Who else prefers gt5p menus

i prefer the GT5P menu, it's much nicer than what we have now in GT5.
as for the race entry, GT5P is way better than GT5 too. I mean, when we start a race in GT5P, we'll be in the pit garage, with all the crews and team manager(s). and the best part of it: those roaring engine sounds, the sounds of the air-compressed tools, and when any car pass-by the pit exit, we get that nice engine noise too!

I was impressed by the quick response of the loading times.
I mean, last week i found myself playing GT4 with some family friends and I was shocked by the instant loading of the track (Nurbungrind in that particulary case).

Also the graphics, it has something... beautiful, or is it just nostalgia?
Anyway, by the menues, yes, GT5P has some really good style, and it goes better with the music sometimes I think.

A big hug.

Eager Snake.

I'm not planning on a long and detailed post, so let me make this quick. The one thing I most appreciate about GT5's menu system is the same thing I appreciate from the GT3 menu- one specific Tune Shop rather than try to equip parts from another shop. Just about everything is right there. Maybe one thing I wished would change is better support for non-HD TV units. Thankfully, you can zoom in to see what seems too tiny to read. But after a while, it does get a bit old.

I didn't know people still used Non-HD TV's?

If there is anything that is obvious, and absurd it's the fact that so many cool ambient features found in GT5:P were not even brought over to GT5.

Are you serious? What a joke.

It's like: no PD, what are you really thinking? At least USE some of the stuff that has already been made!

PD is absolutely baffling, the lack of feedback and support is not only disappointing as it is confusing, but not to mention frustrating.

Coudln't agree more. I've always said that GT5p menu screen is incredibly sexy, with the screensaver on the back, the analog clock, the menu bar and everything else.

GT life menu just sucks. Sorry Kaz.

p.s. talking about menus...where the f are the A/B/C tuning saves?

Yeah GT5P main menu was slick. I couldn't believe it when I first saw GT5 and how bad it was comparatively.

At least GT5P didn't have to load anything but photo locations on its main menu.

Yeah, I'd say its waaaaay better. You got the calendar, weather, clock, etc. The sub menus are also more stylized and flashy as well.

am i the only one that gets excited when watching gt1 and gt2 menu screens, how old school and just plain awesome it used to be?!

Love the GT5 menu, it's the Facebook of games. GT5P is great for the arcade side.
Kinda enjoyed all the different menus GT has had and happy they keep it fresh each game.

Because mine's been working for over 10 years. I don't feel like paying for a new one considering my fathers new TV keeps breaking down and my sisters new TV already broke down twice in a year.

On the subject of menus I really don't see what people dislike about the GT5 menu. Sure it's a bit cluttered up, but I feel it's perfectly fine.

I just want a menu that doesn't try to communicate every move to the server, thereby creating a ridiculous 20-second pause between hitting the button and the game moving on to whatever you select.

Style and conventional aren't things I think of when I look at the GTLife Page or any page/menu in the game. It's all very static, cluttered, and ugly. It's one of my biggest peeves with GT5. Why they didn't just expand on GT5:P's GUI is beyond me. They really could've done something more styllish. This is one of those things that works so much against GT5 because every time you have to deal with the menu system (which is a lot) it just naggs away at you how PS2ish everything really is. I didn't play much GT5:P, but I played enough to know it had better execution in this department, fosho,

Just don't buy a Vizio or some other cheapo TV.

Get a high quality Sony or Sharp and you will NOT be disappointed.

I want this one.

Oh title says menus, I thought it says music  LOL

I saw that the last upgrade took away some home buttons. Why? Don't want us to navigate directly, but press back four times? That's better? how?

Yeah I got a 52" Aquos at the very beginning of 2007 and even after a move across NY state in a truck it's still going strong. Paid about $3,200- but it was worth every penny.

Whenever I see footage of GT3 or earlier, all I can think is "OOOOOORAAAAAANGE". So much orange, everywhere on the screen. At all times. [Ever.]

-> I would say GT1 (& GT2) had the perfect and simplistic menus. No BS graphics, no stylistic crapiness, everything was perfectly laid out in the most straight-forward manner. I know it was all 'orange' as what NickIBIS indicated, but PD could change that. Plus, loading times can be cut significantly! :indiff:
