Pretty much McLaren as a whole, but Lewis needs the support after the past 12 months of bad vibes he's had.

My Bottom-Half pick would be Paul Di Resta.

Petrov's out, but fortunately Senna having a good seat has given me a reason to invest my time staying up beyond midnight, I know he's not as bad as people say and I'd never doubted his potential, just like with Petrov. Also hoping to see Perez continue to do well/improve, in particular.
It's kinda nice that there's a bunch of new names on the grid for 2012.

I want to mention who I'd like to see fight for the championship, I do have 3 favourites up the front, but it's hard to put into words since I might aswell say 'anyone but vettel' and then cover some other front runners who I don't care about, which I don't want to do.

Overall, It'd be nice to see another team break into the top 3 group of teams, but in order to do that they'll have to push another team out, but that's hard to visualize, but who knows, we might even see a top 4/5 teams situation, the top 3 can't stay this way forever.

It's Massa's turn. When Glock let Hamilton through I fell back into my seat realizing Massa wasn't getting the title. It was such a shame when all the emotions that makes f1 so spectacular were destroyed in Ferrari's garage.

I had exactly the opposite feeling.. I saw Massa cross the line and I felt none too good. Moments later, as Hamilton went past Glock, i stood up and screamed and yelled as loud as possible. It was kinda a big deal.

I think it has something to do with platypusism. I, for instance, was a neutral spectator, up untill Platypusism.
Yeah, I think a lot of people are going to be supporting Woking. And possibly Marussia; I've heard that they couldn't get the stepped nose to work.

Woking.. Woking.. Never heard of that before. But google informed me.

Im cheering for Button for the simple fact that he seems to be the most fair/good sportsman & least presumptuous in the hole bunch and Im also cheering for williams third driver to replace Maldonado (dont know why but even though I dont have anything against him I just cant stand the man).

My unconscious voted Hamilton. Yet to figure out why, but I did.

Forced to pick one, so I picked Kobayashi.

But really I cheer for:
Button
Kobayashi
De La Rosa
Senna

De La Rosa fills in for Barrichello now he's gone. Though Pedro is more like a modern-Martin Brundle (jumping from temporary drive to temporary drive, never really getting much chance to show much ability beyond being reliable).

I've supported Button all his (f1) career.

Same for Kobayashi.

Senna for the same reasons I like to cheer Damon Hill and now Josh Hill. Its satisfying to see a driver prove the "there just because of his name" critics wrong and deal with such incredible pressure. While Bruno has yet to do that, I cheer for him to actually do it. And on top of that he's a nice guy (along with Pedro and Jenson). Where some people see a privledged driver who easily gets sponsors beacuse of a name, I see a driver having to constantly put up with the additional spotlight and constant criticism. Everything is amplified - he gets double the interest when he succeeds and double the criticism when he fails. Look beyond the name and there is a decent driver with a spark of speed and a whole load of unfair criticism levelled at him caused by over-enthusiastic Ayrton fans bigging him up.
I think the thing that attracts me to Bruno is his attitude - he seems to be very self-critical and its something I relate to very much.

I was starting to become an Alguesuari fan but as usual with STR drivers it never really got going. Same for Petrov actually, he showed some genuine improvement last season.

At the front, I'll be cheering for Alonso and Massa to redeem Ferrari; in the midfield I'll be cheering for Force India to stay solvent and move up yet again in the Constructor's duel, and last but not least I'll be cheering the first of the "new" teams to score a point.

Respectfully submitted,
Steve

Well, here's my list of who I support and in what order.

Massa, nearly cried for him when Hamilton took it from him those years ago.
Button, I just like seeing him do well.
Webber, same as above.
Di Resta, because he's young and talented.
Schumacher, I'd love to see him win another title before he bows out. But I don't see that happening unfortunately.

I have voted for Massa.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Raïkkonin. Because I just like his personality, doesn't let anything get to him.

I voted for Vettel. However, there are a number of drivers up and down the grid who I like and would like to see well. Such as Kobayashi, Schumacher, Rosberg, Webber, Button, Di Resta, Massa, Alonso and Kovalainen.

Will be interesting to see how things go for Vergne, Ricciardo, Senna, Maldonado, Grosjean and Raikkonen.

I hope Hamilton has an equally appalling season though.

Agreed. 👍

Why? I for one hope he gets himself back up to his normal form, and makes the fight for the championship a memorable one. Why would you wish misfortune upon a driver?

Because I don't like him, his ego, or his ever expanding team of management. He is a fantastic driver and I wish no real harm to him. But I just plain don't like him as a person. I had hoped that his long lists of incidents last year would deflate his ego a little, and thought it actually worked until he said that he hoped Ayrton was watching over him and was proud of him...

I also hate the way that whenever he's involved in any incident, he immediately complains over the radio, whether it was his fault or not. I think that Jenson is starting to win back a lot of the support that he lost when Hamilton made his great debut. Personally, I think Jenson is a genuinely nice guy and although I don't support him, I can be happy when he wins.

II just don't like him either, mainly because of his statement on racism. (Which he later apologised for.)

And I don't really think he can be called 'The first black F1 driver', cause Suarez got fined and banned for 8 weeks from football for being racist to Evra, and I think Hamilton and Suarez have the same complexion. There ethnic background may differ but that's a different matter. And that's why I don't like his joke about the stewards decisions, "Is it 'cause I'm black? Haha!"

And his ego's too big, mainly why I like Button and Massa, they just do there thing and don't make a big deal about it.

Sorry to bring race into this, and I don't mean any offence to anybody from any part of this post.

Even if you don't like the guy, wouldn't more drivers on front running teams lead to a better championship battle? I feel the same way as you do only with Alonso but I hope he is in top form along with his Ferrari so the title battle will be interesting.

Mark Webber but if he can't win then McLaren because it's a nice looking car

Never really have chosen a F1 driver, but I'm pulling for Button this year. I just like the guy. Not to mention he's a pretty good driver and can make tires last a ridiculous amount of laps.

I cheered for Button last year and this year I'm going for the same. Not because of he's driving a possibly the most beautiful car but it's just the guy himself. ;)

Can I ask just one question, I'm curious about something since some of you seems to like Felipe Massa, what do you like in him ? I can understand for alonso/hamilton/vettel/button/schumacher/rosberg/raikkonen even if among them there's driver I really dont like but for Massa I just dont see it. Anyone mind answering to me ?

This is not an attack nor anything I just dont know any Massa fan around me and want to understand.

Massa? Well, I didn't mention him myself, but if memory doesn't fail me Massa put both Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen in check when everyone would assume he was just going to be their second driver. I will repeat: Schumacher. Raikkonen.

Massa also fought with the "hailed by many as the greatest" Hamilton for a WDC up to the last corner of the last Grand Prix, in a year that Ferrari did their best to 🤬-up their own chances (see Singapore; see Hungary).

After the accident, and after getting Alonso as teammate (the only one so far that clearly bettered Massa), his star seems to have faded somewhat. This year he has probably his last chance to prove himself as an ace driver.

Oh and he is a likable chap, although some people might see that as a problem. I don't and that's why I also like Button.
