<shrug> I s'pose this is a waste of a post, but I have never timed any of my vehicles on any of these things.

You managed 220 mph out of a Evo? Wow - kudos to you - I wouldn't have though it would be a reachable goal for the Evo.

Perhaps I've been too hard on the Evo's in the past. But, I'm bitter and angry with most 4wd cars.

with my evo i put all the upgrades so i could and to reach the 220+, i also widened the gears, 4wd cars are my favorite in gt2 and gt3 because i think they have the best handeling.

Ugh - I always struggle with the handling, on virtually any 4wd or FF. That lousy understeer always does me in.

The only FF I had that I enjoyed driving around was the Mini in GT2. The only 4wd I like in GT3 is the ZZII or my TT (that has only 10% going to the front).

all i ever drive is awd cars i cant play without having one, i cant stand rwd because i always spin out. what cars do you have?

Hmmm, I like all three drive layouts. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages.

Usually, all it takes to dial out the FWD/4WD understeer is to stiffen up the rear suspension and keep the front kind of soft, and a little lower than the rear. I made a post on the Tuning board about how to set up a 4WD car.

Both my Evo VI and my ZZII have pretty neutral handling.

The real thing you must get used to is braking. FWD/4WD cars like to brake hard in a straight line before the corner, with little or no trail braking. RWD cars like to brake and turn in at the same time.

one good thing about 4wd also is the aceleration because there is almost no tire spin at all. when i take turns i brake before i get to it and then stomp on the gas as i am turning and s turns are easy with a 4wd because you can go fast and not have to worry about spinning out

Ya, it just takes practice with the RWD's to keep 'em under control. If you use the DS2 (controller) try switching your accelerator/brake to the right stick. (easy for me to say, I can't get used to doing it that way) Or, learn to modulate the pressure on the buttons. The easiest way I've found to do this is to rest the joint of your thumb right under the X button, and then just lean it forward over the button. If you are just "thumb down" on the button, it's too hard to adjust the pressure. If you pivot over it, it works quite well.

Practice, practice, practice. hehehe. The best method of practice I've found is before the start of any race, just pick an RPM you want to hold the car at and adjust your pressure so that you do it. Sure, it takes some fartin' around to get it right, but it works.

My biggest problem is, I play the game only with friends now and as long as I'm in the lead, I drive cool - as soon as I get behing, Ugh - I become a complete putz and lose it on every corner.
