teachers and friends stating i have been sent to a correctional school in MA and can no longer be contacted to avoid phone calls or home visits. i then will confine myself in my bedroom where i have stapled thick blankets over my windows and blinds, for if you cant see the sun youll never need rest. also occupied by a mini fridge containing a surplus of gatorade, hostess cakes, and re-heatable quesadillas from taco bell...those are great. open the game case, inhail the molasses-like aroma of the compact disc, then spoil myself to masterpiece that is GT4. sample the beginning movie over and over, await anxiously at the main menu for track replays to commense as they do when buttons havent been pressed, combing through the car manufacturers as if i was a 7/11 owner suspecting a young punk of stealing chips and snickers from aisle 3, while making mental note of which machines ill test drive first. a season or so after enduring this ill emerge from my GT den that was once known as a bedroom to take a breath of fresh air, and waddle my now obese self to the mail box. finding it over-flowed with useless coupons and apparent missing subscribed auto magazine issues i wander back into the bedroom to then complete the next set of license tests..

We'll have this forum well regulated by the time it is released, and yes, I expect my report to moderator button to light up like a christmas tree.

I suspect that the traffic on this site will reach astronomical levels until the day it is released - on that day, the traffic will slowly die off as the sun marches across the globe, anouncing a new day to cities in the east, and progressively later in the west. As businesses open their doors, computers will be left idle as everyone scurries to the store. By the end of the day, the sound of crickets will be the only thing filling the halls of GTPLANET, as everyone had DAMN WELL be playing the game, rather then wasting their time here.

After the first few hours, a few questions will pop up, and the obligitory "OMG OMG OMG IT RULES!!!11" posts.

honestly, I think I will skip the board for a while until I give the On-line racing a try. With so many different cars, and different modes to begin playing the game, coming here to read about everyone's experience could make one feel frustrated that they can't experience the whole game at once.
