Clutch? We don't need no stinking clutches!:grumpy:
I drive AT 100% of the time so I do not use a clutch.
AT get's owned by MT (paddles or DS3), you know that don't you?

I use the clutch on cars which have them in real life. But during hotlaps, I always use it no matter which car :dopey:

I always use clutch (on cars which have it)

but there is a small thing is annoying me , when you put a transmission for the gtr r35 you can use the clutch the car is automatic , wierd

Why ? more realistic driving

i like to enjoy driving more than wining , wining is also fun i win sometimes of course .

and i want to ask those who complaining for clutch button for sixaxis/dualshock 3 , why ?
seriously why ? if you want more realistic and fun get some money and buy a steering wheel .

I only use them in cruise or just wheni feel like it but in race or time attack i use paddle shift or the rally type of shift(forgot what it is called) as i will definately misshift at some point

when I play in the offline mod yes I do,in the online mode i don't!

Thats the same boat i am in. The main reason being, i am not really fast at using it, so it slows me down. Not too mention that sometimes, i won't be able to get it into gear.

But otherwise i just adore using it.

I always use it, if the car has it irl.

I use the clutch all the time. Adds more realism to the game. You have me confused tho. First you say you use it so you won't lose no time, and now you say using a clutch isn't faster. Why use it then if thats your way of thinking? I personally have no clue if it makes you faster or not, as I only use it for realism. But your two statements are contradictory.

I never said that. I only said I use clutch because it adds more realism, not that it's faster.
Clutch is and always will be slower than paddles, but the realism added is worthy much more than a few seconds. 👍

Yeah, because it's as simple as that isn't it? :dunce:

Once I 'get some money' to buy a decent wheel set-up, I'd like to use the clutch as much as possible.

Yes , having a clutch for sixaxis/dualshock 3 its like having a clutch paddle for automatic car its makes no sense .

I'm sure someone would make use of it; but there's already a thread discussing it. 💡

Love my clutch, makes the game way more involved for me. It can be annoying hitting the false neutrals but overall is much more satisfying when you get it right. There is nothing like approaching a tricky corner with one hand on the wheel trying to keep the car in line while trying to bash down through the gears and get the most from engine braking. There really is so much more to think about when using it :)

Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I use the H-Pattern for shifting with out the clutch. Depends on how Im feeling or how competitive a race I enter. If Im too under powered in comparison to other drivers, i will use the flappy paddles for better concentration.
Im used to driving manual transmission since I drive one everyday, but it feels too different in video games and it slows me down.
But when i run time trials I pretty much always use the paddles, becuase I can focus on my line and get more consistent shifts.

I don't use the clutch with my G27. I drive manual IRL, but there is something that doesn't click when doing it in GT5. I plan to start doing it next week though when I get my T500 and TH8RS. That shifter is too good to not use.

Your second post, you said that you use it so you don't lose any time as you can't afford to be any slower, which is implying that you think its faster using the clutch. Then someone else asks you if its faster and you said no. Quite obvious to me that you did say that.

For that matter I was reffering to online.

I usually use my clutch. My car is stick so its just natural to do it when I'm sitting there. I will jump to the paddles if I am really struggling to keep up, but thats just so i don't have to take a hand off the wheel. I can say I don't use the shifter without the clutch just because I automatically move my foot when shifting.

I also tried putting my shifter on the left side of the wheel, but was horribly slower from missing shifts.

I use it in GT5 when driving a six or five speed manual car, but if it gets stupid i just switch to the paddles... On iRacing I'm forced to use it by my settings.

I would use it on cars that had them IRL but my feet are too big. I did adjust the pedals (G27) but I still can't seem to left foot brake without also hitting the clutch. I probably need to give up left foot braking to use the clutch.

G27. Always use it unless racing competitively offline. Or, like others have said, if it's too unrealistic for the car. Never use the shifter without the clutch.

I use the automatic transmission when driving casually and sometimes online, but when I use the manual transmission, I do what makes sense to me.

'What makes sense to me' usually means the clutch and H-shifter, unless the car goes through gears insanely quickly or the car doesn't have an H-shifter in real life.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention that I use a G27.

I got a g27 and the clutch is useless. Its so slow and unreliable. I drive paddles all day. So much faster.

I not like the clutch due to slow and make lose speed if you shift with it.

I'm still getting acclimated to simply using my wheel so using the clutch will come when I feel I'm ready for it.
