I can't believe this thread is still going strong lol. Anyways I have the DFP and the G25 and to be honest with you I have been using my DFP more than my G25. I think that the shifter for the G25 feels very cheap and unrealistic and the force feedback isn't near as good as the DFP. I do like the pedals a lot for the G25 but other than that I like my DFP more....

Well, call me a fanboy if you must, but I just got new info from Fanatec on their upcoming Xbox 360 compatible wheel built to the level of the current 911 Turbo wheel, and the first true high-caliber wheel available for the 360 (which does not unfortunately support the G25.) I do not work for Fanatec or am affiliated with them in any way other than that I was a beta tester for the original wheel and now use the production version nightly on my PS3.

Anyway, I thought some people planning for a new wheel might appreciate this. I didn't think it was possible they'd make a single wheel that could support the PC, PS3 AND Xbox 360 (I was even told it wasn't possible in a production model in the past.)

So I knew they had a 360 wheel in the works and planned to pick it up if if the pricing was right, but was FLOORED when I saw this earlier today.

The highlights for me on initial glance:
-that it also supports the PS3 and PC from that one wheel, and there is an option to buy it without pedals (and even use G25 pedals), buy it with stock pedals (w/ clutch) similar to the existing 911 Turbo ones I use,
-or, for $150 more, get it with fully adjustable metal pedals with clutch, LOAD CELL brake, and force feedback motors for the brake and clutch pedal?!
Are you kidding me? I can't wait to check it out. I had already ordered another wheel mounting plate and "downpipe" for my cockpit to quick switch between a PC/PS3 wheel and a 360 wheel; now one set can do all three I believe if I'm reading this correctly.

Here is the info on the website. I have an email into them to make sure this is okay to post but I believe it should be. Apologies if not and I'll edit as needed, but I was so floored I wanted to share the info.
Here are all the infos you wanted to hear about the new Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel.

First of all. This wheel is a LIMITED EDITION and we are not planning to make any other wheel of this quality level for the Xbox soon. So you will get something truly exclusive each with a number plate and serial number.

The production is schedules to start in march 2009.

There will be 3 different editions to satisfy all tastes and to reach are broad audience.

The most affordable will be the "Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel Pure Edition". It starts at 149,95 USD / EUR (regular 199,95USD EUR).

Got my G25 yesterday after my GTforce started playing up again. After several repair jobs it was getting too hard to fix. The G25 is great though. The pedals alone are just incomparible to those of the GTforce.

Ok I guess people took my comment earlier on a bit too seriously it was just a little joke I have with a friend of mine thats all. I dont have any issue with the porsche wheel and im sure its just as good if not better than the G25 however its rather limited in what you can do with the porsche wheel. In the sence that the G25 can be customized to a massive level you only have to look in the cockpits section of this forum to see the possabilities of what you can do with the G25.

That is deceptive wording on their part. It is just a simple rumble pack NOT FFB! I can't see supporting the Fanatec, as they have had compatibility/support issues with GT5P as a previous update showed (stopped working) and it took quite a few days to get a solution...what happens when they don't want to support PS3 anymore or only PC & M$? Logitech is the safest bet & at a savings to boot (G25/GFGT).

I'm using the Driving Force GT. I'm very happy with the wheel, it's so much better than my troublesome Driving Force Pro. The real-time adjustment buttons come in handy, they make adjusting settings while driving so much easier than before.

I use the DFGT and I love it. It's my first wheel, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it does a lot better in control than the controller. I also like the fact that if you're going 180 and turn the wheel all the way, the ingame wheel turns all the way as well, unlike the controller, which limits the turning angle based on the speed you're travelling.

Was using DF GT, very good wheel, loved having the extras at the touch of a button mid race, now with G25, no clutch though as i need the extra bit to connect the h shifter to, so making do with paddle and just getting the feel of the wheel

When torturing myself getting through the classes the S class was the one I couldn't finish. So in ultimate anger about that I searched the net for a affordable wheel and found the G25. Bought it, received it and finally got through the S class.
Only thing I dislike is that the G25 has no full support in GT5P ie, I can't set it up the way I would like.

I use a 6 years old Driving Force, with hundreds of hours and millions of kms/miles in GT3, GTConcept, GT4 Prologue, GT4, Enthusia, GT5 Prologue and Ferrari Challenge.

I've seen the DFP come and go (envying those who possessed it) and learned about all its problems. In my case, however, the first time I had to do some maintenance was about a month ago, to solve a "slight unwanted braking" issue. And it was solved, no big deal.

Until it breaks ... I'll be using it. When it breaks ... I'll probably buy the wheel that is more close to it, the cheap, but effective, Driving Force EX.

Still envying all of you G25 owners, of course :)

It means the wheel is not supported. I have a logitech games controler for pc and it works in the menus and only the start button works when racing.

Your wheel isn't supported by the game's software. No way to fix it.

Does anyone know if I can get the Williams F1 wheel for PS2 to work on it? I see people are using DFPs, so what do I do with the connector that went in the controller slot on the PS2?

Edit: Don't worry, I found out the answer.

Im using the DFP but as soon as Im moving to somewhere bigger with a real living room, I'll buy a G25 and build me a nice pod :)

Hi s15specr

Your problem is the same??

What´s your wheel model?

Do u have GT5P?

Thkz!

Am talking about a standard USB control, like this:

Hi Sureshot,

on the box said:

"compatible ps3/ps2/pc"

User´s manual said:

PLAYSTATION® 3

INSTALLATION ON PLAYSTATION® 3

1. Set the wheel’s USB selector (7) to the “PS3” position.
2. Connect the USB connector (13) to a USB port on your console.
3. Turn on your console.
4. Launch the game.

You are now ready to play!

USING THE “HOME” BUTTON (6)
Your wheel’s “Home” button allows you to exit games and access your PlayStation®3 system’s menus.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON PLAYSTATION® 3

- The wheel’s USB selector (7) must always be set to the “PS3” position before connecting your wheel.

- In “1 Player” mode: If your official gamepad is turned on, you will have to switch it to “controller port 2” in
order for your wheel to be functional.

- On PlayStation® 3, the wheel is only compatible with PlayStation® 3 games (and will not function with
PlayStation® 2 games).

- In certain racing games, do not hesitate to test out your wheel’s 2 sensitivity modes in order to optimize its
precision and responsiveness.

Hi s15specr,

I saw...

your game controler doesn´t work in ps3??

I dont believe. Logitech rox!

Yeah it works with the XMB and gt5p menu but not the racing. The control looks like a ps3 control and all the buttons function in the right place( 2= X 3= circle).

Hi s15specr,

hmm...

but what do you mean, "XMB"? playstation 3 home menu (main display? video, audio, settings, game, profile, network...)

My girlfriend has a wheel "LeaderShip wireless 6726 for PC/PS2/PS3". I tried it in my ps3 - GT5P and worked very well!!! I didn´t understand...
