When is the next DLC coming?

I don't care what DLC Forza gets either, I just like it if PD could maintain some DLC for GT5 until it's ready to be put to rest. I can imagine all the DLC being in GT6 at this very moment, but would gladly see some new cars and especially tracks to keep everyone relaxed, even me... :\

Btw, I too dislike GT vs FM, it's stupid imo...

2) And why must every conversation turn into Forza vs. GT bickering nonsense?

:ouch:

Is there anything wrong with comparing the two games? You have a thread about GT5's DLC. I would imagine people bringing up Forza's DLC inevitable.

I dont want DLC. I want more wheels more bodykits more RMs and more tuning.I f they add that il be straight til GT6 .... Then again I said the same about rims for standards :p
I for one dont want to pay for cars that will be free in the next game next year.
Unless they give some % off the next game.

^ Oh yeah I forgot about that. That's one thing that I don't like about DLC. Seeing all the cars that were paid as DLC, than seeing them in the next game... Boy I'm glad GT isn't LIKE that. I just hope in the next game PD will start doing DLC more often by then.

Can't they just make upgradation of the cars that are standard and add new themes in course maker in via DLC?

Dlc is a bad idea I think they should keep polishing the game up and making it better instead of adding cars to patch that big hole make more standard cars premium add more settings to make Gameplay better adding a v12 vantage isn't making the game better they should focus on gameplay and making standard cars look better because honestly most of the best cars are standard that woukd make gt5 perfect do large improvements with updates not Dlc @PD

I really rather have new tracks added to GT5, well not new tracks but tracks from GT4.

Yea maybe standards to premium would be DLC but everything else would more than likely in a update.

My two cents (or four or six or more I guess):

1. The recent update that weighed in at almost 500MB, I can't help thinking that there must be more to it than some relatively minor tweaks, the reskinned GTA cars and one new track (Motegi). Keep in mind that the original game disc has about 8GB on it or something (someone here must have the exact figure) and that includes hundreds of cars and dozens of tracks.

2. Personally I think GT6 will be on the PS3, as PD started work on it some time ago and I think it's too early days for them to have a PS4 dev kit already, unless they intend to "switch" to the new platform, but that could bring up a host of issues. I also think GT6 will be with us sooner rather than later, some time next year. Think of the previous evolution from GT1 to GT2, and GT3 to GT4. Fact is, a ton of the work has already been done in the form of GT5, and the focus will be more on tweaks, some enhancements and a lot of different or new content. The only slight worry I have is that PD possibly aren't big enough to develop new car models for GT5 and GT6 in tandem.

3. Regarding the comments about Turn 10 reading these forums, I thought this had already been confirmed, that at least one of the team had said as much? Perhaps I am dreaming here though. Kinda funny, as i've never really got the impression PD look at GTP.

4. The GT vs. Forza argument...thankfully I don't think this thread has descended into the usual bickering about which is best, when ultimately who gives a ___, they are both great games. I love GT5 but I am getting an Xbox and Forza in a few weeks time. And for me personally, i'm an exotic car junkie and even just the original car line up in Forza4 would be enough to sway me. The various DLC are just the icing :)

GT can't be like anything, considering that they've only put out one game with DLC. Carrying DLC over into another one sort of requires a second title.

At the moment we're getting no DLC at all. I'd rather have some DLC and be able to worry about whether they're going to double charge me on release of the next game, than no DLC at all...

In game series like this i've always looked at DLC as a premium for those who want cars now. At least with new cars that weren't available when the game was released anyway, for example the Pagani Huayra. T10 couldn't include it on the F4 disc because of exclusive licensing, then when that license was up they offered it as DLC. If you wanted the car ASAP you buy the DLC at a premium, if not you wait for it to be included in the next game.

Nobody is forcing you to buy the DLC but it's there if you want it.

This is true and agree what you've wrote. I just find it annoying that PD would just go ahead and not make DLC. I'll like to purchase some DLC if there were more made, such as a bunch of cars and at least one or two tracks released. I still to this day find it stupid that PD would just literally stop making DLC for who knows what reason...

I find it more stupid that PD dont tell us what the hell is going on.

DLC or not, it can't be that hard, surely !!

Whatever happened to the Alfa Romeo MiTo that was spotted having it's interior prepped at the PD open day thingy?

It would be nice to think that there will be DLC in July, to give us Twin Ring Motegi, unless that will just be a teaser in GT-A for what to expect in GT6?

PD have said that they have a backlog of DLC-able stuff to give us, maybe they changed their minds, and want to keep it for GT6 all together?

And to add insult to injury, Turn10 even added the RUF yellowbird into thier June DLC pack...right after the massive Porsche onslaught! They know how to rub it in.

No doubt they do, buddy at work has bragging rights...ugh. I tell him,"Can brag about the models, materials and textures, but you can't brag about the physics." (friend walks away with troll face)

Guess it's just one of the cars they've build and we'll either see it as DLC or in GT6.
They are continuously modelling cars obviously but when and how we'll see them arrive is another matter.
It certainly is odd the stream of DLC has come to a sudden hold, maybe GT-Academy is playing a larger part than I imagined it to be.
Like mentioned by Tyger, the relatively huge size of the recent update does seem to suggest there's more to come.

Like always PD has an, politely put, enigmatic approach to things and some spokesperson mentioning recently there were 'pools of content' they could release is at odds with nothing being added for a considerable amount of time now.
There's me hoping against better knowledge the next DLC will be something big or significant (a certain Stuttgart based manufacturer for example) but maybe it's simply due to a combination of factors (GT-Academy, the recent move to another location or a forced change of strategy for whatever reason) that it suddenly stopped.

Even though clearly communicating what's going on will be more helpful for both us and PD themselves, we all know by now that PD is an oyster shell that hardly opens if at all.

I think PD are done with GT5 and are concentrating on the next game.
At this stage I think they would be crazy to be making GT6 on the current console.

Exactly.

Make It in a console nobody owns.

That's like going to Corvette right now and demanding minute by minute updated information progress on the next generation Corvette C7.

That will work, surely!

No, all PD needs to say is that there won't be anymore DLC or they're focusing on GT6 now. Simple.

Ah, the old argument to absurdity. They can't possibly update us every minute, so they shouldn't update us at all.

Bollocks.

Telling their customer base what's going on more than once every six months couldn't possibly hurt them. In fact, looking at pCARS and their entire forum of developer dialog with their customer base it seems like PD is completely off track (ha!) with this one.

i honestly would prefer no more DLC, and have all focus put forward on GT6 and a well updated car list
honestly, its just sort of sad, having a huge selection of OLD cars, 10 years or older, that you have to hope to have a chance to buy.....and even then, they are "used"
:(
not complaining, just saying, it needs a change
i only race premium anyway

Lets use some logic here. Ive stayed out of the "next dlc release" -conversation, but there is some logical hints around.

1. We know, for a fact i guess, that there will be the twin ring motegi premiere in GT Academy next week.

2. We know, for a fact i guess, that there will be reward cars for GT academy to be downloaded / unlocked either next week or a fort night later when academy ends.

3. We know, for a fact i guess, that many of GT5 players in the countrys not participating in GT Academy CANT have the Motegi as reward so it has to be eighter DLC or an update for them.

What we do not know is if PD has any OTHER cars than the Academy specials available - if they do the time they release Motegi as DLC would be the time..

Makes sense? 💡

It does make sense.

Unfortunately, PD is not known to use the same logic as the rest of the universe.

My wish is for the talented veterans, fanatics, and contributors to this site and it's subforums, to get off their high horses, get together, and create a game studio, with lots of our collective monies, (aka kickstarter) project to create:

A dedicated piece of Hardware machine and a good car simulator, for all of us to enjoy, and have input to update as we need.

We don't need dealership licenses if they are snobby *cough, porsche*, we could go ahead and create all our own cars.

I would love more timely released DLC and concrete additions, namely premium cars, and sounds, and all that Kaz has been doing so far, but I think his plate is full, behind the reigns at Sony.

we, myself included, need to stop being sheep, and go get together and make our own game. imagine the money we can raise, to pay the talented programmers and artists, and engineers, we're all now connected with instant communication, none of us even have to leave home!

it can be done, it's a dream, for now.

I still love PD. He'd done his dream afterall.

edit, if none of this above is to happen, then we get what we get. and wait. I have a feeling that asking as a thread: 'when is the next DLC coming ?' , is about as useless of a thread title, as teets on a Bull.

When PD is quiet like it is now...is just because they are working for something huge. Could be more content with a last update for GT5 ("Spec 3.0") or just working for a GT6 demo at TGS 2012.
Who knows.
