White Water Rafting?

I've gone quite a few times, but graduated on to Kayaks about 6 years ago. I own a pair that I take out as many times a year as I can. It's great fun and I recommend it to everyone (that can swim if anything bad happens.)

I've gone rafting with a group once, one guy kept falling out of the boat on purpose. It was pretty boring, I've kayaked quite a bit though -- bumped my head on a rock once as I flipped under water.

no, never gone whitewater-rafting. one of these days I would like to go kayaking in the rapids... (always seemed like fun to me)

I got strong islander blood... I've gone open ocean kayaking a lot... white water is quite a thrill as well, but on the open ocean when swells and storms blow in is the ultimate thrill...

Never been. But I sure would like to. I've done more kayaking and canoeing. In Hawaii I kayaked up a river to a waterfall. One of the funnest things I've ever done. I'd really like to do some kayaking on the Pacific Northwest coast. Could you imagine whale watching in a kayak?

Also in Hawaii I went on a boat tour. It was a medium sized boat with about ten other tourists. We went about six miles west of Kauai to a very small island and snorkeled. On the way back the waves were like walls around the boat, at least twenty feet. I was one of the only people who didn't blow chunks  But it was crazy to look striaght out and just see a wall of water way over your head.

It's much more intense having a swell that size come up under you and drop you back into the ocean... I've gone kayaking off samoa, and off hawaii, both times very much intense... Kayaking in the Pacific Northwest was great man... so tranquil... islands of trees sprouting from the water (in WA State)... very nice experience

heh, last year me and my gramps paddle 75 miles in 3,1/2 days with a 40mph head wind the WHOLE TIME! that was really fun and exausting. wind made waves so big they were breaking over the front of the conoe(sp?).

i've done so many miles in a conoe in the past 3 years it is not funny.

i also done a little bit of kayaking on a lake. motorboating is also fun, i like to gun it full throttle then do a "powerslide" and get everone in the back of the boat wet.

My dad and I both have kayaks, we hit up the rivers around the house sometimes, and always take them down to the ocean when we go. Kayaking is a ton of fun if you're doing it in semi-rough water, I have no fun doing it on calm water anymore, though. I guess I'm just that damn extreme.
